  1. The Joy of Clubbing (War Mace/Invuln Scrapper) Joy Johnson practically lived at nightclubs--always dancing and partying. She raved with some Carnies in Pocket D one night and woke up the next day brainwashed and inducted into the Carnival of Shadows running the High Striker game where people try to ring the bell with a mallet. Later that week, heroes stopped the Carnival and Joy was set free from their magical mind-control before it permanently held. But Joy's mind hasn't been right since--she can't get enough of swinging mallets and clubs! Instead of fighting these urges, she registered with Hero Corps to put her new found passion of "clubbing" to good use. However, this passion can be too intense and she sometimes crosses lines to the dismay of Hero Corps. When not on patrol, Hero Corps encourages Joy to dance and party all night long in Pocket D, Paragon Dance Party, or even Studio 55 to burn off her over-enthusiasm of clubbing villains. After that night.... Not being right in the head, Joy likes to dress up! (Timely homage to The Mighty Thor...) ...More will be on the way once I unlock my final 3 costume slots! (I'm only lvl 9 at the moment. lol)
  2. Interesting. This has never happened for me or my friends when we did it. We ALWAYS had to complete the mish to get the badge when done through Ouro. I guess we were always unlucky. (And yes, I know there is no "popup" for the badges.)
  3. If you do the mish through Ouro, you have to defeat Nightstar. If you have the mish directly from Maria, you only have to walk on/off the map. Same with Multidimensional - if through Ouro, you have to complete the mish to get the badge. If you have it directly from Tina, just have to walk on/off.
  4. Animations - not an issue as they are not long at all. AR has some of the shorter times of all the blaster sets No Aim - sure. I can see people not liking that. But AR does have a higher base Acc than other blaster sets. Not enough to match an Aim power, but it is something at least - maybe they could bump up the base Acc more? But honestly, I don't miss Aim and I wouldn't want to lose any of the powers in the set already for it. So, I guess I'm fine with the set as is. Lethal Damage - well, of course it's lethal damage, that's what bullets do. You're always going to do lethal damage. But you also get Fire Damage (which you want to take out of the set). You also need to remember, AR is one of the legacy sets - it was one of the first blaster sets in the game and the only rifle option you had was the legacy "super-soaker" that had not only the rifle, but a flame thrower attachments, grenade/beanbag launcher, and shotgun. So that's why the set is a hodge-podge of things. And while yes, it's an old set, it has still stayed solid and on par with the others through the years. Really, there is nothing wrong with AR and there is nothing to "fix." Maybe the ONLY thing to upgrade AR with would be to have an alternate animation where you fire the rifle shouldered, not from the hip (like you get inherently with Beam Rifle) - that's the only upgrade that AR really needs, imo.
  5. Try it with Will Power instead? You can get good regen and probably higher resists for what you may want to do? My Titan/WP Brute has no issues with ITF. Or even better, WP Tank?
  6. They don't? My bad. I would've swore they did. Oh well! 🙂
  7. Storm/Ice is a great combo and love the look of your toon!
  8. First of all, if you want to go Regen, a Tank is better than a Brute - even though they both have same HP cap, the Brute has a lower base HP so it's much harder to get to the HP cap. A Regen Tank can easily be perma at the HP cap and have better overall slotting since they don't have to work so hard to get the extra HPs. And... if you want all the resists, then you should have gone Will Power instead. 🙂 But since this is what you chose and are going for.... then below is what I came up with for a Regen Brute with most of your choices.... 3112 HPs (perma) which is 100 HPs shy of cap More Regen More overall defense and soft-capped to melee. More defense just makes your darkest night that more potent. More S/L resists (but slightly less on the others) Hopefully, some of these differences will help you out. 🙂 This Hero build was built using Mids Reborn 3.2.17 https://github.com/LoadedCamel/MidsReborn Click this DataLink to open the build! 9. It was an AT I hadn't played before. So I made one to try it out. It's ok. I've played several over the years with different powersets. I still prefer a Blaster. 😄
  10. Yes, players CAN drop multiple titans in a zone. But also, there is something else other than player-activated spawning to these random sightings where 10+ titans frequently show up in a zone. I've been to many of these and not all are in Talos and not all titans spawn at the same time as you would see if multiple players dropped into a zone at same time. My first encounter was in Skyway, to the West near the KR gate (so not near a portal drop-off point). We had 14 titans spawn and they were all one right after the other. As soon as the first one died, a second spawned, and as soon as it died, a third spawned - all spawned on top of us. It is near impossible and mostly improbable that a coordinated player event spawning 14 titans immediately 1 right after the other occurred. The death of one titan spawned the next one - it was certainly not a player dropping into a zone as there would be no way for that player to instantly port to the West side of Skyway by the KR gate. So.... there has to be some mechanic, bug, or GM-driven action to drive at least SOME of these events.
  11. All the Dark Nictus attacks have a -Speed and -Rech debuff to it. If they all hit you, you're gonna feel it and you can easily get massive negative % debuffed. Higher defense (so they miss you) and set bonuses with slow resistance, hasten, and +Rech bonuses help counter. But the massive slow and -rech debuffs are normal. As for the -end you experienced... Neither Traitors or Nicti are supposed to do that. It's strange no one else has reported it , so it may be an intermittent issue. So next time it happens, you may want to grab a screenshot or two the debuff on you.
  12. I've played many /mental combos back on live. /Mental pairs well with most anything - so you can't go wrong with any primary. I chose to recreate here on Homecoming my fav which is Dual Pistols/Mental for all the PBAOE attacks - and yes, I'm counting Bullet Rain (targeted AOE) as a PBAOE as I am always targeting a mob next to me and the "circular" attack hits at point blank range. I can pretty much level any mob I stand in the middle of and quickly move to the next - lot o' fun!
  13. The simplest and easiest way to get to any base is to have a macro for enterbasefrompasscode [base#]... then just click your Long Range Teleporter from anywhere in the game (even on a map) and then hit your base passcode macro button. So all the old macros for insta-base entry are still valid - it jsut takes 2 clicks to enter instead of 1: first click LRT, then click the macro. Rapid Response and Monitor Duty and even Base Portal Temp Power are not really needed at all.
  14. Thanks for posting something about how you feel about Cel Shading. I've wanted to vent something for a long time in that I just cannot stand the Cel Shading rendering. I get how it gives that "comic book" look and feel - but details are lost and many of the simpler costumes look bland with it and many of the more detailed costumes look muddy. Finding a costume that is balanced for it is rare (and some people here have done that). But even then, I'd still prefer the in-game look so I can see more clearly what the person has created. I actually get frustrated and disappointed when I see a Cel Shaded post and I have a hard time "liking" what could be an awesome costume just because I feel like it might be incomplete and I can't see the details. I know many others will disagree, but this is my issue and unfortunately how I feel about it. You all keep doing you and making awesome costumes! 🙂
  15. Butterscotch Meringue Pie - always and forever!
  16. Great list! But you're missing Dilemma Diabolique. It should appear after DA arcs and Minds of Mayhem and prior to Belladonna's arc. 🙂
  17. I prefer option 2 (without the CoT skirt). Cleaner / less messy-looking. ....but just my opinion. 🙂
  18. As mentioned above, because they are different powers from different pools. If they were exactly the same, then why have 2 different powers? A longer answer is, the Speed Power Pool is a traditional "Travel" power pool (Like Flight, Jumping, and Teleportation), whereas Experimentation is an "Origin" power pool (Sci/Tech) that just happens to have a travel power in it (like Sorcery (Magic) and Force of Will (Natural/Mutant)).
  19. SR is perfectly fine the way it is. In fact, it's darn great! A +heal or +end power is NOT needed and would only make the set a cookie-cutter clone of others. Defense can built high enough that you are rarely, if ever, touched and even if so, inspires and the resistances you get from sets and other means make it so it's not very painful. Sets also make it so you can easily manage your endurance consumption - so there really is no issue there either. If you still have end issues, then relook at your build. Elude is the only power out of the set that is useless. There is no need for it. You can get your defense high enough without it and again, end use is easily managed with sets. I've seen some people doing the old-school perma-elude builds and and they have to stop and rest every few mins while the remainder of the team (including my untouched SR toons without Elude) move on without them.
  20. Combat Teleport is a great power and very useful. And no, it will not take you out of Hide or Stealth. The +To Hit is great for your alpha strike. I generally put a single range IO in and that's it. But you can slot it up with To Hit sets and procs, if you wanted.
  21. While you can skip and some do, the Defense Debuff Resistance you get from Grant Cover is huge for the Shield Powerset and should be considered heavily - even when solo and fighting things that can / may debuff you.
  22. The game doesn't necessarily change at lvl 50. Your character keeps growing post-50 as you become even more powerful and the game continues to grow with you with increased difficulty content. Reaching lvl 50 and becoming an Incarnate and doing the incarnate trials and the Dark Astoria content is really something to continue experiencing. Stopping before 50 or right at it is like not even allowing your character to fully realize their potential. You should give it a try. 🙂
  23. Clearly, you've not seen any of my posts. 😄 ...tiny compared to mine. lol
  24. I agree with others who have replied here.... YES to: an NPC to give advice on ED, Law of 5s, Pros and cons of catalyzing or not and using Boosters, and other generic info that is not currently in-game and has to be learned the hard-way or pouring through pages of forum posts. NO to: The NPC scanning your build for any "pitfalls." Slotting and builds are completely subjective and the freedom to slot any power in any way is what makes the game so great. For this to work, there would have to be an algorithm of what is acceptable and what is not - that gets pretty "big brother," which is bad in my opinion - and it will only make new players feel like they should never something in a certain way when there are cases that they might actually want to slot it up. As for advising if they've exceeded the Law of 5s, that it isn't entirely useful either - sometimes, you exceed on a set bonus because you're chasing that 5th or 6th bonus from another set and you just have to live that 1 or more wasted bonus.
  25. Congrats! Glad you were able to figure this out and are on your way. There are some other very useful tips and tricks posted from people in the Marketing section of this forum you may want to check out. Enjoy!
