  1. Seriously, is there an easy way to modify this? I do not like to open random links so i avoid most of the above "go here" instructions. But trying to do story arcs became noticeably more painful my last run through all of redside due to this stupid problem
  2. Endurance is fine. At normal 50 play (+4 ITf, BAF, etc) i use Dark Consumption as a ghetto AoE. Malta Sappers and Freakshow are not a real issue unless you get unlucky. Some of the F-ing Rularuu and DE, in large quantites however. Oof. I keep a P2W recovery Serum charged for such occasions I do run Cardiac Core, but even Exemplared Endurance is a lazy fix with Dark Consumption every 2 minutes or so tops. Since it recharges in less than a minute that is never an issue. I take Ageless for the Recharge, but mostly to get Soul Drain up. That is the keystone to attack with Dark Melee. I fly all the time. Not hover, fly. Again, i have zero endurance issue. So, one 4 pt KB prot is wonderful. The rare times something gets through I just spin in the air. KB Prot goes like this. Less than 4, garbage. 4 is good. 5-11 is pretty much like 4 90% time, maybe 95%. 12 is really good.

  4. I am exploring ideas for running a squishy over the next year. I know it will be a Dark/Dark something.... CoH gives good choices there. For a Blaster I have a few questions. Dark/Dark is obviously a near range set, with PBAoE and wanting to spam Touch of the Beyond often. Does it make sense to pursue Abyssal Gaze and Soul Storm Hold for ST? Does it make sense to pursue Dark Pit and Oppressive Gloom Stun for AoE? The thinking here would be toggle on Oppressive Gloom, go in and hit Blackstar, then have Dark Pit available to stack stuns if things are still not good. I realize all these strategies will depend on content. Each Incarnate Trial is different. But running hard 50 teams is any of this valid thinking or am I chasing shiny objects for no reason? I am relatively certain Death Shroud is a useless agro magnet. I see nothing to mule into it and it does not provide -tohit which would be the one reason I might consider it seriously. Thank you for any replies.
  5. Here is the build I am playing with. as with all my Dark/Dark theme I tend to emulate CoT tactics. Debuff my opponents Accuracy becomes a primary goal. I always want to hit, I never want my opponents to hit. therefore I have softcap on Ranged Def, huge accuracy bonuses, and went Dark Mastery Ancillary. This was mostly due to the fact Soul Drain has a larger radius on Dark Mastery than it does on Soul Mastery. I run a Dark/Dark Brute. That is a sweet buff when saturated. 6. That is why I run a vampire character and never lead. I am just draining your life force away. btw, thanks. Delicious.
  7. I am putting together a Dark Dark Corruptor to see if I enjoy the playstyle. While I was Redside exclusively Live, (except for the last year or so when I wanted to team lol,) I never played Corruptors because I was pissed Corruptors were "support" and "healers" and I wanted a villain BLASTER. Then we got Going Rogue and....Blasters do not Blast (imo) They PBAoE Scrap mostly. I struggle with these concepts like Monk struggles with lamp posts. Just cannot leave it alone. Anyways, a few weeks have passed in my gaming experience and I have become older, not necessarily wiser, but definitely older. I have come to believe on a team or league (especially the current very high damage iterations people are running) that a Corruptor brings more to the table than a Blaster. I am sure part of that depends on situation and player skill, but in my view of game theory that is how I see it. I am hooked onto Dark/Dark for concept reasons. Will be running either Dark or Soul as my ancillary/patron. I am hoping for some advice to a new Corruptor. WTF do I do? I have run one Ice/Cold Corruptor at 50 for a few weeks. Very powerful. Pretty much hover, debuff, and drop AoE patches. Dark/Dark looks to be a very different animal. So, any advice on a Dark/Dark Corr's powers would be great. What to take, what to avoid. What is bread and butter gotta have, what is "okay if you like to run it this way" I do enjoy cones. My favorite Blaster is a Dark/Mental/Soul with 5 cones. In fact, my goal here is to play a character that is more powerful than that Blaster. I enjoy he thing but I want more toolkits than "run in, Drain, PbAoE, run out, cone for 30 secs. repeat now." Thank you for any advice and feedback.
  8. My main Brute used RoP. Due to running him all the time he is often called to Tank. So, I invested, a lot...in an alt Tank build. Kept RoP. The main build I respec'd out of RoP. Havent missed it. Of course a Brute's Armor is slightly...a tiny bit...better than a Corruptor. I am building a Corruptor and seeing if I can learn the tactics and enjoy the build AT. It will be a Dark Dark. I never considered RoP for it. My idea was softcap Ranged Def and maybe something else if I got lucky and try for other build goals like Rech and Dam
  9. ...i literally never knew we had a comic culture board lolololol
  10. It is not a Discord thing. My SG was on Discord last night. We ran MLTF LRTF ITF back to back. It was mentioned in Discord some people struggle NOT to speed the first two specifically. Because if you know the objectives, and know you can knock out an objective, why would you fight every mob on a two hour map instead of going and doing the objective? We barely discussed the TFs. We chatted and BS'd and joked. Those three TFs in particular are very objective oriented. No kill alls. (unless you decide to do a kill most ITF....) On kill most ITF PUG teams....not much team chat. I have ran...a few. There aint much except hi at the beginning, thanks at the end. Maybe once or twice "over here" in the middle.
  11. I prefer my team leaders be miserable. Warms my undead heart.
  12. i have traditionally been a redsider loner who will PUG any TF. about 5-6 weeks ago I sought out an active SG. They have a solid structure. I had to get Discord set up, refrain from causing excessive damage to base equipment. not drool on myself (in public) It was a good decision. I am (surprisingly) enjoying the camaraderie on Discord. The SG has a daily (and sometimes 2xday) event planned. They are active. They do hard stuff. They get badges. They are fun to be around. My first step was going to the Excelsior forums to look for a likely SG. Then I just broadcast on Help looking for someone from the SG. I got an immediate tell. I think I had pugged with quite a few of the SG mates in the past. Again, I will PUG anything and had been on my main for months. So I think i was a "known quantity" to them. I do recommend joining an active SG with a character you plan to play. A LOT. I am on my main 90%+ time I am in game. I tend to respond to any request in Help for "can someone help me complete X, fight AV, find glowie?" I treat SG and Coalition Team recruiting with same priority. If you want to be part of a group, jump in with both feet. Good luck in your search and have a great time in the City that is back from the dead! (I do love a story about the undead....)
  13. What is a team window?
  14. That was just the story arc to unlock him, after that he just showed up in combat and said "Holy greenhouse Batman, Poison Ivy pwnd U"
  15. I think about this crap way too much. But is Robin an actual teammate, a sidekick, or really, for all intents and purposes, a late build epic pet?
  16. errr, I cleaned for 20 minutes and shoved all the crap I keep all over it onto a bunch of shelves lol. (I am in a clean/detail my living area phase, had not hit the Desk yet...) Then I took the picture.
  17. I am on Excelsior. I am guessing there is like a 80% chance you would get an immediate response to a post in LFG or Help "Praetorian level 12 desperately wants 20 (get me outta Goldside!) in AE Pocket D need a Farmer to get me to 20 please..." This is like 10 min work for a Farmer, tops.
  18. Yeah, the idea of a Dark/Dark Corruptor has been percolating in my head for a while. Had a level 1 parked in Atlas. I took my alt account and farmed him to 20 last night. Will throw some basic slotting on that and a few I/Os and dance through Posi 1/2, Synapse, etc. anything Redside I can get (preferably all TFs done in level order) THis is how I start to train/learn on any new toon. Even Brutes if I have not run the powersets previously. I love TFs, and there is no better lab for learning to play a character imo.
  19. Really appreciate the insight. These bits really stood out to me. Defender? Wow!!! I have decided to make attempts with Corruptor and Defender and see what I like / dislike. Really nice to know Offender is an option. A corner pull! Damn, I miss strategy lol. Thanks for the tip for solo. Cone? Fuggedaboutit. My favorite Blaster is a Dark/Mental/Soul 5 cones. Joust in for Drain Psyche and PBAoE madness. Then zip out or up to Cone the Zone. /i only switch to ST for AV Lot of good info. Thanks for rambling.
  20. while i will be in leagues slightly more often than teams it is almost 50/50. Yet i was leaning to Defender...try something new. i am such a grumpy old set in my ways redsider lol. But I really have not run corruptors much...and this line of reasoning saves me an all important power pick! Ta Dah! Thank you. Now I am leaning hard toward Corruptor! Redside: Best Side.
  21. Thank you for the great replies! This is helping a lot. I am heavily leaning toward Defender or Corruptor. As a Redsider I am drawn to Corruptor. But I want to make the pick that is most beneficial to Team/League. I heard Corruptor Tar Patch received an "adjustment" These are the exact same sets but reversed. Due to the Scaling and AT how different are they?
  22. Sizing up a character for my next big huge epic project. I am seriously considering running a squishy for a main. (thankfully e-mail can carry Rez inspirations...) I want to go Dark/Dark. I have played a Dom once in a while, and taken a Dark/Dark to 30. My first serious Corruptor was actually just a month or two ago. I may never have rolled and definitely have not played a Controller or Defender. I will want to go Dark/Dark/Dark or Dark/Dark/Soul. I want the character to be useful at level 50 TFs and Incarnate Trials. Where do I go from here oh good and gentle town folk of locker C-18?
  23. I use a Razer Taterus left hand setup and a mouse right hand. I am semi ambidextrous, depending on task and mood. I have a dedicated side button for tab nearest on the Tarterus. That is my go to. Since i run Brutes 90% time I rarely need anything besides tab nearest. I chest bump the next dance partner, tab nearest and wail away. Sometimes I do use mouse targeting, That is more precise....until the screen is a mish mash of enemies and special effects. Then, back to chest bump and hope for the right target. Wrong one? Hit it anyways and chest bump its neighbor. That AV is around here somewhere....I think....Cant see a damn thing
  24. 1) it is complicated 2) the rewards are not great 3) it is not in a popular zone 4) 1&2 combine to make it even tougher. Since no one does it no one knows it so no one does it because no one knows it.
