  1. A lot of people are recommending that sets be fixed based on the low number usage. While I'm in complete support of this, there will be a number of individuals who proclaim "Cottage Rule!" or "I actually use this power and it's great, you just don't know how to use it!" despite information clearly displaying it isn't very useful or it's just bad. I loved seeing this breakdown of selected powersets and combinations. I think it could definitely help the devs look into the sets that need some support (Trick Arrow, for example). I'd just hope that the devs focus on the betterment of the set and the support they have from community members, as opposed to not doing anything because a handful of individuals say "don't do it, it's my baby!"
  2. I mean, instantly vanishing to a base makes less sense. The teleport animation in itself is kinda ugly. I'd be fine with the teleport effect animation that happens when you go through different base teleport connections.
  3. Why not retool the base teleport power to have a 30 second recharge, and give it the Reveal power animation? Then you can remove the macro. Quick, simple, allows everyone to have what they want without it being an exploit.
  4. It's incredibly silly to think that QoL improvements and bug fixes would be detrimental to server development resources. While there's a minority asking for everything to be reverted back to pre-i13 PvP nerfs, the majority of us are asking for "simple" bug fixes and QoL improvements that would make us enjoy PvP more than we already do. We have open group arena matches every Wednesday and Saturday, along with at least five teams that scrim with each other daily for more competitive style PvP. Sure, it might not compare to asking for Tanker fixes, Celestial Body Control, Visual Effects for Eyeball Manipulation, but we've outlined most of what we'd like to see in the most realistic terms and means to improve what we like to do. Homecoming allows us to actually receive something that hasn't been given to PvP in a long time: attention and care. We aren't asking the devs completely stop work on PvE, but give us a check-in every now and then to see what could be improved on. It's been about 12 issues now. While we'd like to have our own dedicated server to do what we want with PvP, that's not currently possible. None of us can code, and none of us have the current resources to run and operate a server. You might not like it, but we do. The improvements might be inconsequential to you, but they would mean a lot to us. Even if there are ~400 of us (per the PvP discord).
  5. Dominators look for active defense, aka shutting down your opponent before they hurt you. Doing a hold power on a boss frees you up to spam attacks on minions. Once you're getting higher in level, you get more abilities to shut more enemies down at a time. Mass holds, pulse sleep from elec Control, mass confuse from mind control. Tons of methods. That said, anything with defense helps a little at the cost of your endurance. Combat jumping is fantastic, as is stealth or maneuvers for higher consumption. Taking multiple defense powers like those also allows you to slot a luck of the Gambler proc, which increases your global recharge by 7.5%. Increasing your recharge for permanent hasten and domination is ideal.
  6. Savages damage is fairly weak compared to everything else. I'd love to tell people to use it like I do with Martial, but as it currently stands... It's at the bottom of the barrel.
  7. Gave it a whirl. Fixed up some of your slotting. About the same values, but a little higher resistance across the board. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1543&c=727&a=1454&f=HEX&dc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
  8. You're right. I was in the wrong to tell you how to post on the forum. It wasn't me being a forum dictator, though, as I said please. It was more just a general housekeeping/request of consideration. I respect you have a lot of thoughts and opinions. Current state of PvP, from my understanding, is that break frees aren't really needed due to mez duration being so short because of PvP mechanics. You really only need greens to counteract the insane amount of damage that is currently plaguing PvP. Additionally, ethereal shift does not save you because someone can chase you into ethereal/phase shift, thereby killing you if you're low enough. Auction house is disabled in PvP zones. Totally reasonable, but I also know that most would argue that jumping from building to building, or flying through the city itself, is one of the biggest highlights to a game where you can be a superhero. Also fair, because City of Heroes also offers that (at least for Incarnate Trials and Task Forces) with the LFG Chat and Queue. Correct. I don't think anyone does this, even in PvE. If they do, good on them, but street sweeping is not an efficient use of time. If they included missions in PvP zones (actual content), I'd love to do that. I think it would be fun and would provide an additional challenge to a game that is fairly easy with the right -- or even wrong, for that matter -- build. The game isn't difficult, but it's difficult if you do decide to level only through street sweeping (barring doing that in PvP zones). Nope. My builds do not destroy balance. I don't play anything overly powerful because I'm still learning PvP myself. In fact, one of my builds doesn't have an actual broken power in PvP because the hold duration is bugged. If I used it, that gives me an unfair advantage. I've been facerolled many a time in the arena and in zones. It's a learning process, and a fun one. If someone does want to get into PvP, I will gladly encourage that and help in any way I can. You're right. PvP design has a lot to be desired in this game, but the PvP community is very welcoming to anyone who does want to PvP. You can check out our discord, which is located in the PvP section of the forum. I'll gladly help anyone to the best of my ability, as well anyone there.
  9. Echoing my man coyote here. Secondary-wise, I'd suggest Martial or Thorny for AOE damage in combination with the above primaries.
  10. I PvP, in Arena and Zones, more than I do actual content at this point. Aside from the fact that it is an exploit, it ruins zones because people skip death and just hop to base to load up on things to survive. It's not fun. Please stop quadruple posting. Post all your thoughts at once, or edit the post.
  11. Super Speed Super Jump Stealth Maneuvers Tactics Acrobatics Mind Over Body
  12. Not sure if it's intended due to the last patch, but for some reason, casting Envenom (maybe Weaken, it's not one of the powers I use as much) causes the animation to vary between Ice Bolt's and Neurotoxic Breath's animation.
  13. They sure do love adding energy swords to AOE immobilize powers, huh? I think they did the same with Water Control.
  14. I'd like to have biggest feet but the smallest hands.
  15. I think Storm is fine. Some moves would benefit with an endurance reduction, but otherwise it's great.
  16. The video for water control makes it look absolutely busted from the other server. Wind Control needs animations, last I remember.
  17. Sure. It has some good damage mitigation abilities. My friend has a strong Earth/Earth build.
  18. I'm for this suggestion. Like the GMs have said, it's an exploit. If someone is following you (to give you buffs/heals/whatever) and the eight other people attempting to kill you, and then you decide to hit the macro to instantly vanish, that's being a pretty shitty individual. You're teaching the person following you two things: not to heal/buff you and that as soon as those 8 people lose one target, they'll go after the next person... which will be them. And if you are all about the PvE life (of which I'm both), get a better build or get some more inspirations if you're afraid of dying and using a cheap exploit. No, it isn't. It isn't griefing or ganking at all. You most likely (knowingly) went into a PvP zone, most likely without using the search function to see if people are actually in the zone or not. If you did the search function and saw people in there, why bother going in? Just wait it out. I know most of the PvP zones except for Recluse's Victory are often dead.
  19. Dark or Plant. Both have strong AOEs that would counter the mostly single target that is earth assault.
  20. All of the animation is wonky. The shuriken collision hits the enemy before the throwing animation even begins, then the actual damage comes out a full two later. Actual slow snipe is fine.
  21. Patch Notes were just released.
  22. I use this build. It's pretty good. http://www.cohplanner.com/mids/download.php?uc=1616&c=733&a=1466&f=HEX&dc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
  23. Plant/Martial, with the right build, can fire farm pretty easily. The upcoming buff to Trick Shot will make it even better.
  24. Since some people asked, I can definitely elaborate on my choices here. Not going to get into the secondary part, just because I feel like that's not very controversial. Again, this is from pure personal experience with these sets. Doms and Controllers are my favorite AT in the game. If there were more secondaries to choose from, I'd most likely exclusively play them. Or if more of the APPs were similar to Psi Mastery (adding some kinda buff). Fire (D- / E+): I don't think the set has a good synergy with any of the secondaries like it does on a controller. The pets die really fast, smoke & bonfire don't benefit from domination. Depending on how you play a Dominator, you might be locking things down in a scatter formation so Hot Feet won't be super beneficial. Electric (C / C- / D+): Jolting chain is incredibly weak, conductive aura is fine but it doesn't seem like a very strong +regen/+recov power. Synaptic overload is a cool contagious power, but I'd rather it was more similar to World of Confusion or hit everything at once. It also doesn't use domination (lack of domination use is a big factor in why I put sets where they are). Overall the damage is very weak and the animations are super long. Shorten the animation times and it'd be fairly strong. Static Field is arguably one of the best powers in a control set. The pets also benefit way more from controller buff sets, similar to fire. Gravity (B- / C+ / C-) This was a controversial one, and I probably should've put it at B instead of C. I love gravity on a controller. The overhaul on it made it much more effective. The pet is the best pet for a control set. On a dominator, I find it a little more clunky. Dimension shift is a good mitigation tool, but there are so many powers that don't benefit from Domination. And if you take those powers and your hard hitting ranged powers from the secondary, you're sacrificing a lot for not many benefits (it's easier to get better recharge with control powers than the actual damage powers like propel/lift). The animations are also kinda long, even if they did speed up propel. Darkness (B): A very good control set. Like oedipus said, it's similar to Mind Control and does more damage. Fearsome Stare is a strong soft hold, same with heart of darkness doing the disorient. Haunt is a great extra damage, and the Umbral Dog does additional CC. It's a contender for one of the better pets for a control set. If Shadow Field wasn't a target location AOE, it'd be A Tier imo. Or if Living Shadows wasn't a cone (I hate cones personally). Ice (B- / C+): This and Gravity should've been together in the same tier. I just made an Ice/Martial build for someone and it was really, really good (maybe credit to martial). With the change to immobilizes now being affected with knock downs, it made the set really strong with damage mitigation. Arctic Air is a PBAOE toggle, so at high level (where exp gain doesn't matter), you have another damage mitigation tool. Jack Frost sucks. The sleep is kinda dumb (every sleep should just be Static Field from elec). Earth (A): The pet sucks. The powers animate very fast. You do -def so you can hit everything, and with Earthquake you can add an Achilles' Heel -res. It has hard mezzes like disorient and holds that are up frequently. If it had one less location AOE, it'd honestly be S Tier. Make quicksand into a drop-at-feet power and it'd be fine based on it's recharge. Mind (S / A+): It doesn't have a pet, which is good. The whole set is control on roids. You get access to basically every type of mez except disorient. Almost everything benefits from domination. Plant (S / A+): You get a buff power (spirit tree), carrion creepers are great, the confuse is a wide cone. Pair it with something high in AOE (like Martial) and you got a great AOE machine. Personal opinion: Give all of the pets some higher base resistance/hp. Gravity's pet is already hands down the best pet in a control set for a reason. If others replicated it, it'd be perfect.
  25. You should look into Soul Mastery. You'd pick up Power Boost and bring your defenses even higher while maintaining strong damage output and even better support.
