Why so much hate towards AE farms, man?

AE farms are fine dude

More things I dislike about the patch than like. Do wonder if Blasters, Corruptors, Stalkers, or Scrappers will ever see nerfs. I kind of doubt it.

Disagree. You don't see nearly as many farmers now as we did a year or two ago. Which I suspect was the intent all along. From the multiple changes to the carrot-on-a-stick rewards for nearly all on non-AE activities. The changes to AE farms and MMs made MM farming take 3x as long now, to the point I can take any 3 tankers and do the map over 3 minutes faster. My Robot MM farm team went from 3 minutes long to 8.5 minutes long, same map.

I can't believe they made Kallisti Wharf a high-level zone. There goes the last chance to have an alternative starting location for heroes, like Galaxy City of erst. In fact, it was a chance to have an alternative starting location for villains too, instead of doing Mercy for the hundredth time. But it's no dice with these people and their level of imagination.

The original plan for the zone by the Paragon dev team was to be an endgame zone (and IIRC it would have been Incarnate-focused like Dark Astoria is). So if anything the HC team made it *more* accessible than it was "supposed" to be.

Love the customized Bubbles.. played with a color blind player on hard mode Lady Grey with a Bubble troller on the team. Added a whole new level of difficulty assisting that player through the TF

I dont know why this doesnt have a million reactions. It might be the absolute best reaction.

I dont think we need to nerf things. I think we just need to bring other things more up to snuff.

I think this was said very well over here: https://massivelyop.com/2025/05/29/into-the-super-verse-what-the-heck-is-going-on-with-balancing-in-city-of-heroes-homecoming/

Nerfing things that may be overtuned seems to be a much higher priority than just making bad things good. nerfing Rad Armor when there's still sets no one has a numerical reason to use is just laughably backwards priorities. Why ruin anyone's fun when you could just add more fun for some and others just get to keep going

If you dont want to farm, don't farm.

it doesnt hurt the economy, because the rich people don't farm--they flip on the market.

It doesnt hurt making people 50 because the game has been out for 5 years and most people who wanted to have 40+ 50's.

Why do you just hate people playing the game differently than you do?

Fair. But as much as they claim they want to balance things, I can't help but notice they only balance one side of the scales. Some ATs remain rather untouched, while others have been given several passes. I am not saying changes are bad. But I don't believe for an instant that "balance" is their goal. You may disagree, and that is fine. We are both entitled to our opinion on the matter.

And I like to farm. And the only people I hate are the folks who rant about offensive or nsfw things on raids. (And reporting seems to do little to no good. I stopped reporting them because I will see the same person on the next raid.) You want to team? Go for it. You want to solo? Go for it. You want to farm? Go for it. You want to play stock market simulator? Go for it. I hope everyone finds the activity they like to do.

But let's not pretend that the devs favor some activities over others, or have encouraged some, while discouraging others. The "play your way, all forms of enjoyment are equal" is not really a thing anymore.

Best wishes, whatever form of fun you like.

I love when new stuff is added, and improvements are made to make powers better to use or feel fresh and useful when they were a waste of a slot.  But, the optics on constantly making specific playstyles worse and worse while ignoring things that nobody plays is the wrong way to go about it. If you want to get people playing the game, dont make it a slog, give them powers that are fun and make them feel special, frame changes in a positive light and lift things from the bottom to meet in the middle more than you push things down from the top.

Try and focus more on the helpful side of changes as opposed to the ones that seem to just make playing a drag.  At this rate, I'll never be compelled to do actual content any more since the classes I typically stick to are always getting the nerf bat.

There is a lot of good stuff this time around and Im looking forward to seeing what it all looks like, but man, for once I want balance notes to feel good.

I’m sure you’re right. I wouldn’t know anything about Mastermind farming. I assumed the poster was upset at the only thing impacting farming in this patch: the Tanker changes.

Tanker AE farms are fine. Fixed it for you. Sorry about that.

"Balance" is a red herring in a multi-class (AT) MMO.  It's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, something pushed towards but impossible to reach.  So much gets destroyed and so much gets lost in the name of "balance."  The only way to truly balance such games is to homogenize all the classes.  If an MMO developer ever tells you that they made a change "for balance," they are either deceiving you or themselves.

Can we also please get singularity's resist/heal fixed. They used to be 90% but then were nerfed shortly after only being able to have one of them which made no sense to begin with. Now especially only having one it should have that 90% resistance back, but a better option would be to have 70% resists but make it healable.

Edit: Troller/VEAT pets should also be on 60s rech timers so you can cast more if needed for those sets that can't heal, they replace each other so functionally this woudln't break anything, then the big thing is epic pets should be on 4 minute recharge timers, not 16 (and set to replace, not just fail if there is already one out)

Couldn't all but the "clean" version of all those "Awakened" options be selectable as if they were patterns? The mass of them listed here seems awfully cluttered to me, and you have the "no selection available" filling in that category, so it's not like we'd lose the patterns.

Really looking forward to all of this, especially the new content for Kallisti Wharf.

I am still hoping for true small-body costume options in the Character Design or Prismatic Aether costume menu, much as the mini Paragon Protectors; the Funko Pop look is not for everyone.

But hey, we are getting a TON of really great stuff! Thank you so much for all the effort you folks put into our beloved game!

Warriors in Tuxedo jackets, even with the sleeves ripped off, just look wrong. I haven't run across why they're dressed like this yet, but I can't imagine any explanation being sufficient to justify this fashion crime en masse.

That really does seem like it could have its own submenu, like Black Knight costume pieces.

As a longtime Electric Armor user, I don't know about the reduction of drains in power sink. I used that power offensively because tougher enemies could still be drained as a viable tactic.

The buffs back seem twice as a good as what I would get back though!

Curious to test the AoE Hold in Electrical Control.

Curious what new bugs having a hold recharge faster on the number of targets you hit causes.

Bonfire - that change... curious if procs hit you now. I know damage procs in seeker drones never did anything. Will test.

EDIT: Just read the MassivelyOP post on this patch and the comment section, as well as more posts here - I admit I really have only visited CoH occasionally the last  2 years. I'm very much unplugged from the meta and team little. I'll try to change that this Summer to see why there's drama over the changes.

Thanks for D-Sync Enhancements! Just wish things like Resist/End, Heal/End and Damage/Mez had a third stat that made them more viable. Suggestions - add Recharge to Ribosomes, Range to Golgis, and Slows to Peroxisomes. These changes would allow for an endurance cost/range, recharge/endurance, and slow/mez or slow/damage enhancements.

Lots of good stuff here.

Surprised to see an electric armor pass. I always thought it was in a good place, IO's make it stout.

I hope the regen pass makes it feel close to old school. No need to go back to issue 2 days, but it has been pretty wimpy on most scenarios for a long time. Please keep reviewing this and adjust as needed.

Disagree with any nerfs to battle ax. If it is supposedly overperforming, no one has told the player base because they are still rare as hens teeth. i agree with another poster about the end cost and recharge on pendulum. My ax scrapper feels good right now, mostly, it can almost keep up with a broadsword now, so long as you have an endurance tool in the armor set or slot heavily for end reduction. Katana/SR still runs circles around them though, IMO. As these are the three closest related weapon sets, they should feel unique but somewhat even. I think ax was close with how it is live, a bit slower but some big hitters and a bit more aoe.

Oh yeah, mace. Who plays mace? It might be an even more obscure set than ax.

Note: ax is hardly a main character for me. I was simply shocked to see it on the list with reductions. Ax and mace wee the abandoned orphans of the melle sets for years, I don't see a reduction being justified considering it took buffs to even put ax back on the radar for players.

This is indeed awesome. I would also like other customizations. I would love to have them look like the sonic shields.

I would really appreciate not messing with Tanker damage and cone arc, personally. Certain powersets for them, most notably Staff (though I do appreciate the changes being made to Staff Fighting) or Savage Melee, already have some issues with feeling like one is contributing to fights. If the cone arc thing HAS to happen, fine, but please not the damage.

(Edit: Just read elsewhere that the reduction only applies to Build Up and powers like it; my apologies, the wording may want to make that more implicit, i.e. 'self damage buff powers'. The cone arc thing still seems like an odd thing to reduce though.)

...Also RIP Sentinels' absorb toggle on Regen. That sucker saved my bacon so often, and I do worry a bit that the new toggle (aside from not being available for Posi TF) won't work as well for them as it will for Tanker due to their lower max HP cap. But glad Regen finally got a workover, and that some fun Sent stuff is getting shared with other ATs.

And thank you for releasing Seer parts. <3 Super excited about that, those have always been a favorite mob of mine, and I maaay already have a few Seer wanna-bes already who'll like that~ Also super happy about the changes to Dark Armor in general; the crap I used to do to give Cloak of Fear decent accuracy, I tells ya.
