Jocantaro Posted Tuesday at 11:11 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:11 AM Hello, I know DFB's XP was tweaked because, well, people did DFB again and again until lvl 50. It was said that the XP up to lvl 10 would remain untouched but that didn't happen since, after the tweak, I have never managed to get a char past lvl 7 or sometimes not even that on a single run (and yes, I have the DXP and whatnots). I commented with a few (just a few) ppl and they have the same "issue". The reason I am calling it an "issue" is because that extra lvl to get to lvl 8 and being able to join a Posi 1 TF is quite annoying, especially on low lvl chars (at low lvls) such as Defenders or Controllers so I usually join a farm to get that extra lvl but, you know, you go to get some coffee and when back, you're lvl 17 or something like that, so the "ok, let's wait to 20 for Yin" then the "ok, let's wait to 22 so I can equip LotG" the "ok, one more lvl so I can do Moonfire" and so on... ( yeah, I could just get 1 lvl and leave but unfortunately, my willpower is not what it once was). Would it be possible to tweak the DFB XP up, just a notch, so chars can consistently reach lvl 8 in one single run, please? Thx for reading 2 1
MoonSheep Posted Tuesday at 11:24 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:24 AM (edited) why not just do another run for an extra 10 minutes? Edited Tuesday at 11:24 AM by MoonSheep 1 5 1 If you're not dying you're not living
Skyhawke Posted Tuesday at 11:36 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:36 AM (edited) Use double xp and run the Habashy, Officer Fields (his is faster than Costel's) and Thiery quest chain. It can be run in about the same amount of time as a DFB, easy for anyone to solo (especially if you use the free attack powers from the START vendor), gives merit rewards and you'll be level 8 at the end. I never do a DFB anymore, it's less efficient. Edited Thursday at 12:33 PM by Skyhawke 1 Sky-Hawke: Rad/WP Brute Alts galore. So...soooo many alts. Starhawk32 Posted Tuesday at 11:46 AM Posted Tuesday at 11:46 AM (edited) I have heard people ask if you could do it to lvl 50, but my god.....getting from 14-15 takes a whole run. I imagine 3 months later you are at lvl 41 Edited Tuesday at 11:46 AM by Starhawk32 2 1
Jocantaro Posted Tuesday at 12:44 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 12:44 PM Thanks all and stuff but, can anyone in the know let me know if it's feasible and easy to implement or not, please?

Yes, I can. It is feasible. Possibly easy. It is not going to happen. You are welcome. You get a temp power buff that lasts to 22 on DFB and there are 4 of them. All good. I usually run 4, then do Posi 1 & 2. Then i start looking for 4 DiB to extend those buffs to 30 while doing Tarikoss and Synapse. Also, do you do the tutorial and start in Atlas at 2, or just generate and enter Atlas at 1? Would that change this situation? Edited Tuesday at 02:13 PM by Snarky 1
Clave Dark 5 Posted Tuesday at 02:24 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:24 PM As an aside, why rush getting one measly level anyway? This game doesn't begin at 50, so instead settle in, faff about, get used to the basics of your new power sets, stop and stomp the flowers. 4 Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game... ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Clave's Sure-Fire Secrets to Enjoying City Of Heroes Ignore those farming chores, skip your market homework, play any power sets that you want, and ignore anyone who says otherwise. Ghost Posted Tuesday at 04:20 PM Posted Tuesday at 04:20 PM It takes 2 runs with double xp in order to hit lvl9 - which will allow you to run a Posi 1 2
Jocantaro Posted Tuesday at 04:35 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:35 PM Oh dear, I guess it serves me well knowing what was going to happen, as always on these forums. So yeah, well, thanks for everone who replied and all that. 3
Starhawk32 Posted Tuesday at 11:44 PM Posted Tuesday at 11:44 PM Indeed, I run 4 times, get the 4 buffs. At that point I am high enough to lead Posi 1 or at the very least run it at full strength without having to stop and level. And by the Gull, they were all nicer than usual I thought. Typically suggestions seem to end with a moderator stepping into the chat. Unless I missed something. 2

Xalon Posted Wednesday at 01:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:17 AM Even though DFB is fun as a first trial for lower levels, I'll never understand why people run it over and over again until level 20ish. Theres DIB and the Cave, both trials that give lots of xp. I feel weird if I do more than one of each early on as I end up missing out on 20 levels of content. But that is just me. 2

The ones for DIB last until level 30. I can't say that I'm one that has pushed/recruited for DIB runs, but I'll join one when someone else does. 1 If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore. (It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

Ukase Posted Wednesday at 11:53 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:53 PM Enter the curmudgeon who yells because you thought about walking across his lawn. Don't do Posi 1 at level 8! Are you insane? Do it at 20, not level 8. At 20, because the TF caps at 15, and you'll get the powers you chose at 16, 18 and 20 while exemplared to 15. It will be much easier, and you'll even have a lot more slots to be able to contribute more than you otherwise would. Now, I get your logic, and I've also finished the dfb at 7. As I read your post, I follow your logic trail. But there are so many players that complain about how easy things are, I don't see them making things easier. But that's just my opinion. And around here, I have to pay people to hear it! It's obviously worth less than nothing. It costs me! <queue Snarky's promotional ad for donating to any of Snarky's causes>
Lines Posted Thursday at 09:22 AM Posted Thursday at 09:22 AM Don't do DFB after level 5. The best thing to do after level 5 is give up on your dreams of being a superhero, hang up the cape and spend time with your family who love you. They miss you. 2 1

Doing DFB after 5 has merit for those looking to get it at least to 8 so they can do the Posi 1 TF. 2. There are extremely easy solo methods to get to go 1-20's pretty easily(albeit monotonous to an extent) that will also yield millions in influence in doing so in relatively the same amount of time. 3. You can also join the daily(if not twice a day sometimes) Mother Ship raids from level 1 and get in the mid 20's from it in less time. 4. Good ole halloweeen event now or the april fools week one will get you extremely quickly leveled even to 50 too. 5. Do street fighting lake side and beyond it to level 5. Grab all the explorer badges in atlas(extremely easy) for bonus rested. THEN do 1 dfb and you're gonna hit 8 most of the time no problem. All in all there are plenty of paths up the mountain, just people need to make choices. OP can do better.

This is my normal practice -- don't run a TF until you've hit a level that caps the powers you would have available at the max level of the TF -- so for example, Citadel being 25-30, I'd want to be at least 35 before I ran it. 1
