2023 Homecoming Base Contest (Rules & Entries thread)
Wravis replied to Easter Bunny's topic in Events & Contests
Character name: Explore Builder Global: @Wravis Base or SG Name: Lake Shard: Everlasting Passcode: exploreonfoot-20176 Item Count: 3,100 Category for Contest: RP under 7k Other associated contributors: @Jibily (he's also me, though) Additional Info / Must-See Areas of Note:The base code is exploreonfoot because it's better if you explore on foot. It's a mountain lake with hiking trails to explore! Plus a couple caves. Some hoodlum vandalized them. Also many, many hidden areas. But I won't post their locations because that defeats the purpose of hiding Easter eggs. -
Man you should just stop posting here. You've been patronizing and rude every post.
-
There's no need to get belligerent. This is a forum. People discuss things. You gave your opinion and I wanted clarification on why you think there's a benefit of building out of the base. I even thumbed up your post because I thought it is potentially a good point. But instead of clarifying you threw a fit. 🤷♂️

I'm not sure how obvious or true that is! There's nothing inherently more impressive about it, is there? The only real instant benefit is outdoor bases not having walls around everything. But you trade those walls for endless void.
-
I'm not saying that it's a bad idea but I'm curious why you think that distinction is needed.
-
Where are you getting "more things=bigger and better" from? There's the same amount of "smaller is better"/"less is more" categories.

Rock 9 (Tintable) is not tintable. 😞

Switch the random hypothetical and the outcome is different. Maybe those random witnesses are more impressed by someone creating a small but meticulous base? Impressed that the person was able to limit themselves and still create something award-winning. What's I think is more likely though is that they go check out both.

Anything is toxic with the right personality! I second this suggestion. Make it work and make it happen!

Super speed makes you run super fast and jump far. Do you also think Leaping is useless? Teleporting? They get you there faster. That’s what they’re for. I agree the change is stupid but that doesn’t make the set irrelevant.

Isn't Shield like, really good? I always thought it was really good.

As I said in the first post. If it's a time consuming thing, do it next year. Though I'm not sure why people keep claiming it's some arduous task to move an NPC. Would you say it's a waste of time if all it takes it logging in and typing in a command to move her? Do you know it would be a time consuming change or are you just guessing? Everyone has adjusted. No one has seen her in that spot and had a meltdown and stopped RPing. It doesn't mean people haven't seen her and thought "I wish they hadn't put her there". I'm not arguing because this is some sacred spot that must be preserved. It's just a spot people like to use. I know there's other places people can and do RP. I'm just tired of people who don't RP saying there's no reason to make changes for RPers. And RPers who look down on those who RP in Pocket D. Who don't RP in Pocket D, chiming in to say they don't think it's worth it. If they dropped her in the middle of your SG base for a month would you be as dismissive? -

I made a thread suggesting a change. Several people expressed their support. Several people who don't RP said they don't see the point. You stomped your feet and complained without any reason for not supporting it other than "but the community hasn't been consulted!" Do you expect me to start a change.org petition and get signatures from everyone in Pocket D? -

Wow look at this perfect spot that exists that isn't used by RPers. Man if only someone had suggested that spot before you spent all this time arguing. -

Read the thread again. Several people have expressed their support now. Sorry if change scares you. Tell me how moving her to the side next to War Witch would be inconvenient to anyone. Why are you claiming I'm unwilling to find a better spot for her? I suggested she be moved and offered a possible location. You haven't given any reason having her on the side with War Witch is a bad idea. All you're doing is making claims about things that may or may not have happened in 2012. 🙂 You think my example is stupid and I think yours is. Sorry you aren't able to see the benefit of things that aren't specifically catered to your interests. -
You used to be able to spam-claim, but it was straining the servers, so they added the wait period. Which is why I wish there was a "claim all" that automated the claiming with that interval built in.

Turning the "I don't care about RPers because I don't RP, so don't make changes for the benefit of RPers" around into "I don't care about PVErs because I don't PVE so don't make changes for the benefit of PVErs" was meant to show how ridiculous it sounds. ITF isn't available but doing TFs is available in a different spot. RP in that spot isn't available but RP is still available in a different spot. See? Someone reasonable with a counter proposal! 😛 -
Also a good solution. Just something to make it less of a chore.

If that's what they can do, that's what they should, I think. Any number greater than 1 at a time would be a good quality of life improvement.

Would it be possible to create an option to automatically act on an entire stack of items instead of requiring to do it one at a time (like claiming multiples of the same item in the mail, or opening multiple booster packs) or automatically create the maximum number of stacks of items in the AH (instead of needed to do it 10 at a time. So instead of: - Claiming 100s of Candy Canes, Boosters, Converters, etc. from the mail 1 at a time ----> hit a "claim all" button, and wait for how ever long it takes for the server to carry that out without needed to keep clicking. - Listing 300 Candy Canes by dragging the stack over 30 times because the maximum listable stack is 10 ---> Drag an entire stack and have it create as many stacks of 10 as possible, then one stack of the remainder. - Opening X amount of Super Packs 1 at a time ----> Automatically open all of them and send the rewards directly to the mail. I know you can't rapidly click "claim" in the mail because it puts a strain on the server, so maybe some sort of built-in interval that spreads out the claiming enough that the strain is minimized. Obviously this isn't specific to Candy Canes and Super Packs. They're just examples!

I'm not sure you've ever played with more than just yourself, becausee if you did, or do, you'd know that crowds take up space, and in this game, only a few people would be enough to fill everything in your screenshot due to the size of hitboxes. -

Do you have any proof it was requested back then? Show me the wayback machine? Because is sure looks like you're bullshitting. Keep trying, maybe eventually you'll land on a relevant statement. The fact is, it's been requested now, and has support now. Did you know things can change?
