  1. I am pretty sure it is the damage bonus from defiance. However I have seen bugs that show defiance twice, with one of those defiances actually being a damage buff. For example, you'll see that with Soul Drain. The damage effects are broken out by an initial (unstackable) damage buff, then an addition damage buff for each target you hit (stackable). If you check the effects, one of those buffs shows as defiance. Whoops. In the end, it makes no difference, but still is confusing.
  2. Man, I hope not. I use a Granite/SS tank and could clear +4/x8 maps in 6-7 minutes...and I suck at farming haha (I tend to not use inspirations). Is the AoE on War Mace that bad? Granted, we might do different maps. I typically use Briggs. But your overall assessment I agree with. A Rad/WM Tank would do very well in regular content
  3. Good news... I finally found the time to update the guide to match the update I did to the tool back in February (v2.0). Bad news... no updates to the tool. But I do understand the Absorb mechanic now, so if I get time I'll add it to the tool eventually. Still need to figure out how to incorporate absorbs that are on short durations with quick refreshes, but I'll cross that bridge if/when I get there.
  4. A lot of powers, such as toggles, will not show a hit message nor a tohit roll. It may only show you a miss. When that is the case, the results will skew negatively. Now, the discrepancy you're seeing seems egregious still, so I won't say there is no problem. Just that it's worth keeping in mind that the combat log won't hold all the details you're looking for.
  5. Is this true? I can only get it to HO+2 when using 3 HOs to combine. When I attempt +3 it does not allow it. Does anyone have instructions on how to make it +3 and can someone show screenshots of making it happen in game (or on Beta)? I had passed along to the Mids team to take away the +3 for HOs because it seems only +2 is capable. If thats not true, I'd like to know for sure.
  6. It's true the Exemplaring tab is full of incomplete features, but those features are grayed out and inaccessible. The To-Hit Base Value can be adjusted and is useful for showing effects of the purple patch. If you are facing enemies that are +4, set the ToHit to 39. If +3, set to 48. If +2, set to 56. If +1, set to 65. If +0, set to 75. If -1, set to 80.
  7. Only Power Transfer is mech'd this way.
  8. Camel, you didn't really need to tag me at all, you answered it perfectly. But I'll try to earn my keep and explain things as well as I can. PainX, Irradiated Ground is a toggle that summons an 8 ft radius patch every 5 seconds. Normally, a toggle would have a chance to proc every 10s (the activation period of the proc enhancement) however IG will actually proc from the pseudopet (patch) everytime it is summoned. So instead of procing every 10s, it's every 5s. The beauty of it, though, is the fact the patch uses the same formula as a toggle. For an 8 ft radius toggle/pseudopet, the probability to proc will be 30.7% for a 3.5 PPM proc. So another way to think of it...IG figuratively doubles the PPM of your procs.
  9. The build I have now has thrown so many of the powers I would need for exemplaring at the tail end of the build, so it would not do too well. But if I did want to run around outside of granite, I certainly could. 38% S/L def, 20% F/C def, 35% E/N def, 46% psi def, 24% S/L res, 53% F/C res, 14% E/N res, 32% Toxic res, and 12% psi res. It'll take about 5 seconds to toggle everything on, but not too bad. Just pay no attention to the gawdaful endurance consumption haha...but I already have Ageless so it's nothing. But yes, Stone can certainly do well exemplared with the non-granite armor if it's built for it. If you ever make a tri-build granite tank, I'd love to see it.
  10. Has there been any work done on this by the dev team? If the AI in the pets causing it to not use one of its powers, can we get a hotfix?
  11. My Primary has a damage aura so I was able to put an ATO into it. Invulnerability doesn't offer that option, so my guess is KoB and Footstomp are your obvious options. It's also possible you use Haymaker in your rotation (its not in my build, but it was my final cut), and if so it would be a perfect option. I'd hate to ever have to use Jab, so I can't recommend using it unless as a set mule (and save the proc for another attack). If you post a build on Tanker forums, I'll check it out and see if I have any specific recommendations.
  12. That's a great question that I'm not sure of. I'm away from home so I can't look into it, but I'll try to look stuff up tonight. Ultimately, Footstomp and Knockout Blow are my attention getters with Cross Punch, Gloom and Dark Obliteration interleaved. I don't think I have ever not held attention, but I also have a taunt aura that might be doing the heavy lifting.
  13. The slotting is good and what you had showing in your combat log is good. You could add Pet Damage Delivered, but I don't think it will do anything in this case...but doesn't hurt to add. As for adding time stamps, go to Menu>Options>Windows. Scroll down to Beta Features and update your Chat Timestamps to 24-hour w/ seconds. As for saving chat logs to a text document, again go to Menu>Options>Windows. Scroll down to Chat and update your Log Chat to Enabled. Your logged chat will show up in your CoH folder (where you installed the game). Go to that folder and look for one that shows your username (for me, the folder is called Bopper). In that folder is a folder called "logs" and that is where you will find your chat logs. They are created daily and they will append as you play. To open a chat log, you would need to exit the game (as it is writing to the file while you're playing...so closing the game will close the file).
  14. What goal posts do you keep referring to? You haven't defined any of your arguments yet, so while you're talking about goal posts, I'm just trying to find what field you're playing on. Since you are insulting others on reading comprehension for no reason, I will quote myself in my addresses to you so there is no chance for further confusion. My question, which you have yet to answer, was for you to provide numbers on why you think Fighting Pool attacks are worthless. Can you provide your opinion with evidence, or not? I need you to show me the goal post as you make this claim. I asked for you to provide us with examples of ATTACKS from NON-ORIGIN POOL powers. Is this what you meant by me moving the goal post? Because I asked for comparable powers that is pertinent to this topic? Eitherway, your response to this was "I like all the powers in Leadership more" and "I like Force of Will powers". Cool. Doesn't answer what I asked, but I still engaged by doing an analysis of the only ATTACKS from those 2 sets. That wasn't me moving the goal posts, as your goal posts have yet to be defined. Until you can say why something is better, or what makes something better, I have no way of engaging. I can only assume we're talking about the quality of damage and effects an attack has, and I went into great detail in my comparisons of the two. You're welcome. Here I told you, it's fine for you to pick other powers. Play your way. Nobody in this ENTIRE THREAD has said you should not take other pool powers. So stay on topic. Our goal posts are defined. The goal posts are, what builds (ATs/Powersets) would have the most use for taking the entire Fighting Pool. If you don't have a build that can take advantage of the entire Fighting Pool, fine. But stop arguing something that isn't being discussed and stop attacking posters in this thread (or on the forum in general). Your pattern of abuse and misinformation since you've joined the forums has been noticed. So please troll...go somewhere else. You're not needed in this conversation.
  15. @InvaderStych and to follow up on my last post, I dont know if I use 40s for the calculation, or if it's capped at 30s. So I'll need to figure out if Hopeling is right if 30s is the clamp for calculating the maximum damage. I suspect he is correct, but will need your data to help verify.
  16. You did it correctly. Thats exactly how you calculate the added regen of your slotting. Base regen is 40% so you multiply the added strength from the enhancement (in this case 32%?) to come up with +12.88% regeneration added. For what its worth, even a Level 50 IO in health (42.4% enhancement) would not outperform the 20% regen from Numina. 40% x 42.4% = 16.96% It actually would require enhancement boosters to surpass numina. If you use a +5 level 50 IO (53% enhancement) you'd get: 40% x 53% = 21.2%
  17. I checked the radius last night and saw that it was 20 feet, but I dont know if I looked up Brute or Tanker. Either way, I'd expect them both to have the same radius. Let me check my calculations on the expected damage. I dont know how I'd compare it to your combat log as I dont know the resistance of the target at time of attack. Was it debuffed...was the enemy a different level, etc. So, if you can get a power analyzer (and turn on time stamps for your combat log, just so I have a warm fuzzy on when what happens), and show me the level of the enemy, the resistance before attacking, your level (with incarnate shift), then show the doublehit damage from the attack...then I can see how well the expected damage lines up and see if something is correct or not.
  18. Your sentiments are not far off from my own. I wanted to design a tank that maximized its damage while easily being tough enough, so I went with a Stone/SS tanker. Granite Armor comes with plenty of drawbacks, but i wanted to see what its like to play within those drawbacks and maximize my potential anyways. So I decided on making 3 builds. Offensive Build which is proc'd out and can casually farm, solo pylons, or simply tank while providing DPS. I still hardcap all resists except psi, softcap all defenses except psi, and have capped HP if needed. Defensive Build which is intended purely for tanking anything. I invested in more regeneration and psi resistance, hitting close to 80% psi resists, letting my tanker ATO take me the rest of the way when I get 2 stacks and hit 90% psi. Exemplar/Non-Granite Build which is intended to be able to play content below level 27 while also primarily tanking from outside of granite form, only switching to granite when necessary. Honestly, I made the character as a proof of concept only, but while playing/farming it I realized he was more fun than I intended, so I invested in multiple builds. I recommend you do the same if you love the character.
  19. There is one more option which I love to use that is good for accurate details, but it is a lot of clicking. I HIGHLY recommend using Firefox when using this tool as it comes in with a built in JSON reader that formats the data into JSON trees. You can click into all the effects of a power and get good information. Also, if you click a url link in the JSON, it will jump to that page and load up its information. Quite convenient. Only limitation is pseudopet information is lacking as is redirected powers, but overall it's a fantastic tool that is still being updated. RubyRed does good work.
  20. No clue honestly. I played an MM for about 32 levels back on live, and never saw epics. I suppose going for Scorpion Shield is viable, and Power Boost is in the same set for the Time Manipulation MMs. I'll defer to MM players, though. They could provide better insight than I could.
  21. Bombardment was a nice boost to sonic AoE potential. Not only does it provide an additional proc to slot, but also you can slot a Bombardment Damage (no recharge, keep the procs pure) to get a 2-set bonus of +5% range to help extend your cones. Or go the Hami route, if you have the funds. But eitherway, you can get a nice cycle of Howl (ragnorak KB proc thrown in for fun), then hit them with Shockwave (with Overwhelming KB:KD converter), then Siren's Song to sleep them. Cycle all 3 repeatedly and you'll just want the enemies tuck themselves into bed over and over again.
  22. Hmmm...I see what you're going for. I don't have any experience with MMs, but I wonder if Dark Miasma would be a good pairing. I think most of the must have powers you get early, and there's probably a handful you could skip. I wonder if Time could also be an option. Sadly, one of its skippable powers you are forced to take...so perhaps not.
  23. You're being a bit sensitive. I was merely implying that you should play your way. But if you would like to discuss the merits of other powers and compare them to the powers in Fighting pool (which is what this topic is about), then tell me the powers you prefer to take. But so far everything you suggested, I addressed and provided evidence in support of my claim. You have provided nothing to this conversation. But if your argument is simply "I like Hasten, I like Leadership, I like Force of Will" and then provide nothing beyond that, nothing to suggest as to why you prefer those powers, then your presence here isn't needed. In the end, this topic is simply to discuss who COULD benefit from taking the entire Fighting Pool, and you chose to interject into that conversation by saying "Fighting Pool sucks, it always has" with no evidence to back up that claim nor having any reason for providing such an outburst. But your pattern of behavior on the forums has shown that this is normal for you, so I'm not surpised.
  24. You will notice the bigger number (149.19) is 4x bigger than the smaller number (37.29). You will also notice the Area Factor of the PBAoE effect is 1+0.15 x 20' = 4.00. What I believe is happening, because your attack targets a ST to teleport, the damage is being calculated for the intended target using an Area Factor of 1. Then when you teleport you execute the PBAoE effect that has an AreaFactor of 4 which divides the damage by 4. So it appears this is not a bug, but I'm not sure if it's working as intended. As far as I know, the Teleport does not do damage, so I don't know what the Assault would proc from that effect. But I also don't see getting two double hits on your intended target, so I suppose it is working as intended (or you got very unlucky to miss what would be a 90% chance to proc). Hope that helps.
