I have some thoughts. A person once told me how expensive focused Accuracy is to run. I LOVE high accuracy (laced all through my build) But you are (in my opinion) giving up a ton of Ranged AoE to get Energy Pool. And Dark/Dark is a bit lacking in AoE and has no Ranged.... Don;t get me wrong, I love the over the top Energy Mastery Pool. But I have ZERO issues with Endurance, and very rare instances of Accuracy problems. Speeding out the door to work. I will look at your overall slotting for ideas to steal tonight! lol

Need Help from a Historian: "Redside: Best Side"
Snarky replied to TemporalVileTerror's topic in General Discussion
On October 31, 2005 City of Villains was introduced. Two new villains logged into the game, fought their way from the Zig and ended up at Fort Darwin. A team formed and off the duo went to beat down Longbow and search for clues about the infected. The two teammates (the history is old, but I was told their names were Flamesy and Thiswillwork) got discussing how Back Alley Brawler was so pissed about The Rogue Isles he got drunk and killed (...err...arrested?) someone in Pocket D that night. Upon being told this Flamesy looked at Thiswillwork and said "Redside: Best Side." The two laughed and started shouting this in local, broadcast and zone. It just took off from there. I learned this from a janitor at the University in Cap au Diable. -
When I built his Tank second build I rebuilt the 'main' build and dropped Rune of Protection. Honestly I do not miss it. Will keep it on the Tank build (The team comes first when running a Tank) This Villain build was built using Mids Reborn 3.0.4.7 https://github.com/Reborn-Team/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! I run a SS/FIre Brute for Farming. It does HUGE Damage. Does not need more Fire armor, see no reason to go Tank with it other than slightly more AoE. (Footstomp AoE effectively does not get larger on a Tank) Slap an incarnate Alpha Assault and a Hybrid Melee on it for MORE DAMAGE. It is plenty tanky enough. (for fire farms specifically) I use a build Hyperstrike posted on the Brute Forums. I might tweak it hard for game content but for Fire Farms? Fuggedaboutit. lol, i grew up in Kentucky. use your imagination. My ex-wife was an English major. For the first year we were together I would use a word. She would say "you do not know what that word means." So i would spell it, define it, use it in a sentence. She would say. "Okay, but that is not how you say that."

It ain't ranged. There are certain odd builds that "approach" ranged. But they are half gimped to start. Ranged is a very simple word. Two syllables. One meaning. Blasters are glass cannons, but they are not fully ranged by design. They are best described through the nickname "Blappers" They have a LOT of PB and Melee ranged attacks. If you make one fully ranged there is about a 95% chance you have completely hobbled the build. If you want to look at one outlier in the entire spectrum of Blasters and say "that one is ranged" therefore Blasters are ranged.... Just, wow. So, again. No matter how many times they say it to you, Blasters were not designed as Ranged. Yes, i know it lets you pick "Ranged" on the character creator. Isn't marketing a beautiful thing? Do you always believe what people sell you? Does that make you happy?

Look. i only have so many more decades to get to Legendary. We inhabit a revived, back to life, iconic MMORPG that people still look at as a trailblazer and high mark in the world, So Legendary.....I would take that.

Is there any way to make teams less boring?
Snarky replied to RogueWolf's topic in General Discussion
That is some quality Snark right there. -
So, funny as it seems this was a topic in Help a couple days ago. A long time Brute player I tried, for like two sentences, to speak some balance to this. Only to be shot down with wild inaccuracies. Left ol' Snarky scratching my head. laughed. walked away. So, Lets discuss Brutes! How does Fury, Enhancement, Damage Cap, Resists, Health, etc all go into making the glorious battle lovin' AT that so many of us love to rock through content. Oh, and Brutes are BAAAAAAD. (in a very powerful way) M'kay?

Have 1st level NPCs stop pushing my Brutes and Tanks out of their way. Its embarrassing. Have the Vanguard Operative stop telling me to Step over to him so he can check my clearance. Its starting to make my eye twitch. I am starting to put my character there when I am AFK and just beat the idiot with a bat. My hope is he will either die or start to remember who I am.

Forming Teams :: is it too scary to lead/recuit?
Snarky replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
I have had good luck with Radio teams in PI on Excelsior. Usually my go to after 30s whenever there is no TF I am interested in. Team leaders I have encountered there run quite a regular pattern and do not dissolve quickly. They add as peeps leave. I would guess my avg missions are between 5-10 with each team before I need a break or something comes up -

Snarky replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
XP Leech. So F-ing derogatory. Look, we are almost all of us trying to get Exp, usually for an alt. Half the time on a 50 you join for a kill badge or getting inf/drops as you have fun. XP leech implies someone not trying or who has a less than toon or who doesnt know fights/mechanics and is not optimal. BS. As long as you "mostly" try to help you are not a leech. When I join a +4 kill all ITF on a 35 Brute guess what I do? Kill Surgeons. All the Surgeons, and Engineers if I get mistaken. It helps. Not leading the charge to Rom, but doing something. -
i am horrid at mods. i dont update map overlays because i cant figure them out. however... i have studied art. and the solution is as simple as your icon. Have a blue field with 1, 2, 3, or 4 on it depending on insp size. Some clever person down in the keybinds forum no doubt can tell you exactly where to paste them and how.

Forming Teams :: is it too scary to lead/recuit?
Snarky replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
There were two LGTFs recruiting last night at the same time. One ad was "Speed LGTF forming" the other "LGTF forming in RWZ" I joined the second. A 50 was leading, so no star passing. I said "Heyas", and asked "Is this Speed?..or...?" No response. No problemo, I already kind of got the read. Turns out I was correct. We killed most on the way to the targets and mission objectives. I was on my Brute. I took off from the group to the next fresh mob every chance I got, never farther than a room away. The team had no heals so I ran Rebirth Core, always making sure to get back into the middle of the pack and hit it whenever it was up. The team was not killing as fast as my SG (Thankfully, those peeps leave me sprinting more than killing half time!) but they were doing okay. We had a alien killing spree from door one to the end battle. It was a hoot. This is another reason I do not lead teams. There are teams available. Doing what I am interested in doing. That would be okay with me on the team. That I can help. That I do not have to recruit, corral, be ignored by, or solve problems for. I can just join a team and Brute! This is what I do to relax after all.... -
Yomo's Whizbang Potpourri Extravaganza of a Giveaway!

You have inspired me. First, thank you for helping the community. Second, every day or so I see someone posting in help "Where do I buy enhancers" or "I used to play on live, and I just found out Homecoming is running CoH!" I take a couple minutes to track down the poster and slap 20 mil on them. It is not organized like you are doing (I do not have that kind of cash, nor the desire to be that organized) but I have LOT of fun with it. My guess is 6,23 Billion edited! (and edited again) -

Forming Teams :: is it too scary to lead/recuit?
Snarky replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
I would be tempted to join the TF. I wouldn't. I don't want to troll the poor souls that were just trying to join a TF. But it would be so tempting to join and then just start doing the oddest things I could think of. riding elevators up and down. agroing mobs then running madly to the end of the mission all the while asking "what do i do?" So many ideas.... -
Forming Teams :: is it too scary to lead/recuit?
Snarky replied to UltraAlt's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, this paragraph really starts to bring clarity to why I avoid leading. Even attempting to explain logic and common sense here will start with crayons. I can somewhat handle it on the boards where I can think about my replies. In game? It is like being on a freeway doing 60 and someone cuts you off "because you werent driving right" Passing the star to the person who is high enough level so everyone gets max powers for the TF is SOP (this means standard operating procedure) It is NOT team stealing. If the 50 wanted a team, trust me, they could get a team. I reluctantly take the star in such situations. Before recent changes it used to mean more work as well, when the TF leader had to do a lot of running around in some TFs. But you will no doubt take my attempts at common sense and standard play as a personal attack and referendum on possible hygiene issues. It is not. This is why I avoid leading. too annoying -
There is no order. Time is not a constant but instead is an illusion that so many desperately cling to in hopes of finding meaning. Look deeper into the moments and you will see that we repeat our lives endlessly, existing in someway outside of any discernable pattern.

Is there any way to make teams less boring?

agree wholeheartedly with both previous posts. But I am getting older (still Snarky! just posted in Ouro "everyone, why dont you stand here right on the portal" - must have been 15 of them lol) But on teams i try to be polite. I wait a good 30 seconds after zoning and unless everyone is there I NEVER start racing through. (unless it was posted speed run) PUGs I assume someone will get their knickers in a wad so I just chill a moment. I will leave the team if it gets over militaristic. I have even been globally ignored (and hunted/trolled on the forums!) for not "sticking with the team" wtf, really? happened to me lol. I will range a bit, just my nature. If I see a squishy struggling I will make a note to stay close to them and try to take agro. I do know teamwork. But, c'mon, most of us are corvettes around a go cart course. -

A 'guilty' pleasure of mine is Synapse TF at +0. I love taking a new alt and seeing how they perform in that. down from the 1:30 avg when HC started up thanks to things like TT. Still, an hour or so of 'enforced' teamwork is good for the soul of the game....in my opinion.
