  1. ok, well disregarding my off-the-cuff and somewhat dismissive previous response - the story you tell in this quote is way more interesting than the first three minutes of the video that I did watch. Respectfully I suggest you try and tell a story that captures the imagination. You've clearly got smarts - you're better at Bash than I am, which is obvious, but that did zero to capture my imagination. A story needs to capture the audience within seconds and hold them and sadly on this occasion you failed in that. Better luck next time.
  2. VEATS can be a lot of fun, and my SoA is one of the most potent characters I've ever rolled, running straight up the central path, despite the forced respecs. However Alain Dessoc's arc is dogshit. It's a cheap nasty clip show of somebody else's greatest hits and makes me want to hurl.
  3. Have 2 portals - one entrance, one exit, both on the sky islands and use the whoosher/jumpgates from the Shadow Shard to reach the main Ouro floating space station thing. You could actually use ice like in the Frostfire mission at the arrival portal to ensure those arriving get sent to the centre
  4. I doubt the concept of a nemesis repeatedly showing up is copyrightable - It's been a major story concept since time immemorial, and was popular in pen & paper RPGs for decades. It may be that Cyptic's system at a technical level is patented (I'd be surprised if it wasn't) but I can think of different ways to implement a system such as that. The real skill is balancing it right - it's one thing to have an arch-nemesis who you encounter sometimes during your journey in a game but there are two really important criteria there; a) It must be relatively infrequent and b) you should be able to finally defeat them close to the end game If you have somebody turning up too often it stops being fun and becomes a PITA and if you can't ever defeat them it can feel demoralizing and leave the player frustrated , thinking "What's the bloody point?" And of course the Nemesis has to be personal to you - which in an MMO is very difficult to achieve and a "clone" is too cliched to bear real scrutiny.
  5. That's a very fair point. Gold side too! I'm guessing that if they could make the tech work it would be relatively easy to do but given the issues with the kiosks to date I suspect they are in about as useful as a chocolate teapot
  6. Taxibots were amazing back in the day and saved many a fruitless hour running back from Atlas Hospital to the Hollows mission - and vice versa. The Hollows is vastly different to what it was originally, and mostly that is an improvement, but I can't help but feel sadly other improvements in the game have made the arcs within Eastgate almost entirely redundant. Part of me thinks that's actually a great shame because some of the story telling there is fantastic and I'd argue much better than about 85% of the content in this game. The issue was that once you've defeated Frostfire for the seventeenth time it began to pall somewhat and the ubiquity of the Hollows arcs as your levelling path kind of bludgeoned the admiration for the story from you. But yeah, good times. Thanks for the reminder! 👍
  7. Caltropsnot... a deadly new slime power. To the OP: Bring a friend. There are reasons why other ATs exist
  8. Imagine away! Isn't that entirely what this game is all about?
  9. In a perfect CoH connected world, those terminals would be your in world UI for the app that you have on your mobile that allows you to track characters, home shard, level, inf, etc. So you can remain logged into the game while checking if you have what you need to do that TF that's being advertised on a slow night.
  10. They should be Indigo but the Blue Spectrum got borked before you reached the city proper!
  11. Where to start...? Scarlet Shocker - In my personal head-canon, Scarlet and Ms Liberty are good friends, even to the point of occasionally socialising together around Pocket D and sometimes going out "incognito" together. She believes in the need for Longbow, understands that Paragon is under pressure from many different opposing forces and has dedicated her SG to supporting HeroCorps and Longbow in any way that she can. In fact many of her SG mates have fallen by the wayside and she believes that the city cannot survive against its many assailants but she refuses to give up. Barbed Quarrel was personally commanded to form the Praetorian Imperial Secret Service (we never use the acronym for obvious reasons) by Emperor Cole, to continue his mission. She does this despite his death and is fanatically devoted to his mission. She is now based in Paragon and is gathering strength and intel in order to strike back at Primal Earth and allow Praetorian Earth a chance to reclaim its former glory. She is sometimes very conflicted when she has to go up against other Praetorian forces, given her devotion to the cause but it is imperative the Primals' do not learn of her goal until it is too late and so must keep up appearances.
  12. Unique Dragon said it better 18 years ago
  13. 50ft of paracord, Swiss Army knife, torch, bandages, cigarettes, lighter, tinder & sparks for fire, compass, condoms, pen and non-water soluble paper, mylar blanket etc... Utility belt for a natural character. They are what you wish them to be in the moment.
  14. Are you going off on a tangent? Or maybe angling for attention I feel it acutely. Stop being obtuse!
  15. of course the worst thing you can do is trap something in your fly, which invariably results in tears and a funny walk
  16. clearly she's made a happy man very old!
  17. If you think the stats are good there, try six slotting it with Mako's Bite Win! 😇
  18. There are several bars in Pocket D and of course in all the good bases. I'm sure you'll find at least a couple of bars that will get you where you want to be, even if it's not level 50 🤣 Cheers!
  19. Mind Control has the worst pet! Fly Trap is actually pretty good. It's robust, not as stupid as some and survives along side you. Don't measure a pet's effectiveness by it's DPS alone. Fly Trap does some good debuffing too and combined with other plant powers well worth the investment in slots
  20. Kill 1 @Snarky and the badge is yours for the taking!
  21. Dark/Time would work very well I imagine, given that dark is one of the more damaging control sets. Plant goes with everything Mind/Time gives you great possibilities for names and should be pretty good, but maybe a bit slow solo. take your pick!
