... have to second this. Did this before all the sets were really a thing. Just stunning everything constantly was hilarious.
-
... for the same reason that clubs do on event nights and SGs do when they're recruiting? "I have information I need to repeat on where to find a thing/who to contact, and they need to be somewhere people will see them!" Not a difficult concept. They're not running a bot *in/during the raid.* Given you are acting like you are on Everlasting (since you're complaining about what SnoBahr said, and are in this subforum) you *have* to have run across this many, many times. There seems to usually be at least 2-3 different groups doing the same thing for their SGs/events practically every night.

No. "Oh god, why did they have to go EVERYWHERE on all those PLANETS on star wars? Why couldn't they just have had the whole thing on that desert place? They could've redone the story and probably saved a good half the movie!"

Putting snipes back the way they were now that there's a fast snipe IO is even better - I shouldn't have to slot to get my original functionality back - but I'd take a "perma slow snipe IO" if I had to.
-
But it's still shorter than the regular snipe. For instance. Took a Dark Blast character into the Vanguard base. Backed up about as far as I can - 138 feet befor eI hit the wall. Default snipe range - 150 feet. Hit with no problem. Slotted fast snipe. Didn't move. Couldn't hit the target. Out of range. Finally could fire at 89 feet. Much closer (and closer to possible aggro) than the regular snipe. So, yes, it's "fast snipe/range," but it doesn't come *close* to making up for the lost range. It adds about 10 feet. But I *lose* 60 on Moonbeam. Meanwhile I *do* have to "wait around" for fast snipe to *go away* so I can engage the target I want to use at range if I've been anywhere near combat. Because, you know, dangerous single target that I want to clear *before engaging the others.* Thus... the long range and damage of a snipe. Yes, I have always hated fast snipe since its introduction. Snipes should have been left alone - if you want the fast snipe, use the IO.

That's called "Invulnerability." Not "Stone armor." Pick the set that's most appropriate for your character. Also Optimus Prime is a robot, not a "rock boy." Not even in Michael Bay's ... versions.

Because not all TFs have stories that are told in one zone.

Port Characters from the Original Game?
Greycat replied to CalvinistDadfly's topic in General Discussion
Aside from possibly dealing with some power changes, I'd say perfectly playable. There's nothing so massively changed that a (say) issue 4 character with SOs couldn't play through the game. No, they wouldn't be joining multi-star hardmode TFs, but there's nothing that would make it particularly difficult to play. Now, if they were used to dumpster diving with a zone full of mobs, they'd find the play*style* had changed, sure. But playability itself? As someone who (a) had a character who still had original stamina in a build on live at the end and (b) has played "emulate early issues" (TO/DO/SO only, adhere to original limits for when you could pick - say - travel powers, pick some throwaway powers to emulate taking the Fitness pool at the proper levels) - didn't really have any issues playing. -

Port Characters from the Original Game?
Greycat replied to CalvinistDadfly's topic in General Discussion
If you have character *builds* (like mids files,) you can probably use them as a guide - not sure how much the current Mids would like the old file versions. But as others have said. Characters themselves? No. -
... and this reply was needed roughly *three and a half years after the last post* why?

Shards need to go away, frankly. It "made sense" (from a "keep people paying to play this") perspective on live - one currency for Alpha, a different one for Lore/Destiny/Judgement/Interface, etc, but here, no. As far as not seeing the recipe? Scroll down when looking at Alpha - and *only* Alpha - abilities, and you'll see things made with other components (Nictus fragment, Gr'ai matter, etc.) These are created with Shards. They'll be in your create tab. If you're already slotted up on Alpha and have everything you want from there, just convert to threads. You can do a 10 for 10 once a day (with a 1 million inf fee, IIRC) or 10 shards for 5 threads the rest of the time - or just let them keep building up. I have characters with hundreds because I can't be bothered with the useless things.

Empathy Rez should have more range.
Greycat replied to Shadow Metal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, my issue with it has never been range. It's wasting it when someone's AFK or otherwise not accepting it - i really wish there were a way to set it up to auto-recharge (or get a *massive* recharge boost) if not accepted. -
What AT is best for tanking multiple groups? 'cause "Tank" ain't it.

Because is not borscht. -
I *want* to say this was looked into on live and broke things. Not going to absolutely say it 100% though, going from rusty memory.
-
I had to double check on something... it does just search on "rating," not "My rating," which you could otherwise use instead. So... yeah, that or some other bookmark of some sort would be handy.
-
And yet people have to *do something* to see that, as opposed to having it just openly displayed, is the way it is now. STO and the others have *other* reasons for showing the chat handle - including duplicated names, something else that there's a distinct want/not want here. (I also never said it's the only reason - but it could be one of the deciding factors for some.) Right now, there's no particularly compelling reason to have that showing. The idea's asking for a change that would be forced on people one way or another if it went through (yes, like any other change to the game.) But instead of just changing, say, how a power looks, it's linking to something that could well be tied to their actual identity... for what? (People do, after all, often use the same handles through other games and other media.)

Drastically increase the radius of team shielding powers
Greycat replied to Aean's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's ... one fast recharging click. Or two. It's even AOE now. Which, mind you, means as a buffer I can't skip the people who don't want it or need it. And yes, I've had people complain - only thing they can do is get out of range. And I certainly wouldn't want to switch the cast and effect range. I do *not* want a squishy buffer getting closer to the enemies. Honestly, if someone else is running off doing their own thing, their safety is on them. If they run out of range and die? Then they should be staying with the team. -
While I don't mind the thought of having more reason to visit up there, there *are* also (a) DE monsters (not GMs) and (b) at least one bit of an easter egg if you look around a bit more up there... don't think it's on the map, actually. 😉

Is it possible to bring back the old Fire/Plasma Shield VFX?
Greycat replied to Jack Spanky's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Not sure if that's still in the game assets. Had to go back and double check if you were just missing seeing an option, and I don't see it. If it's available? *shrug* Sure. More options. -
Wanna try again champ? I've put quite a bit out there, live and here. "Let's try to broad-brush everyone who doesn't like an idea I do" isn't a good look. Brush that wide, you might slap yourself in the face with it. Don't do it. Yes, that includes your signature.
-
And I'm sure some of the people here don't play STO don't because of it. "Because that's how it works over there" isn't much of an argument. And frankly, you don't need to understand - and I'm not being snarky (or @Snarky ) about that. I think I'd mentioned elsewhere, I don't understand why people get so wound up over not seeing their character in the middle of a fight (with powers, etc going off everywhere anyway) but... *shrug* doesn't hurt me, doesn't hurt the game, makes them happy, sure.
-
I don't generally mind. THe only time it really gets to be "a lot" is in - say - an MSR or an invasion, and I have bigger things to worry about at that point. Honestly I've never really gotten the "I can't see my character" thing... outside of a mission or when you're not fighting? Sure. Middle of a fight? What, you want to make sure you're a pretty corpse? But... *shrug* no skin off my nose.
