A Tanker could squeeze under 2 minutes but a Scrapper could also do less than 1 minute with that combo. Usually about a minute difference between them give or take a little.

So went about making a KM/Bio/Soul Scrapper on test

 

Musculature Radial - Hybrid (Not activated) - Reactive Radial

 

CS > MB > SB > QB > BB > SB > Repeat

 

3:39 (forgot to activate Genetic Contamination and Offensive Adaption) for 311.3 DPS

3:12 (forgot to activate Offensive Adaption) for 327.5 DPS

2:23 (finally remembered to activate them both) for 396 DPS

 

SB > BB > QB > MB > SB > BB > QB > Repeat

 

2:28 for 387 DPS

 

Did this because I was thinking of trying KM/BIO Scrapper.

 

With the first one, I put Critical Strike Set in Concentrated Strike.

 

With the second one, I put Critical Strike Set in Smashing Blow.

 

This obviously wasn't equal to @SomeGuy who pulled off a 1:35, but I thought I'd test out a build to see how it worked out.  Doesn't seem that Kinetic Melee is that low on the DPS.

It's not, but you see what I'm talking about when I say it takes some work to figure out. 

 

CS-Snipe-SB-QS-BB-SB

 

Yeah, that's the same chain I was doing. ATO2 in CS. The chain actually was easy to get down, real easy actually. Trying to best figure out (which I'm still sure I didn't get close) how to use Power Siphon was the hard part. It has a LONG duration, so you don't want to use it every time it's up cause there's a really good chance that CS refreshed it.

While I didn't feel CS crit that often, I did hit it every time it was recharged.  As I did the runs, I did wonder if that was best idea.  If it was active at the moment, I didn't figure it stacked and may be wasted.

 

Also, I had no hasten in the build, so it was all able to be done without having to dip into that pool power, so that was nice.

I suspect adding Enflame would get it in to lower if you wanted to. On very high high HIGH DPS builds it won't be that much, but for other ones it would do a lot.

So, did a run, this time, without Assault (wanted to see the difference) and managed to hit a 2:22 (hitting Ablative Carapace once) for 398, using the CSCS > MB > SB > BB > QB > SB > Repeat

 

Now, this isn't to say Assault wouldn't make for a better DPS, however, not so sure it's worth keeping if you have another option, for either more defense or utility.

You're definitely getting better at the rotation is what I read if you purposely took away 10% damage and had to stop attacking to heal. 😄

I did try to keep an eye on Power Siphon buff, but after a bit I was just hitting it when it recharged.

 

Still, would be nice if Concentrated Strike went down to the same animation time as Total Focus minimum.

Yeah, I've gotten similar results with it. It's undeniable that it does increase your dps, but for whatever factors are at play, the perceived dps increase doesn't seem noticeable much, if at all. YMMV

I definitely don't feel like there is enough reward for figuring the set out. You can't faceroll KM and do good damage. You can with almost everything else.

 

And I only notice Assault on measured runs.

I don't know.  From my playing, better off using the first 3 attacks and Burst (the PBAOE) for normal missions.  Quicker and more damage and Power Siphon is mini Fury mode.  CS and Burst seem a bit to long on keeping the buffs going as good as the first three attacks.  However, that CS crit to reset Power Siphon, feels to be part of what helps the sets DPS.  I'm curious if one would be better off with max recharge in Power Siphon instead of using CS.

 

For sure, feels like one would benefit from recharge in Power Siphon (not just relying on CS crit) to keep that buff up more often.  With the duration of the 31% DMGT buffs lasting 20 seconds, allowing Power Siphon to do better than Build Up, if they both are maxed out in recharge, as it's quick to move up to 5 20 second buffs.

Set would probably get more love from players if the animation to CS was just a bit shorter.  Maybe Burst too, but CS for sure.

Pulled a 2:10 with KM/BIO Scrapper using

 

SB > BB > QB (Superior Critical Strike Set) > Repeat w/ Moonbeam whenever it recharged.

 

Power Siphon had 2 Level 50 Recharges +5'ed and a Guassian Proc.

 

Thought I'd see how it did without trying to reset PS w/ Concentrated Strike.  Haven't gotten that 1:35 yet 😞

Getting around 3:30 with KM going SB > BB > QB > Zapp > SB > BB > QB > Repeat on a KM/SR ... T4 Radial Reactive (tho I believe it's Degenerative Core for best on Pylons), Assault Hybrid (Passive only) and Musculature Radial.   35 Second Recharge on Power Siphon (no Hasten).

 

What's Claws usually getting?  CS > SB > BB > QB > SB > Zapp > Repeat (with no additional damage auras) looks to equal the high recharge on Power Siphon (maybe with Hasten it would pull ahead a bit more).

Still haven't matched @SomeGuy 's 1:35 - Though that may be because he used Musculature Core.

That's some damned nice progress. My personal reasoning for doing CS-MB-SB-QS-BB-SB repeat is getting that damage stack in to CS, since it can start dropping off during MB's cast. One day I do intend to revisit the build. I'll use an unslotter in MB to take the damage proc out and replace it with Decimation: BU proc instead. 😛 You are right though, the difference in Muscle Alphas can actually really add up when measured. Not measured? Who cares.

As someone who was an original fan of Kinetic Melee, I can confirm that no matter what variation you run having CS in the chain will never dramatically supersede SB BB QS purely on miss chance. One miss of CS is so devastating to KM’s chain that it offsets its DPS like a wrecking ball.

 

I had a question though on whether you have any procs loaded out in the trio besides the AT one? I don’t recall seeing you mention anything on this aspect and it can be a big impact on additional damage since each of those attacks have room for several.

I have been using 2-3 Procs in the attacks, except for whatever attacks has had Critical Strikes (I put the other ATO set in Burst).

 

As for CS, I have worked on builds that rely just on QB/ BB/SB and the Snipe.  And yes, it looks like one can do without CS, putting recharges into Power Siphon to make up for lacking the Crit of recharging Power Siphon. 

 

I've come to feel that CS really needs to be put down to Total Focus level animation minimum.  During regular content, I generally avoid CS and just rely on the first 3 attacks and Snipe.

@BrandX, I went to do some comparison thinking on you're attempt to improve by looking back in the thread for old attempts on KM I know I ran with Tanks but I couldn't find that post buried in the mess of things (I'm not even 100% certain it's in this thread versus another one). I did remember I had a video of it though and was able to reference a few time snaps from that though at the rough cuts were 3:00-3:30

This is painfully true. One miss on a run? I'll keep going. Two? I scrap it and move on to another. It may be more devastating to missing the opener with old TW.
