  1. It's a power availability thing. I use the same bind for 3 different Destiny powers (Barrier Core, Barrier Radial, and Clarion Core), and it only fires the one that is actually slotted at the time because it skips the others. If more than one power is available and listed in the bind, it doesn't skip them - it tries to activate them in order left-to-right, then, before the power ever starts activating, it moves on to the next one. So the last available power in the list is the one activated.
  2. (alternatively) They're both terrible quality, but you can't have Warner Brothers classical masterpieces without the Anvil Chorus!
  3. It responds to AT modifiers, also. See? Cold shield, in original chocolate or vanilla flavors. Red hair and pigtails not included.
  4. And is easily masked by other aura effects on the mobs, such as Reactive's -resistance, debuff toggles, or any number of other particle effects. Long story short, there isn't any way to automatically target contaminated enemies, and you already know that the manual way requires paying attention - either to the message as it appears, or to the possibly-hidden marker on the mobs. On my Rad/Elec Brute I usually just focus on the biggest mob, and use Fusion to increase the chance of splash damage... even without turning on either damage aura (I was stealthing a mission and didn't want to waste the animation time for 3 mobs) I've had nearby minions die before the boss does.
  5. Dionne Warwick - Deja Vu Also, fixed that for you.
  6. This. It saves slots if you're just trying to enhance certain aspects of the power, saving you slots that you can use elsewhere (usually to get preferred set bonuses) or giving you a higher enhanced value for the same number of slots. Like everything build-related, it's a trade-off: you don't get the set bonuses from HOs, you can use boosters to get the numbers from multi-aspect IOs, but the HOs have better initial numbers and you can't boost attuned IOs.
  7. I was actually referring to the Hellion AV (the first one you run into), but you also have the Vahz or Lost ones before you get to the Hydras. Baby AVs, sure... but AV class enemies. In any case, "tanking" an AV is expected behavior for someone in a team setting for many story arcs, or for trials and task forces; soloing an AV is the "unusual" case (that any AT can be built for, thus the quotes around unusual), and herding AVs would be "endgame content" (see: LRSF).
  8. Not really. You run into - and someone tanks - your first AV while running a DFB, usually without any enhancements slotted.
  9. It's a cold shield sponsored by Wendy's.
  10. Read the paragraph below the one you quoted. If there isn't a "tank AT", someone is going to end up filling the role. The person who should do it is the best capable person who is willing to do so. That hasn't changed since launch. What has changed, is what the "best capable person" is; taunt auras make it easier to hold aggro, but by themselves they don't make a good tank - especially not if your build can't handle the mobs you're going after. Which is squishier, a Tanker built with SOs or an IO'd Scrapper build to the softcap with capped resistances?
  11. If someone else is running it, you can get the badge just by being on the last mission, too. I had the badge at level 23 on my first character after the servers came back up - I got on a team that was running all of the arcs right at the end of Scirocco's first arc. That character didn't pick a patron until around veteran level 18.
  12. Fixed that for you. Player capabilities, both through new powersets and enhancements. Honestly, the role of "aggro management" on small teams consists of "who has mez protection?" because you want someone taking the attention who isn't going to be immediately stopped after the first mez. Scrappers fit the bill there - so do Stalkers, but they have powers that specifically shed aggro and redistribute it to other team members. Taunt auras make it easier but they aren't essential. Also, Energy Aura originally was available only for Brutes and Stalkers, and didn't have a taunt aura. It was changed to have one for Brutes because not having a taunt aura and having a stealth power made it the worst set for maintaining Fury on teams, if you could get on one in the first place due to Brutes being the only "aggro-gathering" AT redside at the time. I had a pre-buff DM/EA, and you were either always switching targets or using Taunt every time it recharged just to keep a small spawn's attention on you if anyone else was doing damage. I think that Scrappers get the taunt as part of the port, just because a lot of the proliferation decisions seemed to be based on the porting low-hanging fruit with the least amount of changes required.
  13. That's the single kill-all that uses up a mission drop. Or just go after them: it's annoying having to track them down, but it's just Crey and Arachnoids.
  14. M:tG 8th edition was July 2003, World of Warcraft was November 2004.
  15. Except for, I dunno, maximizing the utility of most of those taunt auras since most of them scale based on the number of targets affected, grouping mobs together for more efficient AoE usage, and possibly, just maybe, keeping aggro off of more squishy ATs?
  16. The only thing about this statement that I would point out is that Incarnate powers are not available for all content: for example, while running Task Forces with a level cap lower than 45. Not that it will make that much difference in my opinion, but tests at level 44 (max non-Incarnate, but you have all of your powers) might be worthwhile, and every 5 levels from 25-40 for "levelling build tests" might be appropriate, even if they're for a 50 that's exemplared to do relative performance testing at the default TF "cap" levels. Below that, you don't have Rage available, although Knockout Blow comes very early (20) compared to other sets' heavy hitters (35-38, with a few exceptions). Yes, it's less than a handful of hours to get to level 50 on an alt in a farm, but even for a level 50 you may not always be playing content at that level. Eh... I guess procs could fall under the recharge category, but I would consider it a third option. Frankenslotting would be a fourth, but while it can free up slots it's far less effective than the others and usually more of an add-on to one of the others with the current economy instead of a full-build option to maximize enhanced values of every power.
  17. Fixed that for you. It's not an exact one-to-one because Fault needs a target, but it's the same size radial AoE with the same stun magnitude and duration... with a 30 second recharge instead of 20. It could use a buff without changing it to a damage power.
  18. I would've suggested Claws/DA (higher psi resistance, higher negative resistance for Ring Mistresses) or Claws/Elec (higher fire resistance, better drain resistance) for Carnies, but Widows also do a really good job against them. Electric Armor works well against Malta, also. Sappers? Oh, you mean those little minions that just tickle every now and then...
  19. When I'm trying to organize one, I occasionally advertise it as a dev-sponsored S/L farm.
  20. Just to clarify, the change to the Brute ranged damage modifier - currently on the beta server - only affects three powers in the game currently: the attacks in the Sorcery and Force of Will pools. The epic and patron ranged attacks currently use the melee damage modifier instead of the ranged modifier, so there will not be a damage buff coming out of this for those, and any ranged attacks in the melee damage sets continue to use the melee damage modifier.
  21. Wrong GM. Lusca is just misunderstood and keeps waving at people that come nearby!
