If we're going to add "bald under the hat" options, we should cover the other end as well. Why the hell does EVERYONE with any sort of headgear have a buzzcut? Does Paragon City require you to go through boot camp before donning a hat?
-
You mean the buff that's utterly trivial, goes away if you do any sort of vertical movement, and has a stupidly-long cooldown for what it ultimately doesn't do? THAT buff? In their present state, those little buff pets are a waste of a click - there's nothing to make up for. 1% defense and 0.1 end/sec on a 1hp aggro magnet is worthless.
-
T9s in general on enemies is just a bad idea - see Foot Stomp rendering anything without a dedicated armor powerset moot. But MoG takes the cake: that's not enemy design, that's a creator trolling the playerbase.

/JRanger. I've seen too many games ruined by friendly fire to give that so-called feature any more chances.

Off Topic, or I just want to post photos of my Cat.

Now who's projecting? There's no glee at all in what I'm saying. Only disgust that so many people are willing to take the snake at its word that it won't bite.

I'm familiar enough to know that 10% ROI is pie-in-the-sky territory for most ventures.

CoH and its studio were turning a solid profit over its last year, even with another project going on in the background that was leeching some of its revenue. It was in NCSoft's best interest to leave well enough alone. They didn't. "Best interest" isn't part of the decision-making tree here. Same way they almost wiped the game out 7 years ago: use the "legit" server to concentrate everything in one place so they can kill the thing with one bullet instead of half a dozen.
-
You'll forgive me if I see no reason whatsoever to trust a company that's already stabbed us in the back once.
-
Hahahahahaha .... You are incredibly naive if you think NCSoft won't stomp CoH into the dirt all over again at the slightest excuse. All this negotiation does is give them an easy vector to squash the whole thing at once.

Can The Negativity Stop? PLEASE!

Not for long, if NCSoft is involved. They killed it once, just for daring to be something other than a Korean-style grindfest. They WILL kill it again, given the opportunity, for the exact same reason.- 60 replies

Aug 26, a classic mmorpg releases. How will
Black Zot replied to wjrasmussen's topic in General Discussion
Meh. "Classic WoW" was basically "WoW before Blizzard learned how to make a genuinely good RPG". I've played WoW intermittently from Vanilla all the way to present-day, and frankly Vanilla was garbage compared to Wrath-and-onward. -
Bring Back Galaxy City from release
Black Zot replied to wjrasmussen's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think he meant a starting zone that WASN'T designed for masochists. -
You say that like removing the single most unpleasant mission type in gaming from a game that's otherwise a lot of fun could ever be anything but an improvement.
-
+1. I should NOT have to compromise my character's ability to function just to keep some poorly-programmed AI working. Seriously, just let the friendlies lock on through stealth like every ambush ever coded into the game.
-
I would absolutely invite them! But I'm not nearly as whiny and pissy when things go sideways as I've noticed some people are. XP debt builds character. Spot on MunkiLord. And the poster you quoted is making the bad assumption that the only thing a Kheldian brings to a team is Quantum’s. They call out the one negative and ignore all the good things that the AT brings Kheldians do a lot of things, but there's nothing they do that another AT doesn't do better (and without the detriment of AT-hunter spawns). DPS? They have one of the lowest damage caps in the game. Tank? Lobster form is flatly inferior to brutes, nevermind tankers. CC? Oh please, a blaster does that better. Jack of all trades, master of none. It's not a bad assumption, it's stating facts. I play a warshade knowing that no matter what I do, someone on my team will be making me redundant at it - even before the Quant shows up and oneshots me.
-
Khelds weren't, and still aren't, nearly powerful enough to justify massively-overtuned enemies spawning just to fight them. Would you bring tankers along if doing so spawned enemies that ignore defense/resistance? Would you bring a controller if they had a "control-hunter" enemy type that shielded their spawn from debuffs and CC? No, you wouldn't, because as soon as one of those anti-AT mobs showed up your new teammate would be actively detrimental to the group. Putting deterrents to inviting players into a game that's balanced around teaming is just a stupid design paradigm.

Enemy behavior is nonsensical, absurd!
Black Zot replied to Purrfekshawn's topic in General Discussion
Well, wouldn't you? That depends greatly on whether my team has active auras/bubbles that are keeping me alive. -
I think I'll echo justicebeliever on this one - I need account names to block so I don't have to put up with such control freakery.

I always wanted to see a mastermind themed around the Grinch's theme song. Minions include The Mean One, Bad Banana, Cuddly Cactus ....

Considering the closest thing you've had to a valid suggestion was for me to render all other sounds (including important audio cues I need to play somewhat well) inaudible so this ONE OUTLIER isn't ridiculously loud, I have to question your understanding of the word "reasonable" as well. Foot Stomp would sound great if it played at the same volume as the rest of the game. It. Does. NOT. Start by acknowledging that fact and we can have a reasonable discussion. My game sounds volume is at 15%; my computer master volume is at 30%, and my speakers are also turned way down. At those settings ANY other game on my computer would be unplayably quiet. Don't insult me by claiming I'm somehow playing this game at a loud volume.
-
Did I not say, TWICE, that the volume for EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME was at a comfortable level? Oh right, I did. I suggest you get yourself some fucking reading comprehension before you make another inane reply like that.
-
You love a noise that, when everything else is at a comfortable volume, sounds like a bomb just went off on my desk. And you're upset that someone has suggested removing this reincarnation of the "drop a trainset in a crowded area so everyone around who has sound enabled is deafened by the emote-spam" troll tactic from WoW. I'll call a spade a spade, thank you very much. If this is really your idea of fun, I don't WANT to get along with you.
-
No offense, but if the ability to blast someone's eardrums out can be considered an "iconic" part of anything besides trolling, it's time to rethink your definition of "iconic".
