A 100% recharge boost does not mean powers will instantly recharge, but rather they will recharge faster. I have a guide on recharge in my signature block, if you'd like more information on the topic. But basically, what +100% recharge does is it reduces the amount of cooldown by an extra second for every second of gameplay that passes. So let's say you have a power that normally has a 60s recharge. You slot it with 100% enhanced recharge, the power now cools down in 30s. Thats because for every second of game play, the power reduces 1 second from your base (100%), and another 1 second from your enhanced (100%). So it doesn't come back instantly, it comes back faster.

What do you mean by expecting powers to instantly pop back up?

Great work and findings. This certainly explains why everyone loves procs in savage leap, double dipping with proc rolls is tasty. As for the damage from Assault-Radial's "Double-Hit", glad to see the formula in the OP matches what we see in the log. Using a cap of 30 seconds for the recharge (Savage Leap has 40s recharge, but we cap it to 30), we get 0.4x0.2x(0.8x40+1.8)x107.09 / 4 = 221.03/4 = 55.26 I noticed in your log the Epic Proc did 96.37 damage, which is 90% of 107.1, which is expected if facing a +1 enemy. So expecting the same 90% for double-hit gives us 55.26 x 0.9 = 49.73. In the log, we saw 49.72 repeatedly, so it checks out.

Hmmm...i would try to open mids 2.7.2.10 already, then open a build from it, selecting the .mxd that you can't open. If it doesn't work, go to Control Panel, Programs, find Mids Reborn and try to do a repair. If it still doesn't work, uninstall/reinstall

For Gaussian, slotting it in Buildup makes it reliable as you almost always have a 90% chance to proc GSFC when you cast it (if you have less than 60% slotted recharge, roughly). Tactics will only trigger once per 10s, and its AoE gives you a very small chance to proc. But when you have a bunch of teammates and pets, you get lots of opportunities to proc. So there is a point where you get enough of those opportunities to proc more frequently than slotting GSDC into Buildup. As for ForceFeedback, it can only buff you once on a cast. But it gets a chance to proc on every enemy you hit. So like in the tactics example, the AoE hurts your probability to proc off of an individual target, but the high number of targets makes it more likely you proc at least once. I can show you the math if you like, but hopefully that helps.

who needs a pocket defender when you can just roll with Recall Friend and Vengeance? Pocket Venge-Bait is all we need

I came across this while looking up the in game description and verified this using the API tool. Also, it seems this bug has been around since Live as City of Data shows the same information: Two things wrong with this: First, the Scourge damage is doing Negative Energy Damage (It should be either Smashing or Energy). Second, the Scourge damage doesn't add up to the normal damage. We should expect 148.48 SCOURGE. Instead, we get results like this: The fix for this is simple enough. The def files need to have the scourge effect fixed to the correct damage amount (148.48) and the correct damage type (energy, most likely)

thanks, I was also wondering about the Mids version you have. Just so there's no chance for confusion on my end.

New Archetypes - the things we do not have
Bopper replied to Natti's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not sure if/when a Support Melee AT will be added, but you can create a Support Melee character. It might be a bit inefficient, but you could make it work conceptually. I would go with a Rad/Time/Electricty Corruptor Radiation Blast will give you 2 PBAoEs in Irradiate and Atomic Blast. Fighting Pool (grab Boxing, Kick, Cross Punch)...you won't need to use Kick, but Boxing and Cross Punch can be your main melee attacks. Electricity Mastery offers Thunderstrike as a 3rd PBAoE. So your melee attacks are covered. Then, you throw in Time which is full of AoEs (Time's Juncture, Temporal Mending, Farsight, Chronoshift). You can make Distortion Field a PBAoE by using a macro, and overall you'll be a S/L resist capped, high defense, in your face masher. Edit: You can also take Power Sink as an AoE, and put the disorient proc in to stack with Thunderstrike's Stun. Makes for some nice control if/when needed. -
That does sound good, if you're able to occasionally check in, Time sounds good... or go with Sonic Resonance as you'd get more resistances to other types while also having status protection. But Time comes with a heal, Sonic doesn't. For Epic, I'm thinking go Psychic for the Confusion Aura. But I like the MM idea. I was also thinking maybe a Darkness Affinity controller, they have nice AoE toggles. For Pool Powers, I'm thinking Leadership toggles, Hover, Stealth, and Tough/Weave. Things to stay alive and undetected.
-
sounds like you'd want it to auto-follow a character, have toggles, and have a power on auto? I'll see what fits that the best. A Time defender comes to mind, having Time's Juncture to debuff enemies around it, and have farsight on auto, plus a slew of leadership toggles. But I'll take a quick look and see if something else is more fitting.

This borders on going off-topic, so feel free to ping us in the Mids forum. But what OS and Mids version do you have? Have you made tweaks to your Mids version (like make changes to the database)? Have you tried repairing Mids or uninstall/reinstall?

Savage Melee/Super Reflex Scrapper Build Suggestions
Bopper replied to Alaskanrebel's topic in Scrapper
Just FYI, currently Shred does not crit for Scrappers. Someone literally forgot to add the effect to that power. Also, I dont think the crits scale with blood frenzy (for the powers that increase damage based on blood frenzy). -
If the settings are well documented (state you used this base power, state you used this hybrid, etc) then there's no line that really needs to be drawn. IMO, day jobs are too temporary to use. I dont remember how long you have to park a character to get the full 2 hr buff, but i think it's a week or more. If you have to put your toon on the shelf for that long, that doesn't seem useful. As for base powers they're cheap, 90m duration, and not difficult to re-up when needed. I'm fine with using them if you state you use them.

Are you saying purple patch is in effect for MM and its pets? I'm only talking about that.
-
Unfortunately no. It certainly would be an enhancement to the program that we'd like to incorporate, but I don't expect it to get attention anytime soon.
-
Thank you, that would be a great test to confirm.
-
For me personally, it's hard to trust any pylon time for MMs. I strongly suspect pylons don't recognize purple patch (whether I'm level 50 or 50+1 makes no difference with debuffs), so it's possible all those -1 and -2 pets are not being negatively impacted by purple patch and their DPS is inflated.
-
Looks like you have a fairly recent version. There might be a chance Hyperstrike has an older version.
-
No. I tend to save my judgement for the crash. I use Void Radial, so the debuff helps

Severe lag on Beta, but not on live. Any idea why?
Bopper replied to Camel's topic in Open Beta Testing
Might be the VM infrastructure they incorporated a week ago. -
Knockout Blow is very strong without Rage. Footstomp is strong without Rage (for its area of effect size). Everything else is low DPA. The T1-T3 all play a Tier low. Jab is worse than Boxing, Punch would be a mediocre T1 on other sets, and Haymaker would make an OK T2, but as a T3 is underwhelming. Hurl is slow, but it's a ranged Haymaker, so that's the tax I guess.

I love this game but nobody teams anymore..
Bopper replied to qas_illustration's topic in General Discussion
What server are you on and when do you play? I recommend finding a good super group to join. Our SG organizes leveling up teams. So everyone starts a character at level 1, then plays together throughout the week, leveling up with each other. I'm sure others may do the same. -
Cleaner Color Scheme for Forum Export
Bopper replied to r0y's topic in Mids' Reborn Hero Designer's Forum
I like that you have a color blind simulator on hand, I wish I had that for some presentations I did in the past. I tend to use traffic light representation in performance analysis, green is good, red is bad, yellow is somewhere in between (also, blue is excellent and black is horrible...but i digress). So I made it a habit to include the numbers for why it's good/bad overlaid onto the color rating and I inverted the color of the number's text. So white letters on red, black letters on green. It was hacky, but it was actually appreciated when I was presenting to a lead engineer of a company who happened to be color blind. He appreciated the effort.
