  1. There are a few topics (threads) in the general AT section, but they're usually skipped over due to the shortcuts to the AT-specific sections from the home page. I was just directing you there since that's usually where people post builds, either for critique or to show what they've come up with, and your initial post said you hadn't seen any of those. There isn't really one "post all of your builds here" section, so it's all good.
  2. Provoke is an AoE, Confront is single target. I had an available pool to take and could have had the AoE taunt. I could have used Victory Rush instead as a one-slot wonder. The idea in taking it was that I could pull one mob off of someone if they needed saving, but in reality it's so much easier to just use Dominate and in practice I'm not pulling anything off of a Brute or Tanker anyway. So how do I use it? Because it's not an AoE, I've used it to single pull AVs when a team didn't want to rush mobs for some reason (most recently to get the Army of Neu badge without drawing everyone else in, and used it again to keep Bobcat off of the Blaster who switched to the wrong mob when we were trying to get said badge while Neuron was off on his own). At least it's autohit; it could use the -range that the Scrapper versions get, though. :(
  3. Nonono, they need a(nother) buff. Really. >.> <.< Titan Weapons for Stalkers? I do think that some of the powersets need some looking at; why no -regen in Bio (the -res would be nice moved to the sleep aura, too!), why the nerfed stuns in Energy Melee, why no Fiery Embrance, why did every version of Ninjitsu that was ported get a +end power and KB protection but not for Stalkers... but the AT as a whole is in a pretty good place.
  4. Those posts are usually in the AT-specific forums.
  5. The Brute hard cap on max hit points? Dull Pain (and its copies) by itself isn't enough. Rounding to the nearest whole number, Brute max hp at level 50 is 1500. The hp cap is 3213. Dull Pain provides 300 enhanceable, and 300 non-enhanceable - enhance to 100% and you get +900. Accolades (+20%) will get you another 300; that totals to 2700, which is still 500 shy of the hp cap. You need another +33% max hp from somewhere. Set bonuses (particularly the Unbreakable Guard +7.5% is 113) and Rebirth Core can get you there for 10 seconds (+375) at a time, I guess, if you have overslotting to get higher than 100% heal on Dull Pain, but even then you aren't there permanently which was the whole point.
  6. I always cleared the map before rescuing her because otherwise she ends up trying to clear it by herself. Also, flip-flopping the psychic to fight the CoT ghosts and the melee to Banished Pantheon works really well.
  7. Well after, and as you said the first group of set bonuses was almost useless for resistance bonuses.
  8. You didn't lose me on it. But they already start with higher hit points than Scrappers, you're just saying "well, give them more." With the resistances you're getting with SO slotting, you're going to be living through another hit or two above what you can already handle. It'll make a difference, just not much of one. I got completely what you were doing at the resistance cap, but even you admit that's just shuffling numbers around. I only mentioned Overload because of your section on "are you sure there aren't nerfs in this" - without outside buffs, a Brute isn't hitting their hit point cap. There's also the point that if you maintain Fury, a solo Brute is likely going to be doing more damage than a solo Scrapper at those levels, too - you don't have many slots to benefit from the higher damage base, which doesn't fully kick in until the late teens anyway, while Fury is just there going strong from level 1 on. So I don't think Brutes need the help at low levels. Like @Bossk_Hogg said, this seems more like a solution looking for a problem than an issue that needs to be addressed.
  9. The performance shift due to IOs is because their defense and resistance modifiers are lower than a Tanker's, not because of their hit points; a larger hit point pool would mean that they can stay up for another hit or two. I just don't know that it would address the point you're trying to hit. I wouldn't worry about builds already at the hit point cap, though - I think the only set that can hit the Brute cap without outside buffs is Energy Aura, and only during Overload (the +hp portion is fully enhanceable for an extra ~1200 hp).
  10. Because they actually have attack chains below level 20 now. When you only had two attack powers because you had to fit in Stamina and/or a travel power, it was a lot harder to run out of endurance because most of the time you just stood there waiting for powers to recharge while your endurance recovered from the last attack. Honestly, I don't think Stalkers need a benefit to Hide, but I do think that many of the secondaries give up a lot for it.
  11. Peter Themari's second arc has you turn a prospective hero into a villain. You later run into her again in Vernon von Grun's arc.
  12. Cardiac Alpha. I use it on a couple of my characters. I tend to fight in melee with my Ice/Time Corruptor, and while it's more... interesting... than a Spines/Fire or even my Rad/Electric Brute on a +4/x8 Fire farm, it's also more than capable of surviving (I can't say the same about my Water/Kin Corruptor, who also fights in melee) - having a lot of +recharge and a pair of heals helps for the damage that gets through, and the resistance keeps it from being overwhelming. But I thought that the intent of the OP was to take a melee/primarily melee character and make them also provide good support, not a support character that can play in melee.
  13. But in the case of Tide Pods, the problem takes care of itself.
  14. There is one, it got moved to Suggestions and Feedback. I agree with the highlighted part, which is why I posted that there should be a separate thread for the PvP changes pages a while back. For what it's worth, there's also a PvE thread that was also moved to Suggestions and Feedback which had less traffic in it than the PvP thread.
  15. I don't normally bother to post my builds, because I don't consider most of to be anything special. Here's my Fortunata - who I made as primarily melee - that I run currently. There are some questionable picks - yes, I'm the idiot who took and occasionally uses Confront - but without even using the Confuse I rarely get into trouble: I'll get hit a few times and my hp will drop, but once the scaling resistances kick in, the regen and panacea proc is enough to counter the incoming damage long enough to clear them out, and in extended situations I have inspirations to help. And if you want them to stop attacking you, the Contagious Confusion proc in an AoE confuse is an almost guaranteed mag 4 for the duration of the proc. I typically target the boss in a spawn, hit Aim (which usually triggers the Gaussian's proc), Lunge for the crit on the boss, hit Follow Up for the +dam before Psychic Wail to kill or stun everything that's not a boss or psi-resistant, Spin to clean up straggler Lts, then Dominate/Follow Up/Lunge on whatever's left. On hard targets, I just cycle through the claw attacks and Dominate. The file didn't include my incarnate picks, but I went Musculature Radial, Ageless Core, Degenerative Radial, Banished Pantheon Core Lore (because double Assault), and Melee Core Hybrid. I'm also working on a Rebirth Radial Destiny to replace inspiration usage - it should be recharged between the times I need it, since I'm rarely using greens and even a single orange is often enough. Side note - I ended up just using a Thunderstrike Acc/Dam/End at +5 instead of wasting a Superior Winter's Bite in Dominate, but never updated the build.
  16. That's the joke - those are all Tanker secondary powers. Tanker primaries would give you Shield Charge, damage auras, and Burn.
  17. A level 50(+3) incarnated Stalker vs a level 22 Scrapper probably is, if for no other reason than due to the sheer number of slots available. The wiki on threat is good information otherwise, though. I'm still leaning towards the Scrapper having one of the autohit taunt auras active. At level 22, that would be: Bio / Evolving Armor Energy Aura / Entropic Aura (the mez protection toggle) Rad Armor / Beta Decay Shield / Against All Odds Willpower / Rise to the Challenge
  18. Without knowing the powersets, I'm guessing that the most likely cause is an aggro (taunt) aura in their secondary powerset. Beyond that, each AT has a threat modifier which is used as a base for drawing aggro. It's low for Stalkers (2, I think?), higher for Scrappers, and highest for Tankers - but that shouldn't have an effect if you're actively hitting the mobs and the Scrapper isn't.
  19. In practice, Fury makes up a lot of ground but it's all build-dependent. Assuming SOs (which is a bad assumption given the environment in Homecoming), using the same attack chain, assuming 95% damage slotting, 80% Fury for the Brute, and a 10% critical rate for the Scrapper. Brute: 1 * 0.75 * (1 + 0.95 + 1.60) = 2.6625 Scrapper: 1 * 1.125 * (1 + 0.95) * 1.1 = 2.413125 Throw in ATOs and you have Scrappers getting a 66% critical rate for 3 seconds at a time, multiple times per minute and Brutes getting up to around 90% Fury. Let's assume that the Scrapper is at 66% for 20% of the time they're attacking, and 16% for the rest of the time: Brute: 1 * 0.75 * (1 + 0.95 + 1.80) = 2.8125 Scrapper = (1 * 1.125 * (1 + 0.95) * 1.16 * 0.8) + (1 * 1.125 * (1 + 0.95) * 1.66 * 0.2) = 2.764125 The kicker is when you start throwing around extra +damage; Scrappers get a better self +damage modifier than Brutes, which applies to some secondaries. Let's look at a common Scrapper favorite, Bio Armor, which adds 31.5% damage as a +damage modifier (+25% for Brutes), and adds an unenhanceable hit (iirc 10% of base damage?) to each attack: Brute: 1 * 0.75 * (1 + 0.95 + 1.80 + 0.25) + (0.1 * 0.75) = 3.075 Scrapper = (1 * 1.125 * (1 + 0.95 + 0.315) * 1.16 * 0.8) + (1 * 1.125 * (1 + 0.95 + 0.315) * 1.66 * 0.2) + (0.1 + 1.125) = 3.3231375 Long story short is, keep Fury up and you'll be competitive with most Scrappers but will fall behind once damage buffs are added in.
  20. To be fair, even with the old formula you still wouldn't hit 100% Fury. They also reduced the rate of decay in the same patch (issue 18) while lowering the Brute damage cap.
  21. Widows get scaling resistance from two of their powers (Combat Training: Defensive, and Foresight) that starts once you drop below 75% health, and you can slot the Reactive Defenses scaling resistance IO to boost those some more. I also wouldn't say that a Widow is too fragile - if you want some more S/L resistance you can always dip into the Fighting pool, but I never needed to.
  22. I sit corrected. That means that, like Corruptors, they also have to use a buff or debuff to pass Blasters. Alas, poor Defenders... no longer the level 1 ranged damage kings. A moment of silence, please. You can tell how many Defenders I've made recently (but then, I've also only made 3 Corruptors on Homecoming). Even if I did I still probably wouldn't notice since I don't start monitoring combat attributes until later levels.
  23. This has been brought up repeatedly in the Tanker update threads in the beta section by people who want a higher aggro cap just for Tankers. The aggro cap is determined by enemy AI, and as such isn't something that can be changed for one AT (or one person). It can be manipulated by taunt powers causing which mobs are in the cap to switch quickly, but on any one tick the highest number of mobs that will attack you is 17.
  24. You forgot to include /screenshotui 1, otherwise the combat log isn't going to show up on the screenshots. While we're at it, let's actually show why the test is flawed horribly. Here's the ranged damage chart from City of Data (while out of date for some ATs on beta, the Blaster and Corruptor numbers have not changed since this archive snapshot): Hero Villain Level Bla Con Note that the "damage scale" of 1.125 vs 0.75 doesn't exist at low levels - the lower damage ATs get a boost to help them out early when they don't have many powers to use - but even at level 1 a Blaster will do more damage until the Corruptor Scourges, debuffs that target, or buffs their own damage. But the damage dealt is closest at level 1. A silly note: due to their inherent, a solo Defender will have a +20% damage buff. At level 1, this puts their damage on an unslotted attack (9.3 * 1.2, 11.16 total) higher than a Blaster's (10.25). So you can't ever use level 1 numbers to compare damage for the ATs, because it will lead you to the obvious conclusion that Defenders are the damage kings of CoH.
