  1. to be fair, whenever I make a female toon, I always dial the tits down to their smallest setting and yet they're still mahooosive!
  2. I've never really enjoyed costume competitions. I get why they happen and I've come up with some pretty good designs myself, even if I am blowing my own trumpet but the whole competition thing fails to move me - and it seems so random which costume wins. If I'm teaming with someone who's got a good costume I'll tell them that I think so and that's pretty well good enough for me.
  3. I'm having a shit tonne of fun with this. It's got to be one of my favourite toons ever! She's only lvl 48 but is already very potent and feels quite tanky. Even without being properly slotted she seems able to lock all but the strongest mobs down and batter the living daylights out of them. Squishy as hell and if anything does get past she can faceplant suddenly but that doesn't happen too often. End use is just becoming manageable. It was difficult in the late-30s, early 40s but as I've managed to get some slots out there it's looking much better.
  4. Earth/Poison is a strong combo but of course it has borked synergies. Earth has a lot of AoE to hit multiple targets and Poison is largely an ST Impresario. Proccing is good, but don't forget that you can also use your P2W attacks, get other Temp attacks fairly readily too, so you can mitigate that way. I find myself disagreeing a bit with @Wimbochismo - I am not saying he's wrong but we clearly have a difference of opinion here so you are the lucky one who gets to decide what works for you I'm a big fan of Quicksand - I would not lose that, but I don't know your play style. I always take Envenom, Weaken and Neurotoxic Breath and I will usually take Paralytic Poison - it's a non-damaging power but does add extra hold value. I do often skip Alkaloiod and Elixir of Life - useless when solo and not much help on an 8 man team. If you're in a duo with a buddy, then maybe. I will also skip Salt Crystals and Stalagmites - but that's my play style. Sorcery is ok, I'm not a huge fan of the attack powers, I prefer Force of Will but Sorcery does give one of the best travel powers in game. Pay your inf, take your pick. If you're somebody who likes to stand back and keep at distance, you probably won't get too much value from Venomous Gas - but it is good when mobs get up close and personal. Again; balance vs play style is your watchword here. You might also want to consider Concealment pool. Stealth falls off in combat, but it does allow you to get close to mobs (especially if you slot a stealth proc in on of your run powers) to catch them off guard with Earthquake etc. It also allows you to slot a LotG 7.5% recharge for not many slots. You'll want a lot of recharge. Hasten is almost mandatory here. When you get to your APP/PPP powers - Ice or Mace works nicely. Thematically I guess Stone works too but I've got little experience of that so I can't give you an opinion. Whichever way you go, have fun. It's a great combo and really comes into its own at higher levels.
  5. Mind/Dark perhaps?
  6. Quick update. I think the concept has failed. All the variants I've played are a lot of fun - one iteration of Glass Fox is 50 and Vitric's not far behind and they are fun to play. I'm actually enjoying Vitric as a brute, which is unusual for me. But the notion of them being one and the same person, sharing the same body - well I've just not been able to pull that off even in RP (which I am not great at to be honest) so I'm thinking I might shelve this for now. It doesn't help that my altitis got me distracted but that's par for the course in this game but I just wasn't able to work out how to make the two seem like one. I know I was pushing the boundaries in a game which makes individual characters the focus of the playing experience so I do not see it as a game limitation but I have definitely been overambitious and failed to really get this off the ground. That said, I have enjoyed leaving shards of glass in my wake as I much through mobs! Both characters are pretty competent and powerful and it's been fun to explore powers I'm not so familiar with so I've definitely got some great experiences out of it and I will continue to play them and have fun
  7. I think you'd need to be a little careful there - if VEAT parts were available to all characters, there's little incentive to play VEATs - but I am a great advocate for VEAT characters to be able to mix and match their costumes.
  8. some really great info in this thread!
  9. because vampire?
  10. odd name for a character
  11. Doesn't matter. The name is enough. Imagine creating an Arachnos VEAT and calling it the Amazing Spider Man.
  12. Agreed! There are instances where you'd just like to keep the outfit and take your helmet off. But as it currently stands you get one VEAT outfit and nothing else - which seems limiting. So far as I know the only specific Arachnos costume items available are the "Special Helmets" (there's a name for an SG right there) in the CC
  13. My own feeling is that the GMs and team look at stuff in the round. Given Homecoming's history, absolutely the very last thing they need to be worrying about is a C&D notice from an IP owner. They have every right to protect this environment and should do diligently. I would be guided by the expression "better safe than sorry" and so should everyone else who plays here.
  14. Don't think he'd care enough to revisit us
  15. All you had to do was scream and your life would've been saved Who are you? What do you want?
  16. That's his less famous nephew; Howard the Lich
  17. It occurs to me that this is not a Unicorn build. It is in fact a Narwhal build. Like unicorns, but better, with longer range and actually known to defeat real life terrorists
  18. This is too subjective to be readily answered. That goes doubly if I'm understanding OP right in saying he stops developing his characters at level 19... that's an outlier if I ever heard one, when most are running to 50 To me "properly slotted" means it's working as best as it can while I'm getting to 50, with probably a few glitches that are likely expected (End use and the lack thereof for example.) But if it's playable without needing an urgent respec then it's as properly slotted as it will get as I progress. I get new slots, fit SOs in them and maybe in the mid-40s start to add Invention Set IOs depending. I'm not one for Min/Maxing so much - and there are some useful sets out there that don't cost a fortune and still give quite a good bang for buck Properly slotted? I'll let you know when I understand the question.
  19. Katie certainly does not need a merit boost, it's a fun TF and awards a great temp power too. TFs and trials aren't meant to be speed runs. Their original concept was to be a team event that could potentially last a couple of evenings play together. That produced a few practical issues so their progress has been engineered to be significantly faster over the years. Mostly the merit rewards are fine as they are - you don't just get merits and to spoon feed the player base merits even more readily than they are now available would be game breaking and cheapen the events. There might be a case made for increasing them for Citadel and Synapse, but better to rework both those TFs to be less tedious in their own right. The aphorism "if it ain't broke" applies well here.
  20. once you've got your windows the size and position you like use /wdwsave to save their position. Then if anything breaks or changes you can quickly repair it with /wdwload you can also do this for your chat channels using /chatsave & chatload binds; /bindsave & /bindload and options; (wait for it) /optsave & /optload I find those tools invaluable for setup when creating new characters - I have all those parameters saved, so a quick /...load on each gets my screen looking and feeling the way I need/like it.
  21. I was a bit more flush, I was working and able-bodied so I'd often buy one or two packs a month as well as maintain my sub as a way to support the game (look how that turned out) and I did enjoy them. I'm not naturally one given to gambling but getting a nice juicy purple reward was good. But even now I also have a ton of insps etc in my character items that I'm very unlikely to use in a hurry 🙂
  22. A lot will depend on your AT - and also you have to add Pool powers into the mix alongside APP/PPP; those are powers you get at level 40 (maybe lower?) Then you add slotting into that mix. And the foes you are fighting. Some are more or less vulnerable to different types of damage etc., for example. The game is mature and has many elements that weave together into the cloth of your particular toon. Also, as a rule of thumb, the support ATs tend to have the shields, blasters have very little, given they are a glass cannon, and as you might expect, those ATs that function as tip of the spear have better defences at the cost of damage output.
  23. I never thought to look there. Thanks!
  24. a lot depends on your personal play style. I rarely play melee characters. I have no scrappers or stalkers in my array of characters because I just don't like. Which is odd, because when I play blasters I tend to be an inveterate blapper - I start at range then move to melee. It takes time and practice to learn how a particular power set works, both as a stand alone and in synergy with your secondary. I'd also say there is no shame in playing at the lowest difficulty. Learn the game, enjoy it. I never play at +4x8 unless on a substantial team that I'm not leading because I tend to play squishies and don't enjoy endless trips from the hospital. Find out what works for you and enjoy at that level. Once you're more confident in your own abilities you can ramp up the difficulty and then see how that's working for you.
