Is it time to reimagine the Flight Pool?
Snarky replied to Scarlet Shocker's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I rarely take “extra” powers. Mule powers, situational powers etc. most of these may as well never exist for me. I go deep into primary and secondary and epic. 1 travel power and some leadership. Sometimes maneuvers tactics and assault. But only because they add a alot and i am slotting the powers i took as much as possible. But Afterburner? I really tried to get Afterburner as much as possible. It is bittersweet that it is “free” but on cooldown now -

Corruptors are all S class. Even the most bleh combos. You are using a Fire Blast Corruptor. So that, to me, is the cornerstone of why it is so effective. One of the most awesome, maybe the most awesome, archetype in the game. Then the best DPS attack set. Beyond that I can say little of use. I can madly speculate, but it would be heavy on madness and light on information

Is it time to reimagine the Flight Pool?

When i started i fell in love with fly. One of the many reasons, and in the top ten, why i play here instead of WoW is fly. I use Fly or Sorcery Fly on 99% of my toons. The others are quickly dropped anyways on my early melee i would pick aor superiority to get to fly as a travel power. now i take Fly only. I rarely take hover. I turn fly on. I leave fly on. Unless my end bar is just horrid i am flying. i like fly with the speed boost. I am learning to use sorcery fly with TP, but do not like as much. Fly is slow. My only complaint. Why does it need to be slower than every other travel power? What balance is achieved by that? -

asking people not to use Foldspace is a lost cause asking people not to be stupid using Foldspace is, again, a lost cause

Just in that Seed fight in 1st ward. for me anyways. People are always finding new ways to use powers. Theoretically you could get an enemy to confuse you and cast group fly on the enemy and screw their strategy hard. Complicated but i think possible
-
Group Fly is the one option in Null I am always iffy about. Because.... When you randomly do First Ward Seed it can kill your fly. But gives you a "group fly power" If you have nerfed group fly then.....

If we are discussing enhancements -
Fire is the only primary i can get away with this. The huge dps allows me to play like a Brute even though have no armor and little defense. Dead things do not attack back. When mistakes are made (rare but happens) there is Rise of Phoenix. I do not take melee attacks. It is just out of pure disrespect. Why do i need to walk up to you to kill you? I can do that from 80’ away. But the toon just runs into every fight. Preferably first. No Tank, no Brute etc. i have joined fire farms with him and not died. ( small data set but it worked for half hour!). That had tanks/ brutes but i regularly jumped to next spawn first. Did not die
-
My fire blaster has a deep strategy. Aim buildup jump i to the largest spawn NUKE jump into next spawn incarnate NUKE. Look at large spawn 60 ft away drop both AoE Rains. Start ST and fireball anybody that is alive and running towards me and not away. It is subtle but it works

The Paradox of the Well of the Furies

WoW fails it this both ways. They create a world, which as usual is based on the epic actions of others. standard, and a fail. Then every character in WoW is THE "speaker of the horde" "first alliance member to discover" etc. It's like going to Disneyland and paying $200 to be "Mickey's best friend ever" only to walk through the gate and see 4000 people with the same hat "Mickeys Best Friend Ever" the Well is ill decsribed and out of the way enough not to bother me -

Squirrels. The squirrels ate the phlogiston. Now the only way to get power ( and a decent cup of cocoa) is to boil the squirrel crap and drink it. Then you become more powerful. Squirrels…
