It is highly likely a group I run with (Justice SuperTeamers - Excelsior) will be starting a new theme team.  Well, they will definitely be starting one, and it is likely the theme is "stealth." Meaning every member must have "real" stealth in Primary/Secondary.

now, of late, i have become quite addicted to Blasters.  but...  yeah.  So my Archetype choices are Stalker, Controller or Dominator (Illusion primary has full stealth) or Arachnos widow.  (which has been ruled acceptable).

Of these choices I am leaning towards Ill/Psi/Psi Dom (tentative build posted in Dom section...), Fortunata, Bane, or Dark/Dark Stalker.  I am kind of "done" with melee.  (i have a 50 dark dark Stalker.  It was good.  just...good.)

Which of these choices will do the "best" DPS?  The teams generally do not have issues surviving, so those considerations are secondary.  I just want to be able to knock stuff down (lots of stuff) as we tend to run 4/8 whenever we can.

While the right controller is a beautiful thing, I would put my money down on Fortunata as you have protections your other options either don't get or only visit from time to time.

Think he said he was done with melee for now.

Ninjitsu blaster does fit the theme. So too Ninjitsu Sentinel (got a Dark/Nin Sent I am currently working up). But I think since Snarky has been diving deep into Blaster for a while he is wanting something a bit further removed (though honestly,  Sentinel...Fortunata....there are certain similarities there).

i am done with melee.  i would take the Stalker over the Scrapper personally.

But... I have never run Ninja secondary... (never fit my themes)   Does Shinobi offer "true" stealth?

It depends on what you mean by "true".

It does provide stealth, but not full invisibility, for that you'd need to add a +stealth proc in something.

If you're looking for full invisibility only, fortunatas don't provide it either, they only get 40 feet of stealth in Mask Presence.

What this team needs is more Defenders

i dont follow the minutae of CoH as well as i might.  evidently there was a mod to Fortunatas stealth.  not sure if you are including that.  but the people setting up the team says that works.  not really sure if the bane also counts.

not real stealth on Shinobi.  Needs to be Invisible.  i just levelled one to 10 thinking it would work.  Es ist nicht so gut.

also, i am sending you a bill for my wasted time of the test.  i am thinking 9 or 10 figures.  have to get out my calculator to check it.

Fortunata stealth is not as good as Widow stealth.  It is possible to build a ranged night widow, just won't be doing what you do best.  Crabbermind could work if you're willing to invest in Grant Invisibility.

banes and widows are allowed, but crabs are not inherently stealthy as required

"Invisible" wasn't mentioned in the original post or any subsequent post. The post asked for Stealth, "real stealth" and the responses were based on that. Perhaps the intent of the question did not take in to account the nuance of how Perception and Stealth mechanics work in this game, so the right question was not asked.

For example, the power "Shinobi" from Blaster Ninja Training grants +35.5 feet StealthRadius PVE (self only) - same goes for "Field Operative" from Blaster Devices which grants +35.5 feet StealthRadius PVE (self only).

The "Celerity: Stealth" IO slotted in the Sprint power grants Blasters +30 feet StealthRadius PVE (self only). Use Shinobi + Sprint slotted with Celerity: Stealth to get +65.5 feet of stealth.

As a comparison, the power "Stealth" from the Concealment Pool grants Blasters +55 feet StealthRadius PVE (self only).

Blasters are not getting any higher stealth from any other powers outside of temporary base empowerment craftables by themselves. Ask someone on the team for "Grant Invisibility" and you'll also get another +55 feet StealthRadius PVE (self only).

Then take in to account the amount of Perception that certain mobs have in-game. Some will see through any amount of stealth.

yes i said it wrong.  i should have said "true invisibility" but... i didnt.  experimenting with a bane now.  will look at boards to see if it is what i want.  i still may go ill/psi/psi dom or dark stalker.  but Bane has 55 stealth with Cloaking Device

I have an ill/savage/ill  and it is very sneaky and fun. Savage provides a tp attack which I use to tp and hit blind right after. Super sweet toon.

Please tell me you aren't wanting Stealth to go through Gold-side content (1-20) because you will be wasting your efforts.  Everything there either sees through any amount of Stealth or is tethered so much it will ignore you as you jog by.

On this note, arsenal control and devices also offer stealth powers.

Arsenal Control is a fantastic control set.

Arse provides the same invisibility as Illusion.

Holy bananas?  200ft???  Illusions Superior Invisibility starts at 80ft and maxes (iirc) at lvl 32 with 200ft.  That's better than a Stalker.

Edit:  Cripes, it even includes a -perception power in the same set.  Illusion has two edges left (wrt to stealth, concealment and perception).  An AoE team stealth in GI and doesn't suppress when attacking.
