  3. Ha, funny I have been fiddling around with your build as well. Its one of those things where its so tight your giving up one thing for another because this is sort of DP Kin at the extreme building. The one question I was thinking as well but didn't know the numbers was am I going over the top or maxing out DPS with Fulcrum shift and Soul Drain. When you activate both in MID the numbers are amazing for Hail of Bullets. Again my current build is doing 3/8 and I am killing orange con mobs with HOB. HOB and Bullet Rain just about clear out red cons and bring purple cons half way or more. Again your build is better because Hail of Bullets is at 25 seconds compared to my 33 seconds among other things. I was looking at Winters bite on AH yesterday and seen either set regular or superior was 20 million each. I was asking around in help if converting another AT IO would work. I got mixed answers but overall the answer was NO. 100 million for 5 or 8 million ( 40 million total ) for another IO and convert. I would rather do the 40 million. I'm going to look at this when I get home and post up what build I have I think I am at V5. I think you build was 3. Side note I noticed the new MIDS builder that I have does not add any defense bonus for Melee Hybird Incarnate. Currently have Support but might go melee for the regen. Again doesn't cost me anything but time to build up the resources.
  4. I have to utterly disagree here.. Now mind you I am on Defender end with this, so I am not sure how the defense cap would work for Corruptor. But I will tell you Traps is a GREAT set.. On my Defender in the past ( the olden days ) I was soloing 4/8. My biggest issue was the Force Field generator becomes a target as is Acid Mortar which means I am aggroing A LOT of mobs. So if they kill my FF Gen half my defenses go. I have Traps on my Tankermind again which is full defense capped. Double Triage Beacon is nothing to complain about. I will post my defender build when I get home. But search the old forums in wayback time machine. You know whats better than AR Traps.. Fire Traps because Fire has the most AOE powers out of all the sets. A silly thing like caltrops keeps mobs moving. At level 50 you will have enough recharge to drop down 3 Caltrops. Trip mine, Poison trap followed by trip mine again will kill just about every mobs in melee range. Another trick is you need to keep FF Gen behind you. Don't resummon FF GEN next to you or in front.. Always behind you.. I will say this my AR Device Blaster leveled TONS faster then my AR Traps defender because the DPS output was clearly noticeable and greater with my Blaster. My AR Device is Range capped doing 4/8 hovering farms. I do not have Trip mine on him for that reason.. Hes built for move and shoot. I'm working on a petless whips ( Demon) Traps mastermind defense capped build.. Traps is the easiest set to get defense cap with. My mastermind Traps with some IOs at level 38 is at 40 defenses and soloing 1/8 atm.. Just provoking and dropping trip mines when I can and having pets attack.
  5. Good point Personally I will say its just me. I guess with Traps beyond FF Gen getting destroyed you sort of know where you are at. You have your defense numbers against all the mobs With Dark it really only work with whom you hit with the power, beyond Darkest Night. I'm very big on solo and teaming when I want. But I really want to know that I can solo the most highest setting I can on any toon I build. I do like Dark, but relying on an attack to hit to get defenses isn't for me. Just too risky. I think also with this type of build its too much risk as well. The build itself will just get a lot of negative feedback in general. I think this is just adding more unneeded risk. My thoughts are NOT to die and be on the front lines with the tanks and scrappers. Again short range on whips.
  6. I have TA Archery toon that I copied from my old post on the old boards. Its your standard Hover Blaster Range Cap. Work on high recharge to get up Rain of Arrow and Oil slick up as much as possible. I was able to farm with it. I am sure it can be tweaked but will edit this post with that build

  8. Here is a build from petless mastermind thread. Just remove the attack powers and add the pets.. You want to get range defense cap via set bonuses and midway with Melee & AOE. You will use Hurricane -to Hit debuff to get you the rest of the way for Melee and AOE. The next thing you will need to work on getting Recharge up as much as you can to get up at least 2 steady streams of Lightening Storms up. Between Lightening Storm and your pets you will clearing out the mobs. Though Hurricane is NOT a Team Friendly Power. If you were on a team with me and you wanted to herd mobs into a corner and hold them there I would TOTALLY understand and let you do it. But MANY other players just want to run in and steamroll, AV fights. Bank Jobs with AVs or EB, Bad pulls. Hurricane is a good protector for those with a clue. But again MANY players don't.   9. @ Darkir Okay after playing around with this build, I just do not see anything dramatic I could change. Unless someone comes across with a better build. Which Yes I know we can add some purple IO sets in here to be better. I can see that adding Armageddon into Soul Drain and adding Ragnarok to one of the attacks for example But again as I mentioned I am running 3/8 very smoothly. How much more do you want ? So for that I bow to your Mid Skills and I am glad I learned a few things from your build. I am saying beyond adding more purple to it I do not think defense cap wise with both Range and Melee and Perma Hasten you can do better. This build without a doubt should be the go to build for anyone looking to Dual Pistol / Kin My only wish would be to keep inertial reduction and drop increase density. Team has enough buffs and I use Inertial reduction. But again this is game of Mids and CoX..
  10. I will add I am not crazy about Mako bite and how it needed to be slotted. BUT I also get sometimes you just need to do that. Plus I agree there are ENOUGH attacks I didn't need pistol.
  11. Great Job.. No complaints ATM. I will tell you for some reason with my current build I am at 45 at Range Defense cap. I am guess incarnate powers. I am gonna go over your build but much better I think then what I have and I am doing 3/8 on the steady.

  13. For some reason I don't see a post I thought I posted. Must have messed up or gotten lost. It kills me as I went through a personal break down on the secondaries with Whips and sort of went through the primaries as well. Nutshell many of the Primary attack powers were added into the game. Ninja attacks is Archery, Undead is Dark, Thug is Dual Pistol, Mercs is Assault Rifle. I don't see ANY value in making a petless mastermind based on these Primary power sets. I just think you are really asking for trouble game wise and debate wise. Beast, Demons and maybe Robots seem to be the only unique ATM. A Few reminders These attacks are SHORT RANGED and very Endurance heavy. Not all builds and sets are conducive to obtain any viable defense caps. EG you're range defense capped but you need to get into melee range to use your whip attacks. So you surviving coming in and die when your in range. Secondary wise. Again personal comment incoming here. You need some way to defense cap. Again I just think unless you get an understanding team, having someone catch on to whats going on can just give you grief. I consider it walking into a room and someone yelling at you that you are a racist, but not expanding on it. You then in turn have to defend yourself against some phantom perceived comments. I think being able to say hey dude ( or dudette ) I am defense capped and can outlast you against a group of mobs usually will shut people up. Because you can prove it right then and there. Again Defense cap really does change this game. Defense cap changes your SOLO mission settings from 0/1 to 4/8. So that being said. Traps - Super easy to get defense cap and GREAT set. Detonator and blowing up a pet actually sounds like fun. Storm - Downfall Hurricane. Hurricane is great to heard mobs but if you get too close to a corner with mobs they will spin off the edge of the Hurricane and get away from you. No team will wait for you to heard mobs into a corner. No team gives a Shte, they just want to steam roll stuff and you are wasting their time with having Hurricane scatter mobs all over the place. But solo and against AV bosses its great. I have a new build for the Whip Storm and basically I am proc'ing to get Lighting Storm up as much as possible on full procs I will be able to have 3 Lighting Storms up. But Hurricane is what is giving your melee defense cap. Again its more solo or in the back of the team mobs running around power to tag mobs for the +recharge proc. Or Massive pull and all Shte broke loose. Like Trip Mine is to Traps, Lighting Storm is to Storm and it works well. 2 steady Lighten Storms is good enough to kill off a bunch of mobs and 3 on rare occasion is even better. Dark - Unfortunately you will get hit when applying the hit debuff anchor and it will NOT be hit debuffed as there is a delay. So you could potentially die trying to apply the debuff that will save you. I think its just too risky for this type of build I don't think you can get the defense numbers you need either from IO sets. Again anything Dark and NOT WHIPS will do better. No one will honor or care or give a Shte about your Anchor. Trick Arrow - Lighting up Oil Slick will be your main go to, though its great. The recharge is long. Just not as reliable as Trip Mine or Lighten Storm Pain Domination - This is a different animal with Debuffs and Regeneration. So your not going for defense cap but going for a massive amount of Regeneration to be constantly healed. I can speak from experience on this set and was able to solo a Pylon with my Demon Pain Petless Mastermind. We can go down the line but overall these sets need to provide YOU something as much as they provide the team. My mindset is ARMY of ONE. If I can solo X/8 with my Petless mastermind then I have already proved the value. If a set is just providing buffs to others and not you It just becomes that extra difficult. Sets like Traps and Storm has a Damage component. Force Field doesn't .
  14. This is a build I was working on. Originally I had the build set up for Melee Defense cap or close to it with 34% Melee and 16% Range, AOE doesn't really matter because the game checks your BEST score. So Ranged AOE and PBAOE will also go against Ranged or Melee respectively. What I quickly came to discover was yes in a group setting I was okay. But if I decided to pull aggro ( accidentally or being over zealous and attacking first out of the group ) I would either go flat from my Range defenses or Mobs running away from Melee would then open up with an attack from Range before running back. Again this would cause some issues because of the lack of Range Defense now combine in the whole luck streak I would get hits coming in from Melee and Range. Again I am more fighting to survive and regroup then clearing out mobs off the map. Hail of Bullets is your go to power and its your big hit followed up by Bullet Rain. This is key -> Hail of Bullets also adds about 11% to all positional Defense Caps. So this brings your Range into the 50s and just about caps off your Melee Defense. <- This is key I will post the data chunk of my first build and the layout of my second build. I will simply say I removed the dark powers though I thought they were good. But I just felt it was over kill. If I could keep the Range defense Cap AND the Dark Powers I would consider it. The best I could do is 40% or 41% in Range with Dark powers. Game Play You basically run into the crowd with super speed and the assistance of the Stealth IO and Fulcrum Shift and Hail of Bullets which will put you at close to Melee Defense cap. Incarnates bump this up very well. I can do 4/8 but I need to be on top of it, no slacking off. The best setting is 3/8 and its a really smooth ride. You follow up with Siphon Speed to get the recharge on your Hail of bullets increased. Bullet Rain for another AOE. Then Siphon Power and pick off runners and cone attacks. After the first group you want to have Siphon Speed to carry over to the next group to keep your Hail of Bullets at top recharge. If someone has a better idea without killing the numbers I would be happy to hear them. I have some incarnates but as of this posting I don't know what they are. I will clean this up with some real wording on the powers instead of being so vague, just being lazy. But have the defense bubble that dissipates over time and the Fire attack and the warworks pets ( Victoria and the drone ). I just looked for what would help my defenses and recharge.   18. Yes but I go back to my last few sentences. Mind you I agree with you. But perception is all that matters. You are talking about some dense people here. They will see they have someone with a secondary but lacking a lot of their primary. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you can get defense cap without gimping yourself I would. It just adds another layer of bonus on your end because they are just seeing they could have gotten another dark set player with More primary powers thus more dps that can do the same as you. Further regardless of the powers sets, some sets are just not that Conducive to getting or obtaining the defense cap you need. You already have a few strikes against you as a mastermind let alone a petless mastermind. Look I am working on that build. I could have went traps again but I wanted to try a different challenge. I'm at level 23 and just slotted IOS. So let me see how it rolls. I am also thinking of just starting a petless mastermind Sunday's type of run. I also need to do a dps comparison of whips to other attacks to see how bad they are. I also took the mystic attack as a 4th attack.
  19. Depending on your arch type it helps you survive. E.g. Blaster would go range defense. If your dead all the time it's noticeable especially when your a certain arch like tank, brute or scrapper. In this instance of the discussion many people dislike masterminds. Several players who play masterminds also help perpetuate this hatred. When I join a team thank them profusely and make it clear I will stay out of the way with the pets. Not gonna kill me to kowtow. So now add in now we are talking petless mastermind. Imagine Now you are not defense capped and your doing less damage and you're dying just like the storm red trooper they could have brought on to the team. You basically need to show the team holy cow this player can handle themselves

  22. Sorry meant Steadfast. It is in the build I posted though. The bots are giving me 7%. I also updated Mids with a patch that cleaned up a bunch of stuff that pines added that just isn't in game. AT lvl 36 I slotted the Gladiators Armor TP protection +3% defense. So at 40% Defense ATM. With the 2nd Upgrade to the bots I am now doing 1/8 smoothly. That hellfire AOE attack from the Assault bot is great. I mentioned this on the old forums and I will mention it here.. There has to be a bug somewhere in the code because I always have one Battle drone that ALWAYS runs off to fight. I notice it every time. I just leave myself with 2 battle drones and only resummon when another one dies and I am down to one. But again something is clearly wrong as one Battle Drone always just decides to move closer to the mobs even with me spamming Stay.
  23. Re-post your build with the data chunk at least so it can be seen in mids. But honestly just by looking at the build, you need to learn about game mechanics. You need to obtain defense caps otherwise its useless.
