  1. Yeah, you have to set it before going in, just like you would for a mission or TF.
  2. Everybody gets to play on whatever server they prefer as long they follow the rules of that server. Let's not get into a server dispute, those never end well.
  3. Scorpion Shield is a classic choice to get your defender to softcap defense to S/L and possibly E. Another thematic option is Leviathan Mastery - You can have Sharks circling in your whirlpool and it traps things there! You can also pick up Hibernate for an "Oh crap!" save, Shark Skin for S/L/C resist, and a very procable Hold in Spirit Shark Jaws
  4. Did you look for error messages?
  5. No. It's supposed to teleport you to whatever you have targeted in your reticle, be that a teammate, NPC, or even certain items (blinkies and destructible ones). But if you have nothing targeted then its supposed to take you as far as it can in the direction you are facing. The target part I generally use to do a surprise nuke or AoE control in the middle of a group. Sometimes I also use a different macro to find a certain thing and then TP to target. The camera:max part is mainly for traveling across zones or large distances indoors.
  6. It seems to be working fine now. Thanks everyone!
  7. I recommend that you download the hero designer from Midsreborn.com. That will let you choose any AT, powersets, powers, slots, and enhancements and see what the numbers for all your attributes will be. How much damage will a power do, how quick will it recharge, how much defense you will have, etc. After you play around with it, you can post a build that you made and let build gurus have a look and suggest possible changes to make you even better! Here's a thread with three similar builds made with MidsReborn. They look pretty good, but expensive. Still that gives you a good idea of how to slot and something to shoot for.
  8. I tried adding an exception last night and again just now on Avast. Still gets blocked.
  9. Interesting side effect is that a corrupter can drop an Emp Arrow on a crowd and they don't even notice.
  10. Are you getting any error message? If target's too far or blocked it won't work. If not, not sure why it wouldn't work. Looks identical to mine.
  11. How about just replacing one of the recharge with Gaussian proc? How much of a difference in time are we talking about? Less than 5 seconds, I think.
  12. I'll be your friend DC5! Seriously, hit me up in game. I play almost exclusively on Excelsior but I could always transfer or make an alt.
  13. Hey Hyper, you're a professional techy-type person, do you have any suggestions or advice other than disable or get rid of Avast?
  14. Hmmm . . . maybe it's Windows in conjunction with Avast? I just updated my Windows yesterday, not long before the problem started.
  15. About an hour ago, Avast started blocking the forums completely as a phishing site. Even adding https://forums.homecomingservers.com to the whitelist on my end still blocks it. The only way I was able to get here was to turn off the Avast online security extension in Firefox. I checked Chrome to see if it was a Firefox thing, but I was getting blocked there too. Anything you guys can do on your end to fix the site's reputation with Avast? Any suggestions for me?
  16. Nope. Why should I avoid anything that's beneficial? I may not chase capping fire resistance or soft-capping fire defense on any particular character but I still try to have at least some of one, the other or both.
  17. First, I disagree with your premise. This community, by and large, does care about new players and is very willing to teach them "the ropes". So I can't tell you "why." Second, may I suggest that if you are learning the ropes you may want to join teams instead of leading them. There's nothing wrong with leading teams. In fact, I generally encourage people to do so. But if you are still learning the game it might be helpful to you to see how others play. If you do that, you would find that PUG teams are like that not just for you, but for everyone. People join and then leave for all sorts of reasons -- real life, to play with a friend that just logged on, to join another team doing something else that they'd rather do, whatever. This is especially true when running radio missions. People will generally stay for the entire Task Force or Trial; although even then people do leave for all the reasons listed above and more. To a lesser extent, they might stay together for a story arc just to see the end of the story or get a badge at the end, if any. But radio missions have no built in reason for people to stay. So they don't. If you want teams that stick together longer, you may want to search on the forums for individual servers to find SGs (SuperGroups - sort of like Justice League or The Avengers) or a themed team that sometimes start together at level 1 and play all archers, or all defenders, or fire/rad controllers . . . all sorts of different synergistic teams that play regularly together. Third, if you really think that the world doesn't care and that everyone is rude and abusive, and you aren't just being overly dramatic to make a point, may I humbly and respectfully suggest that you talk to a professional - a doctor, psychologist, even clergy. Someone that can listen and offer better advice than a forum for players of a superhero game.
  18. I'd stick the Reactive Armor Scaling resist proc in Kinetic Shield and +5 the Def/End and the LotG for a slight loss of S/L defense for a 3%+ resist to all but psi. If you +5 some other defense IOs you could probably replace more of the loss. I'm not sure of the slotting on Rune, as we are now stuck at 180/60. But Mids hasn't updated that yet. And I know you'd still want the set bonuses. The problem with Sentinels, I find, is not surviving; it's damaging. So while this might be able to stay standing in your 801s juggling Rune and Overload and Temp Powers, it's not going to be clearing very quickly. To that end, you may want to put Gaussian in Tidal Forces and +5 the other recharge.
  19. One of the greatest things about this game is all the wildly different things you can do -- from beating up NPCs or other players, to base-making, marketeering, role-playing, mission writing, costume creating, min-maxing, power-gaming, speed running, badge collecting, or just exploring the world. There's something for everyone. To me, personally, I consider "playing the game" to be activating powers to defeat critters. Not that I have a problem with anything else on the list and I engage in all with varying degrees of success. But if someone chatted me and asked "what are you doing?" I would only respond with "playing the game" if I was beating up NPCs. Otherwise, I might say base-building or crafting or whatever I might be doing.
  20. Spooooooooooooooooon!TM
  21. My own poll: - This is a good poll - This is a bad poll - This poll is mostly good - This poll is mostly bad - Poll? What poll?
  22. Yes. I play all things, all zones, switching back and forth at will with the help of Null the Gull! There are no true "heroes" anyway. All the heroes go around punching, shooting, slicing, irradiating and otherwise maiming "villains" who are almost always just standing around.
