Sakura Tenshi Posted Wednesday at 11:10 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:10 PM Scenes like this just seem increasingly silly to me as time goes on. I mean, yes, those are also Nemesis Automatons, but this also isn't the first or only of such things like this in the game. 1
Snarky Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:57 PM You do know there is a pilot in that thing, right? 2
MTeague Posted Thursday at 12:14 AM Posted Thursday at 12:14 AM A human shaped boss would be nice for some situations. Jump Bots are perfectly fine for a boss level fight / obstacle. But the Jump Bot as a boss in the corner rubbing it's hands together as it contemplates it's nefarious plan, always strikes me as odd. Much less why the human sky raiders feel obliged to protect it. Then again, some of that is Newspapers / Radio missions and perhaps I should just keep my expectations low for them. I do like (read: hate / love to hate) Captain Castillo of the Sky Raiders from the Doc Delilah arc. 1 .
Greyhame Posted Thursday at 01:17 AM Posted Thursday at 01:17 AM Hey, its 2025 - maybe the Sky Raiders put an AI in charge of their operations and it calculated that human leadership was inefficient so there are no human bosses. 1 1

Go0gleplex Posted Thursday at 02:06 AM Posted Thursday at 02:06 AM (edited) What...Sky Raiders aren't supposed to be ran by Skynet?!? (Oo) Kinda puts a whole new twist on the phrase "welcome to our training program." I suppose next someone will say that Freaks aren't powered by Duracell. :P Edited Thursday at 01:59 PM by Go0gleplex 1

I think the issues with Sky Raider leadership get showcased pretty well in Market Crash. If I was Duray, and had a bunch of folks like Captain Castillo in the leadership tier, I too would explore alternatives... 1
High_Beam Posted Thursday at 12:11 PM Posted Thursday at 12:11 PM The Sky Raiders have been a mess since the writers had Virgil Duray and his people side with the Praetorians, Zero sense made there considering what motivated Duray through all story canon. Girls of Nukem High - Excelsior - Tempus Fabulous, Flattery, Jennifer Chilly, Betty Beatdown, Totally Cali, Two Gun Trixie Babes of War - Excelsior - High Beam (Yay), Di Di Guns, Runeslinger, Munitions Mistress, Tideway, Hard Melody, Blue Aria Many alts and lots of fun. Thank you Name Release For letting me get my OG main back!
skoryy Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM Posted Thursday at 12:13 PM (edited) They've been listening to Castillo''s recommendations on how to 'flex' at the other villain groups. Lines Posted Thursday at 01:40 PM Posted Thursday at 01:40 PM Don't see a problem. That's how I turn up to meetings.

Akisan Posted Thursday at 07:28 PM Posted Thursday at 07:28 PM I don't really see a problem with the current set-up either. The Sky Raider Officers are the named boss(es) of many of the arcs, despite only being lieutenant ranked in combat power. The robots may not be in command, but they do hit a lot harder than the humans that brought them along (hence the boss-rank in combat). It's been a while since I ran a large x# sky raider arc, but IIRC, it's very possible to have the named mission target be a Wing Raider Officer ("lieutenant") accompanied by two jump bots ("bosses"). Radio missions, of course, flip this, but so many of them come off as (deliberately) non-canon silly that I don't really count them as part of the game lore. (Or, for all we know, some of the Sky Raiders are getting into theater, and have been programming the jump bots to be dramatic) And as for those groups of Automations in the original post - maybe all we need is more generic boss-tier Automations? I'm sure Nemesis has reverse-engineered something from Praetoria to run on steam. (IIRC, all current boss-tier Automations are copies of various Heroes/Villains)
Scarlet Shocker Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM the enemy group is a long-standing typo. They were meant to be automata controlled by a supra-intelligent computer and called SkAI rAIders How the hell am I even supposed to know if ignorance is bliss?

Truly amazing how insanity and greed will convince a group leader to do the things they have been saying “do not do”. 1
