I am having a shit ton of fun with this one. It's amazing, robust, strong and oodles of entertainment. I've only ever been able to take out Ritki Pylons on a few toons but I tried this and did it with ease. She doesn't do a huge amount of DPS but barely takes damage unless somebody can get past all her mitigations or drain her end entirely (and even then it's not impossible for her to fight back and win the day, with the use of a couple of strategic insps) - so really survivable and robust, with enough damage to take down a lot. I actually need to find some new challenges for her - so I'm open to your suggestions. I'll post her build below as best I can but I wanna say thanks to all of you for your various advices on things defendery, because she's a tonne of fun and is now up there as one of my core HC characters. I should add that she's T3 on most of her Incarnate slots with only Vigor at T4 (I started on Cardiac and realised I didn't need it) Anyone fancy helping me Duo the lvl 45 TFs?

I don't have a problem with how people play the DFB so much as the fact that DFB exists. This means that it's very very difficult to get a low level mission team to run, you know, actual content, and get up to a reasonable level quickly and easily with some good companionship. This game isn't hard, and there's a lot of amazing content out there that simply doesn't get played any more because people whizz past it. But it's not so much fun to solo, so one is forced into a situation where we either PL to incarnate level or take the path less travelled which becomes a grind. Personally I would make DFB an exclusive mission: Run it once after you've created your character and then you're locked out (kind of like training missions) - I'd remove all XP from the AE - so that folks could enjoy creating and playing original stories - and then delete XP boosters from the P2W I know that is somewhat heretical, but it would force folks to play the game rather than to endlessly loop PLing to 50.

What's the smallest change to CoX that you really want?
Scarlet Shocker replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
We need to be able to choose hats for Animal heads, which doesn't currently seem possible. I would also dearly love to have 2 VEAT costume slots for every veat character even if it's just a "hat on/hat off" option -
I could have, but if I'd done that I'd have two wasted slots. So I spent the afternoon tweaking... and I stopped by to see my friend Cap'n Mako and ask if his buddy wanted to join my team. Overall performance is much better

Latest Trick Arrow creation - Trick Arrow/Beam Rifle

I'm having a great time with this one! It's absolutely amazing. It's not a killing machine per se, but it is survivable, has massive debuffs and is a lot of fun to play. I've not yet got it quite slotted out but it's a ton of fun even before it's fully finished -
Quick update: A respec turned into a project but the problem is fixed and the toon is much better than before - so thanks for help!
-
but it's ideal as a proc mule! Thanks for help peoples

Thankyou so much. I need to respec

I've never seen this before but suddenly I'm popping off Flash Arrow and I get attacked. I'm running SuperSpeed and Combat Jumping and I've normally been able to get pretty close to foes and pop FA off to become almost invisible - but now from even a distance they notice me, attack at range and charge. I've picked up a few Alphas unexpectedly this way. This is only very recent - Ihave no clue what changed. My build seems solid and I have no reason to think I should be attracting aggro (lvl 50 Defender, TA/Sonic) What's going on here? It's making one of my prime opening powers useless

slightly tangentally, but this is very relevant and quite enjoyable:

Most underrated power sets in game
Scarlet Shocker replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in General Discussion
some interesting answers with a few surprises. I am a huge fan of Thermal - increasingly so. I rolled an Earth/Thermal on live that rocked (pun intended) called Magma Mage. He doesn't kill fast but he kills everything with the controls from Earth (which does come with a very solid -Def component remember) and the magic of Thermal that keeps Rocky alive with shields and then literally melts your opponents. I'm also a fan of Kin melee - it does seems slow in attack but I've never noticed it doing less damage than others - but that said my experience of melee is limited. -
Super Hard content and gated rewards/toys

It's how most games go. Same with TV, same with anything you love. People immerse themselves in the goodness for a long time. How long depends on various factors - if it's a TV series, as an example, they can be dedicated to it for the first four seasons but if season five delivers a steaming turd, no matter how good six and seven are it won't bring 'em back Sometimes you do what you do, then you did it and mission accomplished. You played that to your personal conclusion and away you go. Kinda like wives. -
I'm curious. I see a lot of posts saying X is fantastic, Y is crap compared to Z(ed) etc. There are a billion and one opinions out there and I'm never quite sure that the data backs up those opinions. (Wait for it... it's coming) But there are some sets that are a shed tonne of fun to play even if they don't necessarily perform numerically as well as some other set (which may actually be quite boring to play.) So with that preamble over, what sets do you think are excellent to play but don't necessarily get the love they deserve. Maybe their performance value is low, they don't fit your play style, you dislike them because you hate a certain type of AT but maybe you love it and wish it would just do one thing a tiny bit better? Yes, it's an open question: Go to it!

They are not chips. Those. Are. Crisps. THESE are chips. These are NOT noncy, skinny, unsatisfying "french fries" (they ain't French) - these are the kind of chips you eat in a butty or out of newspaper with a fish, plus lashings of salt and vinegar. These things... these are crisps. (They can also be eaten with lots of salt and vinegar, or cheese and onion and very occasionally, hedgehog. None of the above is pie.
