Great idea! I have the Supercollider in my base but have never used it. Time to check it out!

I just did the missions for the Wedding Band and Electromagnetic Grenades. I could see the Wedding Band as useful for many characters. Not sure my AR/Dev will get much use out of it because I have Force of Nature. The mission arc took me about 30 minutes, but did reward 25 merits. I could see me getting this on another character and running the Oro missions to keep it full time, but probably won't get much use on this Blaster. The Electromagnetic Grenades are easy to get as you only need to do one mission with 5 clickies. TBD if I actually use them on a regular basis.

I just hit 50 and gotten to level 3 on all incarnate powers on my AR/Devices Blaster. My Ranged defense is short of softcap in combat by ~1%, so I decided to see if there were some temporary powers I could use to close the gap as opposed to adjusting my build again. I added the Combat Drone from the P2W vendor and that closed the gap for me, although if the drone is destroyed the defense goes away. Anyway, I started looking at the temp powers and have decided to do some Oro missions to get some powers that fit my theme like Electromagnetic Grenades. It looks like you can continuously replenish these grenades as needed through Oro. It led me to a couple of questions I thought I would pose to the community to generate some conversation and insight in temp powers: What are some of the most useful temp powers that can be obtained multiple times? Do you find these temp powers useful enough that you will do the missions to get the powers when they expire and, if so, which power is it and how does it for your character or build? https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Temporary_Powers

My buddy just started playing and he has not played since before the shut down, so is not aware of things like attuned IOs, sets, etc. He rolled an Ice / Plant because he wanted to stack holds. He didn't research the build and I haven't played Ice or Plant, so cannot provide good advice. Any thoughts on whether it is a strong combo? Any things he should know? Powers to skip, etc.?

Personal Issue with AE and the slower slog of normal content.

I am on the other end of the extreme. I plan my build out and adjust it multiple times while I level. I also market to get the IO sets I need as I level, so that at 50 I usually have 90% of my sets complete. At 50, I finish the build while working on my Incarnates. Once Incarnates are done I ask myself: what do I do now? I then roll another character.

I very rarely use Ignite as well, so maybe should look at something else. I very rarely use Trip Mine, but I do occasionally use it right before I hit some mobs, so if they come after me they run through the mine. I tend to use Rune of Protection right before combat with a mob that will Mez me or if I get hit with a Mez in combat. It does seem like getting rezzed is rare for me at range, but I have found it pretty useful while leveling and in team combat. I didn't think about a FF in Snip and that is a good idea, but I would lose 3.75% defense I would have to make up somewhere else. Would you mind sharing your build? I'll move some sets around on my build to see if I can figure out how to move a FF in Snipe. Maybe I can drop Ignite and take Maneuvers or Combat Jumping to make up for the lost defense.

Can you add a spoiler tag with details? I am now officially curious, but not curious enough to do the arc again.

Here is my AR/DEV build. The build design was to get to softcap Range defense (current planned is 46.5%) and then focus on Recharge with the intent to use the Sorcery pool (Rune of Protection) and eventually Clarion to help fill the Mez protection gap. I am thinking that between Rune of Protection and Clarion I should be able to get close to 100% Mez protection uptime if I have enough Recharge. The build adds the Spiritual incarnate for the Alpha slot to help with Recharge and I will also leverage the Force Feedback proc. I am level 43 now and over time I decided to also focus on survivability, so planning on going with Force Mastery. Since I am building for Recharge anyway for the Mez protection it seems like the Recharge would also help the uptime of Force of Nature. I have never used Force of Nature before, but it looks pretty good in Mids Reborn. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Some questions / thoughts: I currently have Trap of the Hunter for 3.13% Ranged in Toxic Web Grenade, but realized it took damage and am planning to switch to Thunderstrike for 3.75% Ranged. I was surprised that TWG is almost the same damage as Burst, so it seemed damage might be better than the Immobilize. I am not sure it matters much either way. Any thoughts? Will the Forced Feedback proc in Trip Mine go off enough to help with Recharge? Are there more optimal sets / slotting I could do? Example: I am thinking about moving the Ragnarok set to M30 Grenade and adding a Force Feedback proc and moving the Blaster Wrath set to Full Auto. BTW, I did look at this adjustment in Mids Reborn and probably going to do it since it gives me 2 choices to get the FF proc. Agreed. DrQ is not like it was back on Live. The first time I id it on Live it took 7+ hours. Now, with all the temp power (ATT, Mission TP, etc.) it is pretty quick to knock out DrQ (~1 hour).

Same with me. The first few months I played like crazy because I was worried there would be another shutdown. I am still playing, but nowhere near the hours I was playing initially.

Mid's Reborn: Hero Designer
Lockpick replied to Metalios's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
The responsiveness is very slow for me. Windows 10, 64 Bit. I get not responding errors between adding slots or powers. I am using 2.6.0.5 version. Any thoughts? Probably going to uninstall and reinstall to see if it helps. -
I haven't leveled Temporal to a high level, so can't say much about it. I do have a level 50 DP/MC, which I find really fun to play, survivable, and does very well solo or teamed. Here is my build if you are interested, although I am sure there are better builds out there. Would you be able to do Lady Grey TF with a scrapper? Seems like the Hami couldn't be done without some holds.
-
Back then I used Local Man's guide for the build. http://guidescroll.com/2011/07/city-of-heroes-illusionradiation-controller-guide/
-
What are currently the best builds to solo hard content? I would like to build one character to solo TFs, AVs, and GMs. I expect to sink a ton of inf into this build, so would like to get the highest performance build to do content I have not been able to do previously. I played predominately scrappers on live and on Homecoming I have leveled a SOA (Huntsman), 2 Blasters (DP/MC & DP/EM), a Sentinel (DP/Ninjitsu), and a Stalker (SJ/SR) to 50. I have read that Dominators are good for solo, but have never leveled one. I had a level 50 Illusion / Radiation Controller on live, but even though he was IO'ed I couldn't solo TFs, AVs, and GMs back then. Basically I need the easy mode build to be able to do the TF/AV/GM content, so I can start doing it and then I can try more challenging builds once I gone through solo with the easy mode build. I appreciate the feedback!

I've read this thread and the defender thread, but not really getting my head around it. Has there been a ranking of the builds based on procs? I'm lazy, so I was hoping someone could tell me which build ranks at the top, so I could test it on the test server.

Can it solo TFs? Sounds like it should be able to do so if it can take down AVs and GMs. Anyone got a good build?

Never played Corrupter, but looking at starting a Beam / Traps. Any guidance or thoughts? Doesn't seem like Traps is very popular in the FotM thread...

Me. He might be a celebrity, but he is just a person just like the rest of us. I would treat him the same way I try to treat everyone (with respect).

In PVE there are some enemies with decent perception that can see through Stealth, but I don't know any will see through Hide. With a stealth IO and SS you are practically invisible the vast majority of enemies will not see through it. The link StrikerFox provided gives great details on stealth and perception.

There is a thread somewhere around here that recommends doing the 1st story arc in Dark Astoria (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Heather_Townshend). This arc takes 15 minutes and can be done repeatedly. I basically get the mission from my Oro Pillar in my base and then run the mission. You get 1 EMP for completing and can choose another one or a random incarnate component.

50 merits equals 150 converters that you can sell for 90K Inf each. 150 converters times 90K Inf equals 13,500,000 (minus fees) You can buy 2 LoTGs for this amount If you use 50 merits to buy one LoTG recipe you will be losing money It seems to me you are better off with using merits for converters to either sell or use on enhancements

Interesting topic. I would suggest building an AE mission that you personally find challenging. I think a lot of people forget that we have a great opportunity for player created content and there is tons of it. I have played some AE missions while leveling that are extremely difficult for me (or the particular build I was using). I haven't really played any AE missions at level 50 with incarnate powers, but I would guess there are some challenging AE missions out there.

So, I found my build and comments in another thread. The build is in the previous post, but here were my comments: These IOs are my actual IOs, but most are attuned and I have Hasten at 50+5. This build was setup to softcap Range, Melee, and AOE. The actual in game numbers for these defenses are higher than the numbers in Pine's. The slotting levels are probably not accurate and I am still working on my incarnates as I am only tier 4 on Alpha. The rest are tier 3. Some thoughts: Hasten is not perma, but it comes up pretty quick for me and the powers recharge fast enough that sometimes I don't even use it. Ninja Run, Sprint, and Shinobi-Iri stack for a solid travel power, so if you don't want to invest in a travel power there is no need to do so. That being said, I like Fly and Afterburner and took them. They are probably not optimal. You could probably get rid of everything in the Fly pool and pick up something else if you are min/max. I very rarely use Blinding Power and it has basically become a purple mule. Probably something better to take out there. End was a problem while leveling until I slotted health and stamina with the procs and now I have zero endurance issues even when I have fly, ninja run, sprint, and all my other toggles on. As a matter of fact, Seishinteki Kyoyo is probably redundant as I rarely use it. This build is very survivable and I very rarely get into trouble. When I do get hit Kuji-In Sha provides a good amount of healing. The DP damage seems low to me, but the ability to sustain damage is very good. I tend to eat accuracy and damage inspirations to help out the damage. I tend to slot Health, Stamina, and Combat jumping (here Ninja Reflexes instead of Combat Jumping) this way on my builds, which I am sure people might think is overkill. I think the procs are very helpful and particularly like the combination of the Scaling Resist Damage proc and the Chance for Absorb proc for survivability. I tried the Ninja Tool pool and very rarely used any of the powers. It would be good to get a pool power that has some martial arts as I love the way DP and the kicks from Martial Combat look on my blaster. In this build I would love to move Recall Friend earlier to exemplar and be able to stealth missions with teams, but I wanted Fly earlier so I could have an easier time be able to blast out of range while my defenses were lower.
