  1. Currently lvl 30.. Just level 25 and 30s IOs, no sets. But I do have the following kismet 3% defense stealth IO in super speed regenerative tissue regeneration IO in health. performance shifter +end in stamina I tested it all out yesterday. Here is the simple results. 0/8 is the idea setting at 37.5 defense. I did do 1/8 but the red con mobs just took too long to take down. It was just dragging along too much. Here is my simple statement I am doing 0/8 at level 30 with no set bonuses. Do you think I we won't be able to do 4/8 at level 50 with set bonuses ? I mean WE because its not like I am doing anything special. Dechs Kaison is the guy who thought up tankermind and posted some amazing things with his build at the time. All I did was expand on that.   2. No I don't think anyone can do 4/8 incarnate. Not because of the mobs but the end bosses. But I have done Pylons with with my last pet with demon pain. YES it took me a bit. Ate inspirations. But was able to do it with just last pet and whip attacks. You need to remember when you have like 10 level 50s all defense capped you get bored. You start to look for something to do. I had a Thugs dark ONLY for the guns before DP came out. But I have done AE missions with my trap toons. The biggest issues as I mentioned everything gets aggro. This includes force field generator. Which is pumping out a major part of your defenses. So you need to eat some purple luck inspirations until you get that rhythm going. Yea you get some bad starts and some cascade failure at times. But I assure you it all can be done. Give me time let me get him up to 50 and slotted out and we can do some testing and screen shots. Incarnate helps out TONS for any toon.
  3. Robot traps tankermind can do it. You could do comic con but the cave not the moon based one as it is too open for pets to accidentally run around. I have done it back in the day. Once I get to 50 I will let you know. lvl 30 atm.
  4. I will tell you why provoke. Because your pets don't have those types of defenses and resilience. I was just testing it out with Just IOs last night at 30 so no sets at all. Defense is 38 across the board on positional. No issues. until I got greedy and jumped to 1/6 and I got killed. I was bit tired as well. I will try again tonight and again go 0/6 and see how it rolls. But back to provoke. It really just gets all the aggro on you. I use Sandolphan numkey pad and added the decimal key as all pets stay to prevent them from running and pulling other groups at me. But I can tell you I was fight 2 sets of groups with just having the pets attack and I provoke. They were all around me but with caltrops down they just keep running around. Its almost like the military broken arrow concept. I just picked at target and kept attacking as I dropped caltrops and used the wand and staff along with provoke. If they ran off I would pick another target because I knew they were coming back. Again no trip mines yet, so the pets are doing all the attacks. ATM Triage Beacon is just about equal with the recharge so when it expires I can drop another one down. I noticed I really don't need the triage beacon unless it is a broken arrow type situation and they are swarming me. They were even aggro'ing on the Acid Mortar. Trust me you don't need aid other because triage beacon does it all and again you can two up for 30 seconds.. Two acid mortars up as well. Caltrops you will have out 3 due to the duration time. Again the whole point is to just get all the attention and use your pets like a giant dot along with trip mines. I will play with the build some more to see if I can squeak out a bit more recharge on it. @ Rebel230 I will look at cold and see. But some sets just DO NOT afford the ability to tankermind or defense cap. EG I have a Corruptor DP Kin.. I use Hail of bullets to defense cap Melee defense because hail of bullets give positional defense bonus. But I could not get the recharge down enough where HOB is ready. I have it down to 30 second recharge. But prior to activating HOB I am at 33 Melee defense, so I get slammed sometimes. Thus I try to make Luck inspiration because I get end and heal from powers. I also had oppressive gloom and it was a really bad idea. I would die instantly from the aggro it produced. So I use a lucky insp and jump in and spam all the AOE attacks. I haven't tried any farming with him and I am sure I can't do 4/8. But I am sure I could do at least 0/8 with him. Traps for ANY archtype that can have it is your quickest, easiest and cheapest way to defense cap. But again let me look at some builds and set bonuses and see where we go.

Double triage beacon. You basically trip mine, provoke and just continue to drop trip mines at your feet. using the keypad controls works best and you need to add stay on the period key to keep the pets behind you as you provoke and not to have them chasing mobs. Once you hit Zero numpad key for all mobs just hit 7 key to attack a mob.. and then you just need to stick to hitting Period key to stay and then 7 to attack. Provoke, Trip mine, 7 key, period key, Trip mine, Provoke, 7 key, period key. Its usually mobs behind you. Caltrops at tip of triage beacon triangle, You standing on triage beacon, Pets also getting hit by triage beacon, Just keep dropping Caltrops to keep the mobs moving. It will force them to move. But then your provoke will pull them back. Oppressive gloom works as a stun AND another form of aggro on you. Force field generator has to be behind you as well, because it will get aggro as well. when you get too many mobs.
  6. Of course it is.. My build basically works as such. Trip mine, Provoke and just continue to drop trip mines at your feet. Bots stay behind you. @ TheAdjustor - I'm sorry but no clue what your saying. Your build is short in positional defense cap. The number is 45%. Pine is showing 41 melee, 40 range, 43 AoE. Further you should check your config settings as they are wrong and misleading you in some of your numbers EG resistance values. You are not maxed resistance. You are set for PVP as well. You also killed the recharge rate by 10 seconds. I am currently at 30 and picked up provoke. 38 defense cap with generic IOs no sets. Provoke is working extremely well. I think I am running 4/0 atm. Will up the team size first and see where I tank then up the mob levels
  7. Just wanted to say Great Idea regardless of how it would be done. Maybe just give a player a choice at 20 to go in one direction or another ? Like they do with Arachnos Soldier or Widow Again Great Idea regardless of the direction. I made a petless Demon mastermind just for the whip attacks. Was defense capped.
  8. Just wanted to back you on this.. I loose my mouse pointer on the screen sometimes and the game targeting is just not the best and has always been an issue.
  9. Would it be possible to have the Nemesis Staff and Black Wand option to come out of a gun similar for example to Robot Master minds Pulse Rifle ? Just would be helpful for a player to keep the toon in the theme he created it with. Maybe charge the 500k fee for customization ?
  10. Quick Background I don't make Billion INF builds. I go for a defense cap and that is about it. I play the market to make the toon and I sell or make IOs based on the price and I don't need it. E.G. I realized some IOs created are cheaper to buy then making it yourself in the long run. 500k purchase price when the rare salvage is 500k and the creation price is 490k. On to the Topic Each Superior Blasters Wrath IOs go for 20 million each. Would the best route to be to buy them with merits or whatever the currency is needed to purchase from those special vendors OR Buy a cheap ATO and convert until I get Superior Blasters Wrath IO ? I realize the purchased ATO would also have to be Superior. I just don't recall all the ways to purchase items from the special vendors so trying to grasp all the currency and what it is used for again. I know one NPC was at fort trident or something like that. I will be happy to learn to fish if someone points me to a thread or link. Thanks in Advance
  11. Range defense cap never failed me. I was farming 4/8 solo. But you need to use inspiration until you get all slotted up with Incarnate. Defense cap is the Key to any build.
  12. Your better going DP for the shorter range and the PBAOE Hail of bullets. Your full auto is a cone and is less effective at close range. Go for Melee defense cap and it will get you smash and lethal at cap as well. many mob use that damage type
  13. Couldn't hold out and made an AR Device. The changes are amazing. Cloaking device endurance is great.. I just didn't know.
  14. Nice build. I see the defense cap. My response comes from a solo mindset. I don't play tanks or scrappers, Mostly Blasters, Corruptors, Defenders, Masterminds. Traps is a big with me for getting Defense cap. I have a DP kin build set for Melee defense cap but decently capped at several damage types as well along the way. My mindset is no purple IO's when I can due to price cost. A build has to be able to handle solo 3/8 minimum. So with that said here is my only issue with this is DP big power is PBAOE which means he will have really limited defenses when trying to pull that off solo and DP range is short compared to other power sets. Further he has no keep away powers.. EG Devices Caltrops. Assault Rifle Ignite. Further Atomic is also PBAOE reliant. I would switch the build around to go for close as possible melee defense cap again as you will be getting close in other typed defense as well. EG smashing and lethal which is a high number of enemies use. We won't talk Malta or Carnie groups because everyone has a hard time with them. End game would be super speeding into a group under stealth IO.. Hail of Bullets, disorient from Oppressive Gloom. Bullet Rain, Empty clips, Some other Atomic AOE, Back to Hail of bullets. Kill of running stragglers or just continue onto next group and these half dead mobs will come running back to be killed off by another AOE burst. This is at least how I would envision this build. Unfortunately sometimes making a build does not jive with a toon concept.
  15. I'm looking at Pines Mid Hero builder and looking at in game and I can see field operative has a health and regen component added. So looking at Pines hero builder both recovery and regen are very high. In the past I needed Incarnate because the endurance drain was painful with the range cap build. Just wonder what other changes came with I25. I am looking around to see and I want to make sure Pines hero build is carrying the same numbers.

  17. Oh nothing to say about the build.. Great numbers. range capped ( 44.6 but we know its 45). End rate is great.. So no Stamina issues. Recharge is great so double gun drone for 30 seconds. My only concerns are did Homecoming or is Homecoming going to make the changes to Stealth to field operative. I still use mids and Pine to compare numbers because some stuff in Pine isn't working or does not exist yet.
  18. This is Nethergoats old build. I went with AR Traps Defender for my first toon to be able to defense cap easier and then work on being able to farm for IOs and Money for other toons. I am jealous that your 1 level away from 50. I am at lvl 28 with my defender atm. But again GREAT to see you back on the boards. I have been scouring the old boards via wayback machine to find old builds and toons of mine. But this will be my AR Device build. Its range capped of course.   19. I recommend Combat Jumping. I'm the same way, I don't like playing in mid-air. Combat Jumping is a good alternative to Hover, it gives you the same options as a set mule and gives you sufficient in-combat mobility for most missions and as an added benefit you get protection from immobilization and it's got a lower endurance cost than hover. OMG ADEON !!!! I was just going over the OLD Ar Device thread to get my old builds and also Nethergoats and then Jumping on the Old defender boards looking up old builds we posted on..   21. This is my Old Traps AR Defender. Tested and Verified. Swap out AR for DP. Full Defense cap to all positions and types. Goto Window and Advance total to see the numbers. No Incarnates. As was mentioned you have several tactics. Jumping in with poison traps, Seeker drone for alpha strike, which I say is GREAT !. No Perma Hasten. You could go with much more expensive/rare IO to even get better results. But as an example you have Double Triage beacon if needed for 30 seconds. Again not a massive wow.. But It helps. One purple Inspiration and pretty much negating any defense debuffs. You will be soloing 8/4 with this build. I love AR Device I have a saved AR/Device and I also have Nethergoats AR Device which was way much more expensive but much better.   22. Looking at all these builds. I'm asking only because I am a big defense cap guy.. Any reason why not capping defense. I know DP is a bit centered around melee range but getting close to defense cap makes a MASSIVELY huge difference.
  23. Robot Traps was massive for me.. It was a great solo'er toon. But for those that forget the pets had a tendency to run all over the place and pull stuff across the map. I use the numpad key bind setup to constantly pull them back to me. It was just 2nd nature to keep telling them to come to me or go here because you just had too.
