Trophies and Base Trophy Rooms
Frozen Burn replied to Trauma Junkie's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Back on live, things were "unlocked" by SG badges and prestige earned. This again opens a whole can of worms and heated debate that it would be nice to avoid. So... no to unlocking... but YES to adding in more items as trophies. Then the player can add them in one by one as they complete their own things. Complete the Hess TF? Add in a mekman robot to your trophy room. Complete Pandora's Box SSA? Add in that broken Jaeger bot. And etc, etc, etc.... -
Some story arcs can be more XP per minute cycling through the missions than if you stay in and defeat all, because of the large XP missions award bonus. Not all arcs are like this. A bunch of small maps of defeat alls will reward more XP than clearing one large map because of the mission completion bonuses. And not everyone can sit at their computer for 6-7 hours, so in the 1-3 hours they have, they may look for a more efficient way to get the maximum XP they can (outside of farming or being PL'd in AE). For example: Let's say there are 500 foes in a single large map - it takes you 1 hour to clear all 500 and you get 1 big mission completion bonus. Or you can do 5 smaller missions with 100 foes in them each (so 500 total foes defeated) and in roughly the same 1 hour, but you get 5 big mission completion bonuses, instead of just 1. This is more efficient XP/hour and people with limited playing time tend to gravitate towards this. What you're doing isn't wrong, and what they do isn't wrong either. You have to balance it out determined on the arc you are running. And as a team leader you have to communicate what you're doing - staying in and defeating all or cycling through to leverage the large completion bonuses.
-
This is wrong. The Exit button doesn't appear until the MAIN or final objective is clear. Many missions have multiple objectives and the button doesn't appear until the last one is completed. And some missions have several "optional" objectives that may or may not be cleared, but the button won't appear until the Main objective is completed. As for everything else you wrote - yes, it's a good rule of thumb to exit when your leader does, but many are used to quickly exiting and moving on. You/we are in the minority on this and you should communicate to your team that you will be staying in and defeating all/most. That will clear up any misconceptions. And any player that doesn't want to do that, will leave and you can replace them with someone who does want to do that. Additionally, many people prefer exiting and moving on to the next mission because they want the large XP bonus for mission completion. There are times where it is more efficient timewise and you can get more XP overall by knocking out a bunch of missions quickly for the large XP bonus, versus staying around and defeating all in every mission. It's arc dependent, but something to keep in mind.

Storm is good with anything. Earth, Grav, and Plant are all great primaries. But I love my Illusion/Storm the most of my Stormie controllers.

This is a fun combo to play. Combat Teleport is great - and so is Fold Space to bring them all to you and your AOEs! 😄 I am believer in always taking your T1& T2 primary and T1 Secondary for defiance - that's 3 attacks you can use while mezzed. Not many others feel the same, but having that T1 (Pistols in this case) has saved me often when no break free (or other mez prot) was available. Not many feel the same, but to each their own. I like Empty Clips and will use it in melee range capturing a slice of the pie around me. An AOE is an AOE. Sometimes, I'll port a few feet away to line it up too (while giving me a breather from melee attacks). I love Piercing Rounds and the damage, and use it plenty. I often get more than one foe with it. But whatever you do, hopefully the below build will give you some ideas on slotting. Johnnie Hertz - Blaster (DP-Sonic).mbd

I too am against this whole idea. The rates are low at vendors to encourage people to sell on the Auction House to keep the in-game economy alive. Yes, some items (salvage, recipes, enhs, insps, etc) are not in demand and go for very less than vendoring, but many things are in high demand and go for quite a lot. It is on the user to research which sells best where and to pull that item out of their "to vendor" list to store or market. There is no need to change the vendor values to accommodate mistakes or lazy / haphazard selling.

Clearly, you're not familiar with how a stock market works. As I mentioned early in this thread, what "Stocks" would you be buying / investing in? Shares of what in-game company? There is nothing like that so that would have to be created. But to what end? When you buy stocks, you are investing and hoping for a greater return on your investment (which you previously alluded to not wanting). Yes, with the stock market you may lose, but generally, you gain. But it's all based on speculation of the market and how well those companies do over time (which is not conducive to game play). Given all this of this also doesn't exist in game, it would be be impossible to recreate without massive coding with no big impact on gameplay. I think what you want is a simple slot machine - just a quick money sink with a small chance for a reward. Use an easy RNG to decide if you win or not. (Not a complicated system that would be a stock market.) And the slot machine idea has been brought up in numerous other threads with heated debate on legality, and the general consensus seems it will never be implemented.

Our SG base has storage racks near a crafting table and I frequently interact with it and my personal vault at the same time while I craft. I pull salvage from both places and drop into my inventory and craft away! It's easy and saves many back and forth trips to the racks. The interact radius for the racks and crafting tables are fairly big, so you can interact with 2, and three racks away. Maybe more, depending on how you set them up. Unless the old code gets rewritten - and it sounds like it's a nightmare of a job from reading other post - I don't think anything is gonna happen here. So, just put a crafting table in the middle of your racks and go to town crafting. 🙂

I love this power, but I don't use damage procs in it for the reason you've experienced - the hold doesn't last long enough. As a controller, I want my holds to, well, hold, and I leave the damage to others. But I can see for a a soloist why one would want to damage proc it. I just have a full set of superior Entomb in it - so, it has the +Absorb proc. Given my troller (Earth/Nature) is built to tank and engage 3-4 mobs at once, I like the additional Absorb I get from it, but I never pay attention to it beyond the initial cast.

The Freedom Phalanx: why the hatred?

The Freedom Phalanx: why the hatred?
Frozen Burn replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
He may have BO - which is something for an android - but he inherited the TF mess from Bastion. But also, Citadel could have improved it when he took it over - the lazy copycat. 😄 Oh, and Synapse TF is worse - and why is he all concerned about clockwork anyway? You'd think he'd be standing in Brix and running Manticore's TF to get revenge - er.... justice. The the vigilante Manticore - who I'm sure Blue Steel took a few classes from - could then stand in Skyway and deal with the Clockwork. Or... just give that God-awful clockwork TF to Blue Steel and give Manti a whole new one. -
The Freedom Phalanx: why the hatred?
Frozen Burn replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
Are you talking about hatred towards the in-game NPCs or the Developers (Actual people) who used the Phalanx as code names? I love the NPCs in game, their stories, etc. As for the actual people donning the Freedom Phalanx' monikers... I have no issue with them. No hatred here - even for Jack. While I may not agree with everything he did/spouted, I certainly don't hate him. And generally, most players (i know of) have no issues with any of the Phalanx Developers, except Jack - he does draw the most ire. But Posi was one of the best and most respected since Jack. Or... is your question about the in-game NPCs? People really hate them that much? Tough fights, sure - but what's not to love about that?! 😄 -
Hi and welcome to the game - or at least the forums! I'm not understanding your request. Masterminds are already Summoners / Conjurers. So, the AT is there.... it sounds like you just want a new type of "Powerset" that allows you to summon a variety of controller / epic pets found across all ATs. I don't think this will be possible - or at least take some heavy coding - given that controller and epic pets do not accept commands like MM henchmen. Also, not sure what you mean by combined "combined secondary sets" - what AT's secondaries? Armors, attacks, buff/debuffs, etc? And highly doubtful any would be combined into something new as there are balance issues to consider from set to set.

That is what the stock market is all about... investing to get a better return, and hope you don't lose. So, if you don't want a return on investment, and just want to give away your Inf... then that is just donating - a stock market is not what you're after. You're looking for in-game charities. Tons of newbie characters flood the streets... start sending your moolah to them. Or me - I'm not too proud or rich - I'll accept donations. 🙂
-
A stock market would require multiple in-game entities that have value that would go up or down depending on.... what??? And what would those in-game entities be? You want to invest in Crey Industries or Cage Consortium or maybe Total Praetorian News? And how would one get a return on investment or suffer a loss? The more supers they defeat the more Inf you get / the more of them we defeat the less inf we get? Seems rather defeatist and not worth it to me. I really see no practical implementation of this idea.

Blaster + Defender Blaster + Blaster Blaster + melee Blaster + anything Blaster + anything + anything ....can you tell - I'm always the Blaster! 😄 Seriously though, a Blaster + anything is great combo. But nothing beats just friend + friend or friends x3 as Oubliette stated above.

Adding more D-SYNC Enhancements to the game.
Frozen Burn replied to Mystoc's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It's not more utility. It's different set bonuses depending on what bonuses the supposed Heal/Range set would have - all for the same slotting. That is not power creep. Power creep would be wanting that Radiant Aura PBAOE heal to be able to accept range enhancements which would make the healing radius larger. -

Frozen Burn replied to Mystoc's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Wanting to add a heal/range set is not power creep. It's just trying to utilize what is already possible to enhance. Powers aren't changing. Just just being able to instead of 5 slotting a heal power with 4 Numis + 1 generic range IO with a set of 4 or 5 Heal/Range IOs instead. -
Adding more D-SYNC Enhancements to the game.
Frozen Burn replied to Mystoc's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Heal/Range is not niche, actually. It would greatly benefit many. It's just people don't know/realize they can put range in certain heal/absorb/regen powers, and since slotting is tight, they don't. But all of these heal/absorb/regen powers can take range and would benefit from such a Heal/Range set: Cold Domination - Frostwork Dark Miasma - Twilight Grasp Electrical Affinity - Rejuvenating Circuit Electrical Affinity - Insulating Circuit Empathy - Heal Other Empathy - Absorb Pain Empathy - Adrenaline Boost Kinetics - Transfusion Marine Affinity - Soothing Wave Marine Affinity - Barrier Reef Nature - Regrowth Nature - Lifegiving Spores Nature - Rebirth Pain Domination - Soothe Pain Domination - Share Pain Pain Domination - Pain Bringer Poison - Alkaloid Storm Summoning - O2 Boost Thermal Radiation - Cauterize These are just Def / Corr Sets and there are probably more sets and powers out there that could benefit from a Heal Set with Range in it. So, this request or need isn't niche. I would greatly love a Heal set with Range in it. -
How do you feel about 'lone wolfing'?
Frozen Burn replied to Story Archer's topic in General Discussion
To me, lone-wolfing is fine provided it doesn't take away from the team experience and what you are collectively doing together - you should be adding to or enhancing, but not taking away. Case in point - AV fights: it is really rude and an a**holish thing to race to the end of a map to solo or duo an AV at the end of TF or mission instead of letting the team catch up and enjoy the experience too. Another.... on defeat alls/mosts... racing ahead to click the glowie and end the mission early... just, no. Things like that shouldn't happen. But soloing a neighboring mob or clearing another side of the map - dividing and conquering as a team is fine and great. -
(When I went to save my post above, nothing happened. So I clicked "Save" a few times. Still nothing happened. I copied my text, and refreshed the screen, and redid my post and it saved right away. But now, there are like 4 duplicate posts! Ugh. Unfortunately, there is no "Delete" so I clicked "Hide" on the others, but I do not know if that just hides it for me or for everyone. I hope they are hidden from all so you all don't see 4 long posts. Sorry, if you do.) 😕

It is never awkward to achieve these organically depending on how you play - heroside, that is - villainside it is not organic at all. But still, every single one of my characters get all 4 - even villains (they may switch to rogue and do hero content to get most or all of them and then switch back to Vill). So, speaking of heroside only.... Typically, the only out of the ordinary things you need to do is collect explores and history plaques. But even that can be organic as you run around the city and zones as you go from mission to mission or just explore. Some of the defeat badges, you may have to go out of your way to finish them up, but there is also content you can do to get them easily - just work it into the content you're doing. Outside of explores and plaques, just work into your play.... For Atlas Medallion Do a Moonfire TF with 8 people or set to x8 (you'll get most, if not all, of your wolves and vamps for the defeat badges - any remaining ones can be easily hunted right there in Striga). Rescue the Fortune Teller (through Ouro, if you did not do the content naturally leveling up through Steel Canyon) - easy to solo and you'll get the mission badge For Task Force Commander Easiest to get organically out of all of them - just run the first 6 TFs hero-side... Posi through Numi. (This is actually easiest to get Villainside with a lvl 50 who can access all the Mayhem Missions from a single contact - just collect the explores in them and you get the accolade (usually within 15-20 mins). While quicker, you don't get all the juicy reward merits, xp, and inf like you do from running TFs - it's even better when those TFs are the WST!) For Freedom Phalanx If you did TF Commander, you'll probably already have the defeat badge for Clockwork Gears and Freakshow Tanks - easily hunted for any few missing Getting the Fake Nem Badge can be easily gotten organically through lvl 40+ nemesis content (Fake Nems do not spawn lower than lvl 40) Maxwell Christopher arc Dr Q TF Last arc in Pandora's Box signature series (contact is the Jaeger in Steel Canyon) - most will farm the first mission (27-33 per run, so 3-4 times is needed). If you run the arc, you'll get most of them and only need to run the first mish again, or get the Fakes through other means (There are lots of Fakes hanging out in the Shadow Shard zones and you can most easily hunt them there - but street sweeping isn't organic - but listing here anyway just for reference) Portal Jockey If you run content from Tina MacIntyre and Maria Jenkins, you'll get the badges and accolade. Tina Mac has: 3 of the needed Praet AV defeats: Anti-Matter, Synapse, Marauder Mission for the Multidimensional Explore badge (can also be gotten through Ouro) Maria Jenkins has: All of Praet AVs except Anti-Matter Mission for the Shrouded explore badge (can also be gotten through Ouro) You can also get all the Praet AVs by running all the Incarnate Trials - and then you'd just need the explore badge missions through Ouro (as noted above) Work this content into your heroside play, and you'll easily get your 4 passives. 🙂

Best Non-Blaster ranged for fast moving teams
Frozen Burn replied to MeanieDaPooh's topic in General Discussion
Most Non-blaster ranged ATs mostly have buff/debuffs: Defenders, Corrupters, Controllers, MMs. You could try a Dominator - they play similarly to a blaster, but utilizes controls with damage. You could also try a Fortunata or an ranged Arachnos soldier Maybe a ranged-only Peacebringer or Warshade -
My Excel Workbook may make people's head explode. 😄 Here are pics of most of my sheets.... TF/SF/Trial Tracker along with tracking incarnate tiers. List of WSTs... Toons that need Villain Epics unlocked - so I can quickly switch when I see that announcement in LFG! Non-Passive Accolade Tracker (All my toons get the passives, so no need to track except Dimensional Warder - see next). Dimensional Warder / Praet AV Tracker with List of alts with saved missions... Toon Needs and those who store things (like IO types, catalysts, Boosters, etc)... HP Caps! (I can never remember them.) MoM Nightmare Checklist.... Day Jobs.... Praetorian Arcs - Use this for deciding how I want to play my toon, when to switch between Loyalist / Resistance (or not at all), etc.... Praetorian Arcs / iTrials (Primal) Timeline - not complete, but mostly use for the lvl 40+ content timeline so I can play them in order. Alpha Chart - SO useful for picking Alphas - YES, THERE ARE SOMETIMES BETTER OPTIONS THAN MUSCULATURE! 😛 Lore Buff Pets and What They Can Do For Me! Ouro Badge Checklist - needs updating, but my main badger has all of them already, so not in a rush to fix it. I have some other sheets in the workbook for random things I work on related to COX, but no one else would find useful in anyway. 🙂

Ah. Cool. Thanks.
