im following the guide almost 50 (still on lvl 40 cap) and the prices of the sets have go up sadly , while i gained some millions im still millions behind the lvl 40 build, like u said prices varies 🙂 , atm going with full IO  😄 , im farming 0/8 with easy , tried +1/8 and 0 issues , at 50 gonna work on enhancing the build a bit

anyway  thanks! great guide !

Prices do vary, but then again, that should also be true for the rare salvage you should be selling. Those are still reliably selling for 500-600,000 each (higher than when I wrote this guide). So if you're not having the same trouble that Maagic mentioned (about getting AE tix) you should still be getting around 1000 tix per run (iirc) so we're talking 1.5M+ income every two runs, minimum. If you get to L50, you can also run on Standard Rewards (no AE tix, but more cash, and salvage drops) and pull down ~5 Million per run.  In short, you shouldn't be having too much trouble with financing, except perhaps for a few of the specialty items (like the Karma KB for instance), and you can opt to get those IOs with reward merits as well, if need be.

The common IOs are flat-rate priced (from the crafting table) so that hasn't changed any. There's some silliness going on with Yellow salvage lately, so those prices have jumped - the past few days I've been getting it for ~15K per yellow piece within a few minutes. One thing you might consider, if you've made yourself a SG base, is note the ingredients you need for the IO's you're planning to make. You can add storage bins to your base, and each will hold 100 pieces of salvage. In that case you can put some low-ball bids out on AH, and stockpile some of the stuff you'll need for later. That can help avoid paying the "buy it now" prices when the time comes. Also, if you make some Standard Reward runs, you'll also get salvage drops, and you can sell any yellow pieces you don't need on the AH, and take a little advantage from the pricing increases yourself. ;-)

As mentioned, you shouldn't be buying any rare salvage at all as you can get the pieces you need for free from the AE, and once again, you can stockpile the pieces you need for crafting and sell the others as before.

Additonally, there are also plenty of auctionhouse marketing strategies that you can use to increase your income if you're so-inclined. Those are beyond the scope of this guide, but there are guides out there for them, and they're really not very difficult. Usually the hardest part is for players to get past their discomfort about the auctionhouse in general.  ;-)

Finally, as coaches say "Keep your eyes on the prize"  ;-)  Once you get your LBFF to L50 and kitted out as the build describes, you'll be making about 50 Milllion every time you run the full #2915 AE arc (of 5 missions), so it won't be very long until "money trouble" will be a thing of the past for you and any other characters you make.

Hey @FourSpeed!

Thanks to your guide, I'm now a newly minted 50. I've got most of my IOs (still waiting on some bids for two of the LOGs and a few hours to run tips for the LOG 7.5s), and built according to your 50 build (though it's closer to 140M so far now 😞. Not your error, but ouchie )  and I just had a quick question:  I decided to try #11612 on +4/x1 just to see how well I can do before I dive in headfirst, and I noticed that against the Security bosses, I am whiffing a whole lot, even with Cross Punch. Is that normal or am I screwing something up, do you think?

Against +4 mobs, our base chance to hit is only 39%, a lot lower than the 75% to-hit chance for even-level mobs. You can see this in Mid's if you go to "Options/Configuration" and choose the "Exemping and Base Values" tab. Then change the "base to-hit" number from 75 to 39. Now in the main display, all your  attack powers will show their to-hit values for +4 enemies. You want all those numbers to be 95% or greater, if you can. If you find they're lower, you can slot more accuracy, use Kismet +6% accuracy (actually to-hit) defense enhancement, and/or targeting powers like Tactics or Targeting Drone. Be sure than no "build up" temporary to-hit boosts are toggled on, since that will distort the numbers. Good luck.

Thanks, that helps. It looks like as-built, lunge and barb swipe are only about 21%, so it makes sense.

In addition to robopop's comments, that issue is another reason why you want to open up Incarnate Powers. Your T3 Alpha power also provides a level shift that works in normal content as well. That will effectively make the mobs +3 to you only, which is a big help.  That is also why I mentioned earlier that the fully levelled & IO'd build doesn't need a Kismet once you get there, but it certainly can help.

You can monitor your to-hit in-game with the Combat Attributes screen (Powers -> Combat Attributes). The number for  "Last Hit Chance" will tell you what your number was against the guy you most recently attacked. Bear in mind that 95% is the Max allowed. The game always has a 5% chance of missing on any attack, unless streakbreaker is invoked.

Yeah, I managed to unlock my alpha slot. Now I'm just trying to figure out if there's a soloable way to gather  the ingredients I need. 😄

I'm using Version 2.23 of Pine's Hero Designer.

@Warshade14 -- I'm not sure if the current data chunks in the guide will actually import into Mid's Reborn.  I don't have it, to find out.  What I do have, and what the builds were created in was Pine's 2.23 as mentioned previously. They import properly into that.

I can, as an interim help, post the long text versions here, but unless I get around to using Mid's Reborn, or you can pick up the old version of Pine's, we're a bit stuck here...  😉

Can you please tell me exactly how to open this in Mid's reborn?

Can't for the hell of me open it!

Copy the data block (all the lines starting and ending with a pipe character, "|"). Then, in Mid's, go to "Import and Export/Import from forum post". A dialog will pop up saying to copy all the data (which you just did in the first sentence). Click okay.

When I follow that procedure, the build loads for me. Good luck!

i disagree - thought most of what you had to say was of good value. it may not have been the same philosophy as Four's thread here, and i agree with most of his pricing decisions in his builds as they relate to the purpose of the thread, but still some helpful mechanics-based advice.

😉  0/0 is just fine tyvm. Running anything (other than Fire) at 0/3 is likely to end Badly... for You, not them... 😄

*  Those macros that are awesome in a fire farm are Not Helpful in normal content.  You'll want some way to turn those off outside of AE (Actually, all you really need there is to change the attack binds so they don't auto-combine inspies - ie. run red/Red/Boom when pressed) and reinstate them when you're ready to run in AE-Mode again. I use a couple little files for that.

I know you posted the info below on how you turn the macros on and off but I'm a little new and having trouble understanding how to do this? I use the combine macros on my Brute but he will never leave AE. However, on my scrapper I would like to use the combine macros while im farming in AE and turn them off when I go run a TF or something. Can someone help me out with this? Ty.

The combine macros simply remap your attack buttons (1-9, and 0). Normally, by default, without any "other" macros they look like this:

1 "powexec_slot 1"
2 "powexec_slot 2"
3 "powexec_slot 3"
4 "powexec_slot 4"
5 "powexec_slot 5"
6 "powexec_slot 6"
7 "powexec_slot 7"
8 "powexec_slot 8"
9 "powexec_slot 9"

0 "powexec_slot 0"

So, that simply means, when you push the 1 key, it "does" whatever power is your first slot.  The same happens for the other keys. If your LBFF (or Scrapper, in your case) is leaving the AE, this is what you want those keys to be.

When he's IN the AE farming, you want the attacks to ALSO use red inspies, and combine other inspies, so in that case, those same keys are defined like this instead:

1 "powexec_slot 1$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
2 "powexec_slot 2$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
3 "powexec_slot 3$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
4 "powexec_slot 4$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
5 "powexec_slot 5$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
6 "powexec_slot 6$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
7 "powexec_slot 7$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
8 "powexec_slot 8$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"
9 "powexec_slot 9$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"

0 "powexec_slot 0$$powexec_tray 2 4$$powexec_tray 3 4$$powexec_tray 1 4"

That means when you push the 1 key, it tries to do the commands in power tray 4, slots 1, 2, and 3, which are your "use red inspies / combine other inspies" macros. If any One of those works, it's done (it used, or combined some inspies). If none of the tray 4 powers worked, (no inspies to use / combine), THEN, it does the normal attack. This is also why you sometimes have to press attack keys multiple times before the attack will happen. Unfortunately, that's the way BIND is implemented in the game. You can only do one "action" per press (to prevent botting, iirc).

So, the easiest way I know (and what I recommended) to flip-flop these definitions when you want to is to put these sets of bind commands into two text files, and then you make a pair of macros to simply "load" the correct set of key binds for the situation you're wanting (AE or Regular Content).

Hopefully, that explanation will help clarify what we're doing, so you can go back to that section of the guide and get it working properly for you.

About to start a character using this guide, but was wondering if the character origin (I've noticed a lot of Firey/Spines farmers go with either natural or tech) really makes that much of a difference and why...

Sorry, I missed this one earlier.

No, origin is pretty meaningless.

Way back in the early days of the game, it had a bit more impact (it affected which contacts / stories you'd get, and it affected prices of TO/DO/SO shinies), but even then it was never a big deal.

About the only meaningful point these days is the P2W store. When you first start out, a couple of the free attacks (Nemesis Staff and Blackwand) offer a small bonus depending on your origin. So, in that case, when you pick those powers up after you leave the Outbreak Tutorial, you'll want to make sure you grab the correct version of those for your particular origin.

Other than that though, Origin is not a factor in the build at all.

The only difference Origin makes, really, is (a) the names of the normal enhancements you buy, (b) some dialog (rare, mostly seen in the Origin of Power arc, and (c) the initial "temp" attack power you get.

Poked my nose in here out of curiosity and i just want to say - nice to see actual "on the way" builds, not just "you're 50 with a bunch of Inf." *applauds.*

Ok i just bought two pieces of the Frozen Blast set.   I have enhancement catalysts to upgrade them to Superior.  But what screen, what process do I use to upgrade to Superior?

You use those just like you would combine IOs. Slot, click on the IO in the slot, it should show a catalyst to use. Drag that over, combine, you should be good to go.

I followed your guide to the letter and now I have my very own fire farmer. I dual boxed to get a rad/fire to 50, to be able to use her to powerlevel my other toons without depending on the kindness of other farmers. It is also the only toon I ever leveled up to 50 with zero help. For that, thanks.
With this build I get 6 mil per the long tunnel run, at 4x8 (the level shift made all the difference) and the Regular drops are amazing.

I will move her to the higher end farmers level, but right now I’m having too much fun with the massive b*tchslap that is crosspunch. Easily the most entertaining power there is.

do you have recommendations for a high level build? Any advice on rad/fire? (Including incarnates?)

 Gratz!

I'm glad you found the guide helpful for you. Thanks for the update on earning levels. I haven't revisited these since the Dbl Inf / Exemplar patch occurred a while back (got sidetracked with DCS lately, so my CoX characters are languishing a bit currently 😉).

The Higher End builds are beyond the scope of this guide, as mentioned from the get-go, so the only advice I'd have on that topic is to delve into Warlawk's thread (linked in the OP post), and involve yourself in that discussion. Personally, the LBFF build is the only farmer I have (one on each of my accts) as it can handle anything I'd need a farm build to do for me.

Unfortunately, I also don't have any insight on Rad/Fire as I've never built one -- sorry.  Again, I suspect you'd find more info on those in Warlawk's thread, or in the Brute forum.

Once again, though, congratulations on your new farmer - glad to have helped in some small way.

Cheers,

Thanks for this guide.  I followed it as much as possible with my claws/fire brute and it got me to level 50 and slowly decking myself out in purple stuff pretty quickly.  0 investment from other characters although I got a bit of a handout from a good Samaritan at one point.  My current computer is just too old to support dual boxing but I'm getting my new laptop in the next 2 days so ill start powerleveling some alts soon.
