Ability to DM GM’s

At the risk of looking like an idiot as there may already be this feature on the forums(please point me to it if so!), but I propose the ability to DM GMs.

 

This will allow players the ability to have private conversations and voice concerns without dragging down threads or having an issue become a public scene. 
 

Issues I personally can see with this is players abusing this feature and either DMing and trying to “tell on other players” for minor slights, harassing the GMs themselves(my personal biggest concern).

 

To get around this, perhaps there could be a little subject blerb with the DM that explains why the player is asking to speak to a GM and it can be up to a GM’s personal discretion to answer said DM.

 

Typical TOS rules would apply on all interactions of course.

I think /petition or /report or /bug takes care of this.  The couple of times I've used one I got an almost immediate response.

Three dots on the top right of any post -> Report.

 

This will alert the GMs of anything you would like to alert them to, including adding a note.

 

That works better than DMing a GM because *all* GMs can see the report and it does away with all of those negative things you mentioned.

 

Also, this should be in the website/forum suggestions area.

Just be careful DMing Crumpet asking for a sourdough recipe as they'll want to face time out while cooking to make sure your making the recipe correctly. Those Lingonberry Jam Tarts were amazing btw.

You can DM GMs the same way you DM other posters.  You can hover over their avatar to get a pop-up box with "Message" in the bottom left corner or click on the avatar to open a new page that has "Message" on the top.

 

I do get DMs from time to time.  I respond to most of them.  Some are seeking an appeal of some action I took and for those I send them up to a higher level tier GM.

This is genius. Make it a separate field from the body of the message... and it can show up before you open the message.

 

What should it be called? Maybe they could just use your wording and call it "Blerb."

 

You should DM a couple of GMs your suggestions as well.

Since the GMs are VIPs, I think DMing them ASAP should definitely be on the QT.
