I may play with that idea some on beta with a db/bio to see what I can do. Edit: I still won't be going procmonster on claws. I don't like using shockwave in my ST chain due to its end usage and eviscerate is right out due to its ridiculous animation. Someone tried to pull that move on me would get a boot to the spine halfway through it. Look forward to that. I don't think bio will be able to do this chain without severe gimping or large gaps, because it has to come up with an extra 20% recharge somehow. I think ElA and EnA are the most capable of it given the +rech and the recovery tools. But if you find bio can do it I will subscribe to the Billz Builds podcast immediately. We can ALWAYS gimp up a build more for more recharge. Don't forget day jobs and base buffs to push for even more if needed.

How do you build your SR scrappers? Mind sharing a build I can look at? I usually go pretty balls-out on damage and recharge, but what do you add to SR to get it where you consider it “good enough”?more resists or hp? Pool powers? (I haven’t run aid self in years, never tried rune of protection). I don’t make “pylon builds”, I see plenty of builds on here that pretty much only work for pylons, but this is my actual build that I run content (usually +2/8, mostly cause +4 is a heck of a slog) with, and I haven’t felt particularly squishy. But we might also just have different expectations or standards for survivability. But I don’t feel like I’ve had end problems, never run ageless, like I said I think I’m gonna spec OUT of body mastery 1

I’m amazed at how far a little extra regen goes on a SR character. Also for my brutes and tanks especially I have to get real comfortable at 30% hp and less. Capped defense that can’t be stripped, decent resists and a little regen make taking down that last bit of HP very tough.

Not great but functional. BillZ, that's a great lookin build, and I imagine the extra regen will go pretty dang far. What incarnates are you using with that (and did you use hybrid for yourr pylon run)? I'm gonna try and work up a build that uses BF->AV and can let go of some of the recharge chase in exchange for building out resists and regen, but that still keeps enough room in key attacks for some procs. I'll be definitely drawing heavy inspiration from your slotting wisdom here (I always forget about the Shield Wall set bonuses because most PVP sets hide their best bonuses in PVP only). I would admit that my build is at about the bare minimum of what I consider acceptable survivability, and I'd like to make a tankier second build which uses the wonderful slotting freedom of the DB/SR combo to push survivability while still keeping acceptable DPS (though I suspect this goal would work much better on a brute or tanker, as both can still kill AVs quite effectively with BF->AV, and the combo doesn't really need recharge for much of anything if not using the higher recharge attack chains. Further, I've never really explored adding survivability with Incarnates (other than Rebirth kicking Aid Self out of every build ever), because I don't like when my builds can't function without incarnates (like relying on the Barrier 5% to softcap a build or the recharge boost from Ageless(?) to run an attack chain. My build philosophy always rests around building a complete, self-sufficient character with only IOs, no temps, insps, boosters, etc. (old school scrapper rules) and then using incarnates to add more DPS to an already stable base. I will admit that this leaves me building with blinders on at times, and I've been itching to finally start branching out. That's actually why I fell in love with this combo originally, Dual Blades really only needs 4-7 powers from the primary and can comfortably skip a couple. SR requires 8 power choices, but not necessarily a lot of slots. BF->AV is relatively end efficient as far as high-DPS chains go, so neither set really *NEEDS* anything from IO bonuses or pool powers (other than the virtually universally obligatory Tough, Weave, and Combat Jumping or Hover). Arguably the combo doesn't even need hasten for optimal performance. As such, it ends up being a fantastic baseline "blank slate" to build with, because all the slotting sacrificed to chasing recharge and defense on other combos can be played around with either for power or just for fun experimentation. There's plenty of room to try out wacky pool powers and epics, to try any and every incarnate. Compared to my shield builds, for instance, which have to sacrifice a lot of fun or flavor in the name of ruthless efficiency, perma-hasten, and 45% defenses, I could build this combo with any slotting goals and still know that I'm gonna be able to survive more or less well enough, and do enough baseline damage, to engage in pretty much any part of the game solo or in a group in a way that lives up to my personal standards and expectations for a scrapper. I use Energy Armor. What do you think of this build? I was heavily influenced by Bill's build. Bill, would love to hear your feedback as well, I tried to at least match your build in all the core stats (HP, Regen, S/L/E/N Res). Managed to keep the 2 most important attacks (BF and SS) optimized for the essential procs (the purples, CS, and one -res), and the two attacks that benefit from the critical strikes proc and double-stacked BF are slotted to max out their critical damage, which is a compromise I can accept, especially if I switch back to Assault Core Hybrid. I'm pretty sure I could find a way to squeeze RoP in there if I made other sacrifices, but I haven't tried it out, and I already hate giving up Fly/Hover/EM and Zapp/BL/ES. I mocked up a brute version of this on mids that fit RoP and got much higher numbers on, well, everything. Sure the damage would be much less impressive though. All incarnates the same as before, except with Hybrid Assault CORE instead of radial (no +25% dmg from Empower, BF only staying double-stacked for 2 attacks, and no room for Gaussian's means the +dmg has more benefit than on the prior build, as does the fact that two of the attacks have heavy recharge slotting reduces the benefit of doublehit. Doesn't need Ageless for either the recharge or the end, so I kept Rebirth for a just-in-case heal/regen boost (though I never even had to think about using it against a pylon. Barrier could be an option to push the res higher, not sure if that would be better than the heal.) Dropped a pylon in 2:00 on the dot on my first try. Only did one run with Radial but it was significantly slower, close to 3 minutes. | Copy & Paste this data into Mids Reborn : Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1420;669;1338;HEX;| |78DA65945B53525114C7F7F11C445054241515022101C10ED05317BB8C198D26869| |2BD340E73D48D9D9933CA70A034ABA9AFD0437D83BE47AF5DBF463D78E93AF5448B| |BDD60E1ACEC0FC58FFBD6E7BAF7DC8EFCDF795CBB96B4CE9BF6E19B65D2A6E568D4| |A85579DCB46AD5E352CD67C9CF01D972BA53CB738D7E7EB86559AB38C2D6E87FE2D| |CDF332DFB1B95EAC37AD555EB6F81EB7595F6177D7D297B8513177B63DC2C899DBF| |76B607985B5B0F3C0B4CD0DD3326BFB6EA1142B9C6F796F54CC4D7D6E776BBF9437| |EC1AAFEEFBA193287C0F9C4C3E0DF8C0C3F24D49414965472A635917EB3A267E436| |AC38AE063A7F4650D8712EB12625F9C9840F64F1393C8C137409F8B2D43B02A2BA9| |5469902A0D51A521AAF4049C1D5449739CC74CA72E102F22472E1167914F21C8A98| |80E1B0EE72C4053997F1D187731FF3DE4788998C2A000D7801A2B40B08BDA63AE49| |26166F83D82B7BEECD618F819BC8D38BC405E408387B64060F6D6405C4019961404| |650A630650A538667E0EC256787F7AD2A1A0BBF434EBE277E207E44463F215721D8| |27CBFBC470159086E5BC8785A482342A4B8C367F055D2CFA07EB47CF21CFFC24FE2| |6FEA07B00C1633278EC3B8A311A5D8C461AA391C64F885F91CF2178425E9E099A4E| |FC211EF4F423E201F1324E277915838B101C94C718A4E34BDE22D2B1CED0717AC03| |924B71DA241DC01312233446444EEFFC8B3348822604A66984A614FAF3D8C256486| |C421457C262E2AE25AA5BFA88203502E2533A4A8873558D32983A6CFE016D33A318| |DCC66885964043265289392A15EB2C490D67A7D1B01ADE3F55EEA940A5AEB25668A| |900EDDAD2CE475D4291DB7491ABB8B5BD22671FFDD6B6877AF207BAEE0D53A71B7F| |FBFBCC22DF5BC40BA5F127F69820570CECADDACB71B46BBB1D16EFC051C1DDC69| |-------------------------------------------------------------------| Edited January 16, 2022 by leeowensoas 1
Bill Z Bubba Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Sittin on beta with a db/bio scrapper running empower, ss, repeat. Getting around 1:20 to 1:40 on pylons. At 1PPM, it's just not firing off that often. Also nowhere near the damage cap so Assault Core should be the way to go. Truth. I bust out my claws/bio when I know I'm going to team. Sure, he can solo, but it's a high-clicky and stressful ride. Probably why I lean tank these days. Can slip into autopilot mode and never worry about green and blue bars.

But I only put it in on demand powers, like buildup, FU, or BF. Never really understood it being slotted in stuff like tactics where it has the chance to go off while you're doing nothing. It goes off WAYYYY more than just 1/10 times in stuff like those powers. The base recharge in BU is 90s, even getting the rechar5ge down to about 25s makes that proc go off a LOT. It doesn't go off that sort of consistency in BF/FU but it's definitely way more than 1/10. 1 Pylon and Trapdoor Results Spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1d0VruEHGktnPFvtMLF_MdpKPBe0wgUhzyGvb1DQNQQo/edit#gid=0

As I have been leveling my own claws Bio, this has been my feeling. Stone does seem like a nice medium, but than I think…. Why pick it over Shield on a scrapper? Shield seems to have as good of defense/resists, better DDR and brings a lot of damage with AAO. I might be missing something.

But no agro aura automatically puts it behind Shield. Still fine if playing in a team since -someone- will be a Brute or a Tanker. 1 - Simple guide for newcomers. - Money making included among other things. - Tanker Fire Armor: the Turtle, the Allrounder, the Dragon, and compilation of Fire Armor builds. - Tanker Stone Armor: beginner friendly (near) immortal Tanker for leveling/end-game and Stone Armor framework. - Brute Rad/Stone and compilation of Brute Stone Armor builds.

Is not having an aggro aura a reason why you’d prefer Stone on a Brute or Tanker compared to a Scrapper? I guess that really only comes into play if you’re soloing.

Sovera Posted January 16, 2022 Posted January 16, 2022 Rebuilt my Fire/EM Tanker when I realized I could have a rotation without T1 or T2. Unfortunately it has a bit of a gap before Burn is back (about half a second?). Regardless it's not too bad considering it is done with raw power and no -res are involved. 3:11 3:20 Rotation is Total Focus, Bone Smasher, Energy Transfer, Burn, Bone Smasher. Repeat. Degenerative 25% chance for -HP, Assault unclicked, Musculature 45%. aethereal Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) Haven't run the numbers, but unless your bonesmasher has half the proc rate of your Energy transfer, shouldn't you reverse the slotting of those two? Give all those procs two chances to fire per rotation. Edit: Ah, you probably need the recharge in bone smasher to keep the chain hapless, hasn't really seen that it's back up with just a TF between uses. Edited January 17, 2022 by aethereal
