  1. Yeah. No I truly feel your pain. On live it was miserable. Lack of endurance? Try playing a Brute before inherent Fitness. Or a Blaster with no inherent fitness and no sustain. Influence is already raining down on those who even try to make it. Run a Posi 1 and use the merits to buy boosters or converters and sell those. That is a decent chunk of change. Or craft convert and sell your recipe drops. So while I feel your pain, at this point any pain you feel is sort of over dramatic and self inflicted. Slot a Panacea and a Perf Shifter and use the market. (Like all the other people who have found the solutions )
  2. I do not like pets. Players do not have design control over them. Therefore any AT that has pet X already has a specific element added to the costume that there is no way to change. "I'm a space pirate!" "Uh, why is there a black shadowy dog following you?" "Been trying to figure that out meself. Arrrrrr!" Lore Pets. Banished Pantheon. If I have to tell you why I apologize. Not going to. Kind of hate them. They go with nothing. Then any pets that are "fire and forget" like Banished Pantheon or Dominator pets have to be calculated out for when to use, when to save, etc. Any pets that are in your full control really control you in how you move through missions. Like walking a pack of dogs through the mall. Every fifteen feet is a new adventure.
  3. Oh yeah but that thing is vicious. I just leveled a Dark Melee Fire Brute. Insane fun. Thinking of running through as a Fire Armor Dark Melee Tank now. Worked a bit on the build last couple days. Just wicked vicious
  4. I see. It is effectively the same but completely different. Grabbing agro dictates the games response. Using Taunt nearly guarantees the result unless you are trying to steal from a Tank
  5. Okay, Tankers (and Brutes) "Taunt" everything they hit. I just called this "grabbing agro" Is this different than the "Taunt" effect I assumed Taunt did and that we have all experienced from Black Scorpion in the MLTF?

  7. You run SO builds for days at a time, and do so on a regular enough basis that when asked how long ago could say "a couple days ago" Enjoy your SO builds. I will enjoy my I/O builds. And, quite honestly, I do not give a crap about anyone enough to take this stuff personal. But, old wise men and cagey money making head doctors point out when you bring something up it says a lot about.....you.

  11. I am hard headed and short sighted. But I seem to pick up on a theme. Most folks agree Tankers are now clearing trash faster. (I could be wrong, in either that Tanks are doing it or that people agree that is what is happening) Here is the thing. In my view the goal of a good team synergy is to turn ALL mobs faced into "trash" by a combo of buffing the team, debuffing the enemies, and then increasing team damage and accuracy. Which....favors the large AoE Tanks with the improved damage scalar. In my opinion. The AV at the end? Envenomed dagger or the equivalent from Corruptors, Defenders, and pool powers.
  12. Looks at the sentences and the question a few times. I have been told (in this thread) that I am really not good at this game. Yet I kind of think the two sentences say the same thing.... Anyone have a college course in logic under their belt? Just kind of look this over carefully?

    Yes. Which I ran to 50 and i lncarnated. Then realized it was just not necessary to screw with mental and found Fire Temporal Force Flame was the sweet spot for me
  14. This. One of the most powerful offensive team members I have played. The debuffs allow your whole team to pound the enemy or if alone work perfectly with your powers. Then the DoT AoEs work hand in glove with Scourge.
  15. Yes i have both. As much AoE as possible. I do call Drain Psyche the sustain. It fills that role. I have face planted a couple times. Right now the group is 10-11 people so an awkward team split of 5-6 people per team. And I have been called out for “tanking” a group if I get bored. Honestly I sort of do not realize I do it. I just see a group of enemies and wade into them with AoE and usually they are dead. Sometimes it is not so pretty lol
  16. Reminds me of redside missions. When do you actually get to do evil things like rob a bank, kidnap someone, deliver innocents to vahzilok for live vivisection…. All the time!
  17. That is epic. It actually took me a moment to realize what I was looking at. People in costumes? Wait, how are they making those motions? Is that just a giant filter used in the scene?
  18. And my solo run build (i have two builds on favorites) will leverage Build Ups and Damage procs. While my team build will have the higher armor and be a taunt bot. Since my main is an Invul Dark the larger AoE supercharges Soul Drain and makes that more useful on the Tank. (This means more damage)
  19. *coughs. Yeah, I never thought to chime in on any of the dozen previous threads asking for changes to Brutes or Brute ATOs.
  20. I honestly think they should just keep buffing Tanks. I have pretty much decided just to run them. You can argue with the wind or you can put a sail on your boat and go with it.
  21. Flat out wrong. Brutes were nerfed on live a couple times and Scrappers outdamage them. (pssst, look at the charts) and Tankers had more armor. Now Tankers do more damage than Brutes or Scrappers thanks to giant AoE patches and damage scalar buff, ...still have more armor.
  22. I get why the Devs wanted to buff the crap out of Tanks. But since it breaks character creation by making only one optimal melee AT class it really sucks the fun out of choosing.
  23. Tankers damage was way buffed recently. This is because the current Devs make little secret that they are writing the content for a team of Corruptors and one Tank. Sure, you can bring something else. And do slightly (greatly?) worse. They are rewarding the buff debuff mechanics and individual players that are not tam focused can just deal with it. Tankers were rewarded because the Devs need one Tank to make the mmorpg combat model work.. Brutes? Been getting hit with the nerf bat since they came out. Shocked that Tanks are doing better than Brutes? I would be shocked if they were not. Scrappers have largely been ignored, Stalkers got a major rewrite. Brutes? You mention Brutes? Quick, someone grab the nerf bat!!!
  24. If you are planning on tanking take taunt. Anyone can squeeze it on uses no slots and best control power in the game
  25. Some people do not know better. My first year playing City of Villains was sooooo hard lol. I loved it. I am dumb now, I was ignorant, unteachable, and dumb then. Being able to realize people are acting out of little awareness does not change my response. No, I am not hauling you through this just because I custom build toons to crush content. I always PUG the TF/SF . All of them. I did not choose PUG life, PUG life chose me. But I have noticed more people having no clue in the last mission of Posi 1 lately. Again, I take hope in this. You are either very drunk or very new to not know thst mission. Most of our drink and play community still get that right. So we must have new players! You are probably right about Ruin mages not being level 9 or below. Smart. Running Posi 1 low level was bad at first due to the bug spawning Buzzsaw at 15 no matter what. Saw a few teams fall to those blades lol. Just got into the habit of PUGging it at 15+
