Yeah, I know, that's why I said that's how I see it and I let people know it's what I think... just like you are. And I'm saying my opinion differs from your opinion, so I'm against the idea of adding more fluff to the code just because some people can't or won't take the time to read and understand the rules. And unless you are part of the HC team making a statement that we do need that kind of thing, then same thing to you about letting them decide what to work on. You could keep your opinion to yourself, but you chose to share it and I chose to share mine. Drop it.

Well, I'm against it. Not because I'm for the breaking of rules but because I see it as unnecessary and intrusive on the character creation screen, and why waste resources on it when the people who make those kinds of characters will still make those kinds of characters. Oh, I'm sure there are a handful out there who plead innocence to the rules. "Whaaaaat? We're not allowed to violate trademark law? Since when??" But I think most of the people who do it know damn well what they're doing and just don't care. They want to play their favorite character, or build off of someone else's intellectual property for their own "unique creation" that belongs-in-a-different-universe-but-they'll-rationalize-fitting-in-here-because-this-game-lets-them-make-what-they-want. Putting up signs saying "Don't do this" isn't going to discourage them any more than the EULA telling them it's against the rules. Some might take it as a challenge, like how seeing a "Keep off the grass" sign makes some people want to walk on the grass... like maybe putting up an extra notice in the character creation screen will have some going "Oh yeah, we'll see about that" and others trying to push the envelope of how close can they get but still claim their creation is different enough from the original. So discuss whatever you want, I think it's a pointless endeavor and just plain dumb.

Parodies may be protected under free speech, but that doesn't mean that HC has to allow them. The problem with parodies is determining whether or not they actually are parodies or an infringement on someone's trademark or copyright. You know where that determination is made? In court. Especially in the case of trademark law where trademarks must be defended or else presumed that the trademark holder has abandoned them. So while you are free to parody things on your own, if they look too spot on in this game then that's probably going to get targeted for genericization like any other non-parody trademark/copyright infringing character.

I didn't say that I was a member of the officially recognized, tax-exempt status religion based on and named after the trademarked and copyrighted term and concept of Jedi. I merely pointed out that they exist. If pointing out the existence of other people's craziness makes people crazies, then you too would be consider one of the crazies for pointing out the mail in order to find out about other crazies. Everyone is crazy.

I couldn't agree more. I would add that I would also like to be able to filter by zone currently parked in, which is info that is displayed on the character select screen, so it might be feasible. But other info I wish we could see at character select includes influence and also supergroup.

This worked out really well. I have this old martial arts character named Bearded Hero. I put him in Krea and replaced all the description of wearing a vest and blue jeans and a cowboy hat, and combat stance and background nonsense... and replaced it with two simple words: "Chuck Norris" I think Krea did pretty good... except for his right fist.

That would not bother me. But if that does happen, I think the next thing they need to work on is applying a +Burning flag and any critters that have that flag gain a +20% resistance to cold damage. How can you be freezing when you're on fire??

My attention was drawn to one of my older creations today, so I decided to Krea him up. Fish Head lives.

How would that work on characters that already have weapons holstered on their backs because they have the weapon powers that allow for that? What if someone is running an archery/ninja training blaster and has two weapons already holstered on their back and then add a third one? Or a fourth one if that blaster also took Weapons Mastery and gets an additional assault rifle to sling back there?

Devouring Earth wants to know: Do you want to be eaten? Can we eat you? How much nourishment do you think you can provide for our cause? You may be chosen for a higher purpose; if so, how do you feel about growing face tentacles? Are you willing to eat people for the cause?
