Fastest way to level to 19 (not sitting)

Recommended Posts

Went through my alts and found a level 14 brute. By the looks of his missions he was doing KR stuff. Once they get to 19 or 20 I can level them fairly quickly, but at this level its gonna be slow. So I abandoned him and restarted a new brute with the same primary and secondary. Led a team on "Death from Below" which gets you to level 6 or 7 and a minor buff (I always take endurance). Then I go to the Hollows and lead a team through two outside and two inside missions at +2. Then we do the Flux missions at +3 (Frostfire at +4). This gets you to level 19 (in about an hour - if you don't have a team with more than one controller) and there are lots of good missions from here.

Note: Did Frostfire once with four controllers on the team. It took 4.5 hours to complete. Never again.

Double xp, street sweep in Galaxy and grab the exploration badges for some patrol xp, head to hollows at 5 or 6 and do all 4 contacts at the highest diff you can manage, then head to Faultline and do a few radios for the last couple levels.

Edit: Nevermind, should have read better, sry.

I think you mean "four idiots".  Controllers are not a hindrance or dead weight in any way.

Odd title for this post. Faster would be an MSR. And, probably ToT, since the EBs give 50% more xp than a standard EB, but only if the league isn't porting away from GMs every 2 minutes.
Or, a team of 8 doing level 50 stuff would certainly be faster than yet another Frostfire.

I can't remember the global, but there used to be a chap called Saint Nick...man, that dude knew where all the huge XP was hiding. I remember having dinged level 49, and he took us to the itsy bitsy badge arc. At +4, Lord Recluse as an AV gave me 4-5 bars of XP just by himself.

Young controllers against +4 foes have a tough time actually landing a hold power on them. Unless they have at least two Single Origin accuracy \ enhancements on ever controlling power. Almost every young player that I've spoken to don't use enhancements at all until level 25. I always start using SO's at level 7.

DFB to lvl 8 --> Posi 1 --> Posi 2. If you're not at lvl 19 when you're done, run DiB.

That takes 2-3 hours. My way takes 60-75 minutes (the 'fastest" way to 19).

I've done dfb hundreds of times and never gotten to level 8 unless you do it twice (takes too long).

Doesn't even slow down the Malibu or roll the window down.

Girls of Nukem High - Excelsior - Tempus Fabulous, Flattery, Jennifer Chilly, Betty Beatdown, Totally Cali, Two Gun Trixie

Babes of War - Excelsior - High Beam (Yay), Di Di Guns, Runeslinger, Munitions Mistress, Tideway, Hard Melody, Blue Aria

Many alts and lots of fun.  Thank you Name Release For letting me get my OG main back!

The number one way to have a FF go slow is doing it +4 with the lead not having a 2x XP booster. If the lead has that, I've done it in maybe 90 minutes at most, and the team is blowing through it by the end. If its going that poorly to start, you exit and reset. There is zero reason for a FF to take even two hours.

Getting to 19 feels a bit weird. There's nothing meaningful about that level. You aren't even in Talos if Blue side. Level 17, 22, and 27 are far more important when it comes to slotting.

Agreed. I want to be level 22 for my common IOs that will last me. Also many ATs have foundational powers at level 20 that help sustain.

The whole thing is silly but I do find it hilarious that the OP does Frostfire. Some of my worst tank leader is an ass experiences were with Hollows and Frostfire missions. I guess that the OP just wants to make sure to keep the propaganda and rude behavior alive by continuing the trend.

Doing anything at +4 when you are level 14 is slow going.

I'm assuming that the team has higher level characters on it, maybe level 50s.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I'm quite positive there are players with Level 50s who are specifically playing those characters when they see a FF pop up. A Tanker exempted down makes +4 FF much smoother. I have seen some repeat Level 50s on various FF runs I have done. It just feels like a known thing that a FF will be done at +4, so help from a Level 50 is nice to have.

Level 8 via DFB requires 2-3 runs, but each run only takes 5-10 minutes. Plus there are 4 different buffs. Posi 1 and 2 can each be completed in 20-30 minutes. So that totals 50-90 minutes. No way is it 2-3 hours unless your teams are incompetent.

I may have missed it mentioned, but are either of you doing this with P2W START vendors' 2XP bonus?  I start new characters with that bonus and run DFB to at least level 16.  It's usually 45min. to an hour, but honestly most of that time is the slog of waiting for teams to form.  If I had 7 other hatchlings agreeing to stay with me for an hour of DFBs back-to-back, I've reason to believe we'd hit 20 or likely higher.

I want to see video of a 5 minute run of DFB. I think 10 minute runs would be impressive. Both Posi's can be done under 30 minutes on functional teams. I can at least see that.

I don't keep track of the time on DFBs so I was guesstimating (pretty sure they don't provide a time at completion). Would 10-15 minutes be more accurate?

Yeah, they had changed things with the instanced version at first to be 35+, and then they opened it up to level 1s. And you're not sk'd in the instanced versions, your level is set to 50. So the XP isn't quite as good, I don't think, as it would be in the open zone version.

I could go on - and did, but deleted it all - so you're welcome, lol.

Aka “kill me now”. I’d rather watch paint dry than run an MSR, especially under 35.

We did that for Tanker Tuesday this past week and my level 19 Tank got a couple levels and two debt badges. I’ve had root canals that were more fun.

Frankly I’d rather just sit in a Fire Farm where I can chitchat and crack jokes. Or play Halo instead. (I should have been protecting my alts’ names that I lost, actually. Kinda feel like I wasted my playing time since I didn’t actually enjoy the MSR *and* I lost some names that I really liked.)
