  1. Nukes don't need nerfing. They're the *BLASTER Tier 9.* They SHOULD be doing damage. Blasters already inherently trade defenses for damage - not everyone builds "I'm def-capped to everything, recharge capped" builds. What needs nerfing is what makes them (Blaster nukes) irrelevant in end game. Judgement in non-Incarnate content. Where YOU get a nuke and YOU get a nuke and EVERYONE gets a nuke! Besides, you're (A) describing Incarnate-buffed nukes, forgetting there's an (even larger now that they get them earlier) swath of the game BEFORE 50 that nukes are available and certainly *don't* do that and (B) not remembering Corrupters, Defenders and Kheldians have them as well, and they certainly aren't a problem.
  2. Eh. I'm probably sounding like a broken record, but it's generally RP-based. Otherwise... *shrug* Creating a new character. Picking someone at random. Getting a wild hair to get people (say) in the teens to the 20s, or the nearest 5-level (43 to 45, for instance.) Whatever I feel like that particular moment.
  3. I've barely done anything in the mapserver event. *shrug* Little bit of a boost on one or two, but... for me, they need to be *characters.* So I tend to want to play them and have it feed back into their "personality." Can't say I've ever particularly been in a great rush to 50. Ton of alts, granted...
  4. Eh, maybe but it's got a bit too much historical baggage to it.
  5. Not overlooking it at all. I'm blending it with retaining some degree of player agency, while feeling the effects of battling the Well (granted, "mildly") to keep control. Statesman, after all, wasn't enslaved to the Well - but he was very careful with his powers and *seeking* more power specifically to avoid it. You're not turned into an automaton, after all. It's also why there's a proposal for contacts and an arc to finally fight and free yourself. Which itself, granted, is a bit "fast and loose" with the lore... on the other hand, there's nothing to say it *can't* be done. We know the Wells can be defeated and consumed - that was part of the whole theme of the Battalion. And while I've no interest in seeing them or that story emerge, it - as well as the existence of Ascended, and proposals for still higher beings - opens the door wide to at least being able to fight the Well.
  6. Another "this would take a lot of work, but..." When doing Mender Ramiel's arc to unlock Alpha, Lady Grey mentions two paths to the Well's power. Assuming you don't completely ignore it (or the arc, and just naturally get the power,) there should be an option to take the "fast" path. With downsides, of course. Taking the fast path, you're subject to - or at least at risk of - the whims of the Well. Yes, you immediately can get some T4 powers slotted - but the Well might have need of you and give you some tasks you should *really* do *right now.* (Well, next.) It may decide no, that guy *right there* is the one that needs to be hit with Judgement, regardless of what else you're doing. It may grow displeased with you and start depowering you at times. Or it may be quite pleased with you and amp things up for a bit. (We'd likely need another UI element to show the favor or displeasure of the well as some sort of meter.) Of course, eventually you'll probably want to break free of the Well's control - at which point you'll have to seek out a contact who knows about this sort of thing and can assist you in doing so. (Or three, which mostly have dialog and flavor differences - natural, technological and magical means.) Of course, the Well's disfavor will grow throughout this arc, making it harder to fight against it, resulting in you being at your lowest point when you end up fighting some other Champions, as well as (finally) a representation of the Well itself holding a fragment of your essence hostage. (Not saying "soul" as that enters into "but my character doesn't have one." Essence is ... a bit more handwavey.) Now, while you're under the Well's favor, you'll still (in the background) be unlocking your various slots and gathering salvage, threads, etc. (Whether at a debuff or not - I'll leave that up to game balancers.) You *can't* change your Well-Incarnate powers without permission from the well (probably a short task - a mission from the Well that lets you swap one out, probably one per day.) So you will be able to slot whatever you've unlocked. (This will probably have to alter the Mender's mission, too, as you're making the choice to take the Well's offer - probably when you talk to Honoree.) Why? Variety. Giving the player a choice - some characters likely would take the power *now* regardless, after all. Broadening the experience.
  7. Nope, you're right. I was thinking of the vault when I wrote that, since you can sort by rarity, for instance, and just drag stuff around like your normal storage window.
  8. I'm personally shocked nobody's said "take her to dinner first." But yeah, she's a rough fight. The very last one in Night Ward can be tough, too. Been a while since I've done either, but my general strategy is to "bring distractions." Pets, teammates, anyone she can share the love with so it's not all focused on you.
  9. Ɔouƃɹɐʇs ou ɐu ɐɔʇnɐl sɥoɹʇ dosʇ· Also when you make changes, the undo is to the left.
  10. Actually... you can't. Go ahead and try to create a character, start their name with "The." It will *immediately* erase it as soon as you hit the space bar after the E. It will let you put it in in the *middle* of the name - Alexander The Great would work, but not The Great Alexander. You'd have to use the little dropdown, which is ignored as part of your name.
  11. That's why I limited it to "a mission." Just a little something extra.
  12. The EMP glove isn't really tied to a zone's overarching story, though. And we do both get a good number of missions (even task forces) involving the Clockwork and learn their actual story. (The glove *should* honestly be tied to something, though. There are ... what, three one-off missions that have you testing things against the clockwork? Tying those together would be interesting.) And yes, we do ... "learn" about the ghosts, but it's so... "eh" and "so this happened" and then they're done, so I wanted to give them something more.
  13. Two questions. One, how does one tie an AI to a chair, and two, since it doesn't have a face (generally,) where do you shine the light?
  14. So the last thing you do for Gordon Bower in Salmanca is go see Skipper Legrange to get the Divining Rod temp power from him and "get information from all ghosts." Temporary power, has 20-ish charges and only lasts in this mission. However, the outcome of the mission is fixed, whether you used the rod or not. So, how about a tweak: - Shorten the cooldown on the rod and give it more charges. - Get rewarded (with another mission) if you use it enough. Now, the rod can miss (thus, more charges,) but - say - if we give it 50 charges and you use it successfully on 30 ghosts, Skipper gives another mission to you specifically dealing with the ghosts (and gets a little bit of a dialog change - if you don't use it at all, something like "well, this doesn't seem to have gotten anything, fortunately just from exposure to the environment I can tell a little," if you only get - say - 1-10 or 11-29, he can give current dialog and at 30+ he'll be thrilled, give even more information and mention having something else that may give more information. I *suspect* the best mechanic for this would be a badge that gets awarded at "defeat 30 ghosts using the Divining Rod." Doing the mission (or not) has nothing to do with completing all the Salmanca arcs and getting the bonus merits. Purely optional. And for Ouro, while playing through Gordon Bower's arc again would work (and suck if you had to do it again because you happened to just get 29...) for convenience I'd almost want to see just something similar to the last mission get handed out, with Skipper as a contact. What the mission itself would be? Honestly... not sure. There are so many nooks and crannies to poke around in in Salmanca. The ghosts just sort of are used a very few times and forgotten.
  15. I *want* to say it's affected in some way by how or in what order they were put in - someone mentioned it a while back to me. Not 100% on that, though, So it's likely some odd database-type thing. Whether it is or not, though, yeah, having it stabilized so it doesn't suddenly reorder while pulling enhancements would be nice. And no, the salvage racks don't - you can pull entire stacks and *sort* them, where the enhancements are shown as a list that occasionally changes as you pull stuff.
  16. No, no, hyper. They're not asking if the graphics setting/technique has anything to do with AI. They're wondering if the *poster* is going through and using AI given their posts consistently being ... well, like their posts.
  17. ... thus an "extended info." CLick or hover over it, see what that character has, inf, vl, last logout spot, whatever. Keep from cluttering up the character select screen.
  18. This is something else I think I'd rather have on an "extended info" screen rather than on the main character select screen - at least not showing with name and level. But an overhaul of the character select screen would be nice - depending on what that part of the system can "see" about our characters.
  19. Well, three if you count swoon and collapse... falling down facefirst just short of bed just *fits* some days. 🙂
  20. I'm ... not sure why we're having this conversation. I'm using what I like and am used to, and have on screen what I want... if that works for you, great, my binds work for me.
  21. Prefer binds. Have since I3. Switch forms, tray switches and (for the warshade) the teleport binds, proper powers on the active row.
  22. Honestly... I'd rather not. There are times I'll throw pets against the last whatever's attacking me and back way off, enough to use rest - I wouldn't want them to stop attacking (and take the -def) when I do. Now, having a command or power to put them into rest? Sure.
  23. About the only changes I make are binds which load for masterminds and Khelds - both using the numpad. (Yet another reason I'll never go tenkeyless.)
  24. Nothing. If I don't enjoy it, I don't do it. *shrug* What "it" may be changes over time. Used to do a bunch of MSRs, now it's rare. I'll do them again later when I get the itch again. I just don't really care about "rewards." I care about time with friends in game, RP and developing stories.
