- back in the day, it was an impressive thing to see people with the portal jockey accolade, it was the sign an alt  had “made it”

- the eden trial was genuinely difficult and/or i was terrible at the game

- a 40 minute STF run was impressive

- oldschool blaster defiance was great

- herding parties in the hollows where a tank would herd up huge mobs and lowbies would cast AoE immob powers to get good XP

- sirens call PvP was -the- place to be

- having a shivan was nearly mandatory at times to complete certain events if the team wasn’t optimal

- IOs used to have massive value, if a purple melee recipe dropped you were 200m richer. if a PvP recipe dropped you could be 1-2bn richer

- the old sidekick system was kind of awful

- the Cathedral of Pain trial was such a rare event, i didn’t play it until the HC days and only heard about it on live like a legend or myth

- i took part in a few base raids which was fun

- endurance management used to be such a massive problem in the lower levels, anything that gave a +recovery buff was a big help

I still prefer the original accolade auto power colors for Portal Jockey, Freedom Phalanx Reserve Member, and the Atlas Medallion.

they’re the same aren’t they? portal jockey has always been a nice vibrant pink

PBAoE?!! Back in the dumpster diving heyday, Tankers could hit that stack with Energy Transfer and kill all the wolves and themselves!! Then you would get one of the mids to rez you and you're off to the races again!

And I had forgotten about this comic.

I had to. Which is really funny because every time my friends and I take the tram in Paragon City we yell "To the Subway of Justice!" specifically because of this cartoon. We'd been saying it so long that I'd nearly forgotten where it'd originally came from.

Being constantly offended doesn't mean you're right, it means you're too narcissistic to tolerate opinions different than your own.

I used to enjoy being support in this game because emp back in the Virtue days was a best in slot pick.

I remember yellow and green line trains, good times...

Doing the MLTF(Back then known as STF as states was still kicking) as an emp and buffing my brother with CM who was the stone tank.

Good stuff. But a lot of(okay all of) the difficulty was simply knowledge and resource based, looking back on it now.

With all the resources and knowledge we have now, the true difficulty of CoH is on full display. A difficulty i actually like!

AM originally had a green accolade auto power icon, FPRM had a pink one, and PJ was blue if memory serves me right.

And basically needing a Granite tank for recluse and having to spam clear mind on said tank for Ghost Widow

I no longer remember his name, but there was a Fire tank on Protector that used to lead STFs almost daily. Ran one with him just before the servers shut down.

Looking back, badges were first introduced with Issue 2, which came out in September of 2004. So it was some time between then and when City of Villains came out in October of 2005.

Back in the day had a nrg/nrg blaster.  Had somewhat mastered hoverblasting when I seen my first blapper and realised I was doing it wrong.

First time seeing a squid, I was mesmerised, then the 'troubles' started.  People refusing to team with a Kheldian, low level tanks ignoring quantums as a 'you' problem.  Nictus and Cyst were an automatic team wipe.
