  1. Very nice build.. Was just starting to work on this build type last night in Mids. You saved me a BUNCH of time working to get to the same results.
  2. Yes it was... That was my petless mastermind leveling.. You can't do petless leveling.. The Endurance drain is impossible. Since then hes 50 and has some incarnate unlocked and spec'ed out. Yea I agree.
  3. I think you guys are off base here. No one knows what anyone's build is when they are running some incarnate content EG ITF, Tin Mage Or League content EG BAF for example No one is looking at each or any toons for the most part and inspection the verbiage of their set bonus and determining how many times the word huge appears in set bonuses this context. The mere fact that my Petless mastermind offers much MORE then the same SO build mastermind numerically ( via mids or whatever hero builder ) negates your statement. The mere fact that I ran these TF and Leagues with an SO Build Mastermind and we completed them all and no one complained. Proves NO ONE looked at my build. Because again no one cares ( except maybe you guys ) if the content is being cleared. The only time someone will complain is if your failing. Further if you need full team or League to do something in this game, then your doing some really wrong. I have done ITF with 4 people. I have taken down Pylons with my Petless pain traps mastermind. I have a DP Kin that can't take down a Plyon and fully capped. He can't die, but he can't kill it either. There are MANY players who are NOT scrappers, tanks or brutes that cannot take down plyons. It doesn't mean they are lacking or bad builds. If I were being completely clinical, I would rather have a defense capped petless mastermind then a SO mastermind. Because I know from the math the defense cap build is offering me much more to me and the team. But since I know this game doesn't take a full team I would take them both.
  4. Trying slightly to grasp the auto complete as well. But I think everyone on the team HAS TO HAVE this mission. Then you auto complete the first. Then its completed for everyone. Pass lead to someone else. They auto complete the 2nd mission Pass the lead to 3rd person They auto complete the 3rd mission. Now you have to turn off the option that says complete missions if you happen to have the same mission as well.. You then run the last mission 8 times or whatever the number of players are on the team. Everyone gets the reward for each person.
  5. I think its pretty dam good. I guess we can play around with the numbers a bit to MAYBE get you closer to defense cap. But I know Darkest Night will definitely cap you out. But again not crazy on this whole anchor thing. I'm a shake box to this and its too risky for me. Yea I know its nonsense.
  6. For demons I did this long ago. http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=3966493&postcount=5
  7. Nice. Mine is Whip Lash but still trying to get him a costume. I just copied over what I had from another toon for now. This is full demon pain I had back in the day if it helps out This is copied from that thread to give you some numbers No clue why some stuff is colored the way it is tried to correct it but not all would correct. I added the wayback link to the old forums. I have World of Pain ( WoP ) 4 seconds short of perma. My constant regeneration from suppress pain is 706% to myself and 424% to anyone else. I'm pretty much within the realm of Scrapper Regeneration numbers with this build. Granted I know Regen Scrappers can go higher, but 706% is nothing to scoff at either. It comes out to 26.52 hit points per second at lvl 50.Defenses45 Ranged and AOE24 Melee ( Just could not cap this out without screwing everything else up ).Resistances with WoP activeSmash and Lethal beyond the 75% cap.Fire 18% +20% = 38%Cold 18% + 10% = 28%Energy 18% Negative 41% Toxic 41% +15% = 56%Psionic 21%Pet buff adds Fire 19.99% Cold 9.99% Toxic 15.00%http://web.archive.org/web/20120906034338/http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showpost.php?p=3966493&postcount=55 slot enhancers in maneuvers30 slot enhancers in WoP20 slot enhancers in Suppress Pain5 slot enhancers in weave20 slot enhancers in Health10 slot enhancers in Stamina15 slot enhancers in Soothe10 slot enhancers in Dark EmbraceSome of the enhancers help me squeak out the Defense cap numbers and in other places it adds about another 15% to Regeneration. It also helps the endurance as even with Cardiac this is a very heavy endurance build.I'm thinking with Bodyguard mode and my defenses and resistances combined with my Steady Regeneration I am in a good place to be able to handle a decent amount of damage. Again I think for someone who understands masterminds and you look at the overall picture I believe the build has some very good mitigation and decently layered defenses and resistances. The largest expense in the build is the Gladiator IO.It's built with a "Tankermind" approach and has provoke. I do know that some epic sets might benefit more like Chill Mastery. My super gripe with that set is the ICE cubes that shield puts all over your toons body. If they got rid of that I would consider swapping over and reworking to get the defense cap numbers back up. But beyond that I went with my favorite Soul Mastery for Oppressive gloom. I use it a lot and it really does help locking down everything that is not a boss. I use it on my Petless mastermind and I can say it is the one big thing that helps keep me alive fighting on a 4/8 setting. I was just fighting some Rikti and I could see how much it worked because anytime I would get mezzed or slept and O.G. would drop many of the mobs immediately start getting many hits through. I don't think beyond the epic pools that there is much that can be done, but never say never. But enough blabbering here is the build. Be advised it has WoP active. 8. This was my final build as of today. I changed it up because of I really, really didn't want to pay all that money OR merits for those Rare IOs. we are talking 20 million or 100 merits each. 3 sets.. Just wasn't worth it for me. I only did one set which came out to 600 merits as I didn't have the cash and didn't want to farm it. At 49 I was left with slotting out Energy Torrent and using Catalyst on the Frozen Blast. What I can tell you is the Endurance difference between 49 and 50 were very noticeable. Its still a bit heavy on endurance BUT it really is doable. I ran a mission on 8/4 setting against Counsel mobs and again was surviving. I could not put down trip mines that much when I had a bunch of mobs around. Something always snuck in to hit me and break placement. But the initial setup was great. 1 or 2 trip mines - one a bit back from the other and I was almost killing half a group between trip mine and Explosive Blast. I would set one off and then get the mobs on me and walk them back a bit onto the other trip mine. Followed up on Poison Trap and if possible another trip mine or just stick to AOE type attacks until the herd was thinned out a bit more. It is NOT some speed demon by any stretch of the imagination. But it can be done. On a team I would see no issues with him. Double triage beacon alone gives you 600% regeneration. Everything is a knockdown which is great. There are enough AOE type of attacks and enough recharge that your not sitting on your hands waiting. But here is the build. No incarnates yet Will try to take out a pylon and see how it goes. 9. Yea mind you I don't have the Exact verbiage the person said. But it was around the lines of 2 masterminds on a team already but 2 masterminds in a cave, I had enough. I'm out and they bailed. Then the tank commented, Yea I feel the same. Again not the end of the world and the newer content for the incarnate missions sort of fixed the cave and sewer problems. At least they were smart there.
  10. I suck because I cannot find this costume part for the life of me. 20 minutes and counting. Anyone have a clue where it is ? I can't even find a google answer on where it might be. Let me correct. You cannot do Bare chest and Tattoo. Robes and unique tops you can FOUND IT !!
  11. Pretty sure we were on the same one(s). Had the same exact issues same exact levels. I don't think there is an answer. I'm just glad that this game isn't character based critical. Which means if you have your core team everyone else can be a scrub as they will be doing something that causes DPS, heal, Buff or Debuff. My pets kept dying as well but it depended on the group. The first Raid group they did well. 2nd run many dropped off even the organizer said it might be rough with the current group and we could fail The 3rd run was almost as good as the first. But the FIRST run was really good with minimal pet loss in the bowl.

  13. I think like with many games when you repeat a movie cut scene or story line from an NPC they allow you the ability to cut to the end. ESC to hit end the cut scene or an option that says I heard this before lets move on. I think something similar should be allowed with Pets. Just like a force field bubbler can now bubble once instead of individuals. Just like a kin and speed boost everyone. In the same vein of what your saying. pets die on way to mission map. You need to dismiss because aggro near door outside or inside ( you don't want to be the guy who pulls the mobs because someone coming into the map knocks your pets into aggro range ). You can't just summon one tier one or one tier two at level 50 right. It would be nice if something could be done. Just one summon they are there, count the number of pets that are being replaced and charge me. And cut the endurance cost. You summon and that is all you can do just about. You get aggro and you can't even resummon if they die at start of the fight. Like with my Robot Traps I don't mind because I am game god with them. I can solo 4/8 I can do it all. But other mastermind builds are not always set up that way. Just like many other archtypes are not. But again for a free game and guys doing this on their own time.. I can't complain. I wish I had a clue how to code beyond what I know. I don't even know how this is coded. Again I feel you. But I don't think there is much we can do here.
  14. The Hit Part is correct as I expected. The Damage part I THINK you are correct as well.
  15. I will make a few statements and would like someone to correct or confirm my understanding. When a power has 2 damage components types like Energy and Smashing for example The game will select the highest defense value between the two ( Energy and Smashing ) as use that to determine your defenses. Smashing and Lethal are the most common damage types in the game. Thus having Smash and lethal Capped defense wise and getting resistance in both smash and lethal close to resistance cap is almost as good as Positional Defense cap or at least the 2nd best option. Is there another option that might be 2nd best if not Smashing and lethal concept mentioned above ?
  16. Another concept. Thugs Mastermind last pet only. Thug Brothers Twins of Evil Double Chaos Costume is basically a twin of the last Pet. Time, Dark, Kin, Rad, Again defense cap. Last pet is melee so most powers have to be in that melee range. Rad seems good for that. But I need some sort of AOE damage power like Trip mines as I couldn't rely on the pet for killing. Let's see.
  17. Played around with all the ancillary / Epic pools. Because of the number of attacks added resistance numbers and set bonuses added it just ended up better best overall ( In my opinion). Fire was the highest in DPS but it only had 2 AOE attacks and the IO sets reduced the overall performance numbers. I also was being very mindful of endurance here as well. I can't tell you the number of times I tweaked this build but you can go back to the first and this one and totally see the difference to get an understanding how involved this can be. The other thing that help make some decisions was the update to Reborn which showed me I could add Sudden acceleration IO now to these sets. So everything became knockdown now. The other cool thing is the +recharge in Energy Torrent is now more viable because Energy Torrent can do DPS now and have a chance to proc. When it procs Trip Mine Recharge drops from 6 seconds to 4 seconds. So now. I have access to the following 7 attacks; 2 Range Attacks - Corruption and Power Blast 2 Cone Attacks - Crack Whip and Energy Torrent 1 AOE Range Attack - Explosive Blast 1 PBAOE Attack - Trip Mine 1 Melee/short range - Lash Opener is Trip Mine, Explosive Blast at PBAOE range. Followed by Crack Whip and Energy Torrent. Or setting up when needed. Triage beacon, Poison Trap for the AOE hold as they come in. Pull with Explosive blast. Trip mine once Poison Trap goes off. Caltrops to keep them in place and mop up. Villain Plan by Mids' Reborn : Hero Designer 2.6.0.1 https://github.com/ImaginaryDevelopment/imaginary-hero-designer Click this DataLink to open the build! 18. No you don't Tested live several times on Traps. Acid Mortar produces the pets. 4 of them https://imgur.com/a/Dg9DpNz
  19. We were just talking about this. It seems many third pets have this issue. My Robot does this My Demon does this
  20. There were some comments where a player expressed a bit of disbelief about mastermind pet issues on team or disgruntle players related to MM. This is nothing new. Just discussing the douchebaggery that doesn't change in any MMO. And how some times leaving you end up with something better. Being an old time player I either go in last in the door or first and move out of the way ASAP. Demons yelling is a pain as well. That doesn't help much either. It drives me crazy as well at times.
  21. First, You misread the comment in the quotes. I did have pets, I think in this instance it would actually have been better if I didn't have pets. Further I am 100 percent positive you or anyone else ( Including Myself ) have no clue who you are teaming up with at level 50, what they have speced, or how poor their builds are or that they might not even be level 50. EG lvl 35 on an ITF team. I am also 100 percent positive that you do not need 8 people on a team to do any content that can have a max team of 8. So any Taskforce, Incarnate teams like ITF, Tin Mage.. ETC.. can be done with 6 and even less if you have the right people and the right specs. So if we agree on my comment about not needing 8 people are you really gonna complain and get butt hurt become someone is running around petless or whatever Archtype and whatever they are doing, but have some value to the team beyond DPS ? E.G. A some blaster takes up all the powers in the Medicine pool What if this petless mastermind was providing you with 600% of regeneration to the whole team, 20 points to ALL defenses to the whole team, Status protection to the whole team, -30 all defenses to enemies, -1000% regeneration to enemies. Because then your statement and stance this isn't about petless mastermind its more about any build that you don't think conforms to your play style or meet your requirements as properly speced for that archtype. What if the petless mastermind could take down a Pylon ? Is that the seal of approval ? Trust me I get what your saying. But there are so many variables you are NOT considering or can defend that your response is just off the mark. If you can tell me you know every build of every player that is on your team and league every time you play and approve of all their builds and can exercise some control over them and their ability to be on the team, then you got me. But the simple reality is you don't, you really don't look. You really don't care as long as you can complete whatever it is your doing. You really don't care that the blaster on your team with the whole medicine pool died a million times and ressed you the 2 times you did. Because your team was still able to complete that speed run ITF. If someone says Speed ITF and I can't do it with my build then I don't join. But if they are looking for a last player for 10 minutes I will PM that player and make my statement and let him choose to give me that last spot. Which by your statement you could never do a speed ITF on your mastermind because you would be useless. Or anything where pets are an issue.. EG TPN. Or just about ANY map where pets run around and pull aggro. And I don't want to make this into some big BS debate. I just think the response was a bit short sighted.
  22. Was on my demon traps (Getting him to 50 for the petless build) also on the team was thug mastermind. Cave mission came up, one player complained overall just being on the team with masterminds basically tolerating it but cave mission was the last straw. He left. Another member on the team ( the Tank ) complained as well. I expressed no hard feelings and left the team because I knew the team was gonna fall apart if stuff went bad in the cave. And I just really didn't want to be on a team where I really wasn't wanted. I took a screen shot to show the chat, but of course I found out later the screen shot via print screen strips chat window out of the picture. Jumped on the MSR running. Got 3 levels and 3000 V merits. Maybe the Thug Mastermind will read this and verify the incident.
  23. Funny I had a Robot FF Mastermind and I hated it.. But back then you had to bubble each one. and then Tankermind concept came out. Then I started enjoying him again.
