Then, I have no more ideas. Sorry.

Doing nothing, would be far better than doing this. 😠 :cough: Masterminds :cough:

How likely is this reborn CoH to suddenly shut down?
PaxArcana replied to unblocked's topic in General Discussion
HC is free. The only thing you risk is time. .. Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls. -
Borderless Fullscreen will do exactly as you describe, if the game is set to a resolution other than the monitor's native resolution. I had this happen to me the other day, actually, when I started up Fallout 4 with Borderless turned on, rather than just outright Full Screen. Game was running in 640, monitor is 1080, I got the top left 1/4 of the screen being the game, the rest my desktop.

It's both, actually. 🙂 Trademark and Copyright.
-
That only muddies the waters, when it comes to the court assigning a valuation to the infringement. It's still an infringement. And it never has to see the inside of a court, for the HC devs to lose; a big enough company (e.g. Disney/Marvel) could simply choose to drag the process out, and drown the defense in legal costs, until they are forced to settle for whatever the big company elects to offer.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AND DANGEROUSLY INACCURATE. It is not required that you make a profit, to have infringed upon someone else's copyright. It is only required that you make an unauthorised copy. Let's say, I wrote a novel, and self-published. I manage to get it on Amazon, for $20 a copy. You start handing out bootleg copies, absolutely for free. Hell, it costs you money, 'cause you're paying to make those copies, and charging $0 for them. You wind up handing out five thousand copies. You have still infringed on my copyright, and I can still sue you. I can, in fact, sue you for $20 per copy you handed out. Long-standing precedent establishes that each copy you handed out, the court assumes would have been a sale .... which your infringement has denied me the revenue from. It wouldn't even matter, if I had never made a legal sale at all - because it would be assumed that your five thousand copies would have been legal sales. ALL of them. You would be on the hook for $1,000,000 ... plus my legal and court costs. And it doesn't matter that you made no profit, It doesn't even matter that you suffered a net loss - you would still be sued for $1M, and you would have a snowball's chance in hell of not losing.

Then why bother insisting that they could/would/should do exactly that? -
"Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt". Essentially accusing anyone who does not charge blindly forward, heedless of all risks, of cowardice, and fomenting the same in others. And, basically, Juba's response for any sense that there may be undesirable consequences for a given course of action.

... so you want our very few, all-volunteer GMs to spend the whole night, every night, invisibly watching every Hami raid on the off-chance that maybe one of them might get griefed? -
What's tired, worn out, and old ... is your incessant repetition of "FUD" whenever anyone counsels caution or self-restraint. Oh, but you do. Very, very falsely indeed.

You probably have the game set to 720p, instead of 1080p.

Sounds more like Parody, to me. (And thus, legally protected.) Yayy for you! 🙂

This, to my mind, is the solution. Especially for the Hamidon. -

That's why, I said /global_ignore. You can only change your global handle so many times, before the GMs stop obliging you with new tokens. And, side benefit: it doesn't matter if you have one 50, or a hundred of them. Once someone ignores your @global ... all your characters are ignored. -

.... and the community is small enough that it doesn't take pissing a whole lot of people off, before you find yourself on /global_ignore by all the active raid leaders. It is, literally, a self-correcting problem. Social Darwinism, at work. 🙂 -
Q-Q-Q-Q-QUADRUPLE POST ...! 😄

My main on Live was a Robotics/FF Mastermind. I've recreated him (with a bit of a twist, and as a Hero rather than a Villain) here. And, you know what? I'd be fine with that. Another thing we could do, is just add the Endurance costs together, as well as the Recharge rate (which won't neuter them, as they're already AoE). So, the new shield would have all of the END cost of the two separate shields, provide 80% as much benefit, and take roughly twice as long to recharge. Please do that ... even though I, myself, won't benefit from it, it does open up a spot for Force Field to have a self-defense power. A simple toggle that provides very modest (say, 10%) defense against the same things the two separate shields cover right now.

... you say that, as if we didn't already have it ...

.... triple post alert. 🙂

Ha. That's the core of Boston, in the most densely-built part of it. And more, that's a building right on the Public Gardens. Essentially, it's roughly the Boston equivalent of Park Avenue. Down toward Roslindale, West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, and Hyde Park - IOW in the far south of the city - you can find condominiums for between $200K and $400K, or full-on "house with a yard" for $300K to $550K. 🙂
-
Ooooooooh, yeah. The town I live in hasn't even got a 6-story building. The nearest "city", Lowell Massachusetts, has a handful of buildings over 5 or 6 stories (and one of them belongs to the University). But in Boston? In and around the Financial District? Thirty, forty, fifty story buildings, three and four to a block. A large number of them being chock full of condominiums. And boy let me tell you, the price on some of THEM ...! Hell, here's one that leaped out at me: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/220-Boylston-St-APT-1412-Boston-MA-02116/59176152_zpid/ It's on the 14th floorof a 15-story building, right across the street from the Boston Public Gardens. 2 beds, 2 Baths, just under 1,700 square feet, with valet parking and one deeded garage parking space. The asking price? $3,295,000 USD ... with an HOA fee of $3,596/month and a tax bill of $23,570/year. Oh, and no pets allowed... (EDIT to add: there's a $5.5M unit in the same building, and a $6.85M unit in the building next door ...)

Many times in a high-rise condominium (or a co-op), each unit will be CALLED "apartment ###". For example, I searched Zillow for condominiums and co-ops in Boston. The top result "apartment 615" in it's building .... and it's listed for $1,168,000 ... for a 2-bedroom unit, roughly 1,100 square feet of space, and not even in the heart of Boston (it's in East Boston, not far from the airport ... two blocks or so away from Maverick Station on the Blue Line). Granted, it's a corner penthouse unit, but still... When renting, yes. When buying ... "apartment" is often used as a short-hand for "garden style" condominium and co-op units (as opposed to townhouses, which have yards). Also, the apartment building my mom rented a unit in when I was age 15-19, is now condominiums, so there's also that.

I had the same thing happening to me. I forget exactly what I did, but I think it involved making sure the directory the screenshot was being saved to, wasn't write-protected.

Slightly less durability (but definitely not sqishy), and way more DPS. Like, way way WAAAAY more. (Especially Brutes, once their Fury bar is filled up and they keep on fighting ...) +1 to this. Except, I agree with Heraclea that you've got Scrappers and Brutes backwards. I've recently begun playing a Dual Blade / Willpower Brute, and I hate hate HATE running out of enemies ... because it means my Fury is going to wane, and with it, my nigh-godlike (for his level) damage. +1 to this, as well. 🙂
