i am not great at Sentinels. here is a good resource for Rad. No one reviewed Regen. I am not good at Regen but I would build it "balls to the wall" with decent defenses, as much +health as was easily grabbable, and F resistance and the horse it rode over on. Oh, and take your Rez. To me, that would mean Winter sets, as they have very good all around defenses. and Thrundertrike if you can rebuild to get 45% softcap.

The sets with Defenses (may...depending on your primary/secondary) be more useful if Defense helps get to a goal. Sentinels do a different job than most using Blast sets. With their secondary armor, inherent to weaken targets, and shorter range/less AoE they are definitely in a different spot than most ATs using ranged ST.

I came into the game on live late. 2? Years in. I bought the “Good vs Evil” edition at a local game store and started a villain on Liberty. Fing ghost town lol. And yet…. Even then you could find an “old timer” dying to tell you stories of Tankers herding all of Perez Park in a parade or herding countless mobs to a dumpster where a Blaster would melt the trash. And I am sure you can still find these wizened creatures. as stated above the OG devs quickly realized the game was unbalanced without agro caps and hit caps. The random? Number they selected has now become the basis for balancing mob placement in every mission TF SF and Trial created since then. What you are asking is like requesting if driving through parks could be optional. The city is just not designed for it.

in my opinion ranged ST sets are.... not enough. the choices for a truly fine build rapidly evaporate. of course you use ARMAGEDDON. with so other few good choices.... yeah If you are building for ranged defense. THUNDERSTRIKE... But I have went years on ranged defense Blasters. Let me tell you.... Killing everything in a room is way better than trying to have defense. You want big hard hitting AoEs, with enough CC to give you time to keep cycling more AoE DPS. GLADIATORS JAVELIN. A nice set. That offers little for me in set bonuses. I think ONCE have I found a way to get two +3 PvP set knockback protections on that I actually wanted. Saving me from throwing KB prot in fly, generally getting Winters Gift then. BUT it just does not happen. The PvP sets dont "sit well" in Blaster builds. They offer very good set bonuses that synergize with absolutely nothing. WINTERS BITE Lets just start with the PROC, which is near useless. -speed?-recharge? if you are ST shotting something, it needs to die. fast. Anything that stays up long (AV/GM) will shrug off the stupid effect. The set bonuses synergize well if you are building all around high defenses. On...a Blaster? See notes on Thunderstrike. DEVASTATION Another decent set with bonuses that dont synergize well and a useless PROC DECIMATION. Tops out at 40, but has a build up and a global recharge. situationally useful. OVERWHELMING FORCE A pretty good set. But will almost always be prioritized to an AoE with KB, netting good set bonuses and getting a CC knockdown. That leaves your Archetype Enhancers, which one set might go in one ST blast and make sense, but generally that is not answering the main question, just putting it off.

I too am working a lot. But CoH is my only game. Not that i play much now. But i do game twice a week with Justice Superteamers on Excelsior and that is awesome time. I wish I could blame villains but i think someone else is responsible.

The policy has been in place. For YEARS. If you move into a house, and there are signs posted that the city does not allow street parking on Thursday. (With a addendum, not currently enforced). Then two years later the city notifies you it will now enforce the policy. You were notified. You just do not like the fact because your wheelless 1980 cadillac has been sitting outside your house on the street. it has been the policy for 3? Or 4? Years. Just not enforced. But we all knew the day was coming. Now it is Thursday. Move the heap in front if your house. Here us an idea. Put wheels on the F-ing thing and naybe wash it once in a while.

As a suggestion, try getting the +25% enhancement bonus and the intuition alpha +20% and sling some cones around. It is a dramatic difference…

Okay, take it from someone who uses a LOT of cones. This works but saying this one bonus is unimportant is like telling a Dom this one recharge bonus is unimportant. They all add up and it is almost an art to squeeze them all on and still hit your other build goals. yes, it is just one +5% range. Each journey is made up of single footsteps

right, but it is NOT easy to get there. really. either you have too few (or just enough) ranged AoE/Sniper attacks, or your other build goals are against using the slots that way.

to be honest with the +45% range bonuses I rack up on my long range Blasters.... it is enough. The cones get really sweet. even 40' cones cover 60' 60 get 90, more than a typical ST blast. The longer range attacks just reach everywhere. AR/Devices with +45% range is a murder machine.

I rabidly chase range bonuses on certain characters. Getting the +25% from sets and +20% from intuition alpha makes a giant difference

not according to my weird slotting. I chase odd bonuses. Take +range bonuses. Say you are running an electric Blaster. You could 2 slot bombardment. (probably acc/dam/end/rech or acc/end/rech) + PROC, getting +5% range. (Electric is, of course, all ranghed, and you will work to get +25% range bonus from sets, plus range bonus from intuition alpha. Distance is safety) THEN 5 slot Ragnarok. To me that is a 7 slot dream. I only add PROCs after the power is enhanced well usually. I chase set bonuses. In the case of a fully ranged blaster +range, +acc, +rech are all way up on the list. Probably have ranged defense as a build goal as well.

If you have the endurance (and you should) you can skip hover unless you want it for muling LOTG. I run fly or mystic fly on almost all my characters and never turn it off.

it's these type of design questions that feed the desire. Since it is already in the code.... I suggest ONE slot for 100 Veteran levels. I only have a few 100 vet level toons on HC. It is a real achievement (for a non farmer)
