  1. Looked over this thread a few times - what are the actual nerfs or changes that the OP is upset about?
  2. Just go to another trainer if it's that big of a deal for you or your character's backstory - Kings Row is kind of the hard-edged/gritty 80s/90s zone... TBH, Ms. Liberty and her Longbow's illegal invasion of a sovereign nation is more concerning, IMHO, and given that our characters can initiate violence against NPCs that are just sitting around, the police and any opinions you may have about them, are the least of my worries...
  3. I knew should have included the winky face emoji in that one...
  4. Ooh! And have the wolves' howl and pack mentality buffs affect other warriors!
  5. Sure, I could see a member of the warriors having a wolf or trained lion. Heck, give 'em the hawk, too!
  6. Scrappers can get Shadow Meld in Soul Mastery, which comes earlier than HOB in my proposed set, so a self +DEF is not without precedent. Yes, this would also deal damage as well, but all the various damage/buff/recharge values could easily be adjusted as needed.
  7. Like similar powers when ported to APPs/PPPs, the recharge time and other such damage/buff values would be adjusted when compared to the base version.
  8. Very few of my friends played CoH back in the day, so whenever we were looking for a setting to play TTRPGs in, it was either some other IP or a generic setting. Especially if you aren't going to really explore the entire breadth of the CoH setting, and early-on in the campaign, you'll basically be up against the likes of the Hellions or Skulls, which are pretty generic low-level gangs with a magical flair. Trying to delve into things like Superadine or Excelsior for the Trolls or Freakshow, or even larger-scope lore topics like the Well of the Furies may just bog down the already slower pace of a TTRPG. Don't get me wrong - I love CoH and its setting - I just don't think it'd translate well to a PnP RPG that only meets like once or a few times a week for a couple hours...
  9. Is your character literally singing, though, or are they simply causing the various musical effects to occur? If you wanted to get more specific, a tech-origin character could have devices produce the songs, a magical one could call upon spirits to produce the effects, a mutant one could possess multiple mouths, a science origin could have some kind of specialized serum that allows them to generate multiple soundwaves at once, and a natural-origin character could simply be a 1-man band... This is a much more valid critique, IMHO - Either the toggles could be adjusted to account for this, or one simply needs to prioritize which toggles to run and when...
  10. Could you elaborate upon what the specific bonuses would be from this 'charm' buff/effect? Would it be per-power or is it a general buff of some kind? EDIT: I re-read the OP and it seems it would be per-power. Cheers!
  11. APPs can be ranged for melee ATs.
  12. But the wiki says "Peacebringers are formed from the fusion of an alien energy being called a Kheldian and a willing host."
  13. I thought there were people advertising that they'd make a simple base for you for some in-game inf. No need to destroy their business... 😉
  14. No doubt, but I think a reliable "build resource - consume resource" mechanic is pretty well-tested at this point, (see water blast's 'tidal power' or street justice's combo system)...
  15. Well, I can get behind radiation melee attacks applying the contaminated effect reliably, sure. Radiation siphon consuming or otherwise relying upon said contaminated effect can remain as-is...
  16. Beyond the animation issues discussed earlier in this thread, I wish the set's siphon ability worked as reliably as savage melee's "blood frenzy" mechanic...
  17. So in a comic book setting, (or any sci-fi/fantasy one, for that matter), the concept of an "energy being" that is incorporeal isn't that far out there. That being said, a Kheldian's ability to traverse interstellar distances is kind of handwaved away, as in-game they don't exhibit that level of power. Moving past that, it can basically be boiled down to 2 categories, (with a further subdivision of the 2nd). Those being: Did the Kheldian join with their host willing or unwillingly? If willing, then they become a Peacebringer. If unwilling, they start off as a Nictus. Now, players cannot be Nictus, instead they can play as a "reformed Nictus", henceforth referred to as a "Warshade'. The "forms" you mentioned, ("squid" or "lobster", "Nova" or "Dwarf"), are merely memories or afterimages of previous hosts that the Kheldian can also assume with their current host. Theoretically, it wouldn't be impossible for a Kheldian to have merged with other such aliens in the past to assume their forms, but that isn't available in-game.
  18. I view them as a sort of "echo of reality" - not exactly a sentient entity or them being brought back from the dead, but sort of an image, illusion, or memory made real, if that makes sense...
  19. I don't think the OP has replied at all, have they? Makes me wonder how many such posters are just trying to "stir the pot", so to speak...
  20. I would like some visual directional indicators for glowies, (if for no other reason than if you are hearing impaired)...
  21. IMHO, these debuffs shouldn't be looked at in a vacuum; The question is whether those debuffs contribute to the overall goal of keeping you alive and defeating your opponents. The hard part, here, is determining just how much of those goals they actually help with. Frankly, I select sets based upon what fits a particular character's theme/concept or what about teh set as a whole interests me in playing it...
  22. The thing is, mission objectives *should* be a bit hazy, if there's a good in-universe reason for it - like a contact that doesn't have all the information on the enemy they're sending you against, or enemies that change their objectives "on the fly". What they should do, however, is to increase the mission rewards for each "curveball" they throw at you...
  23. The "blue pancake cave" notwithstanding, most missions are actually quite straightforward - Kill all, Kill named boss & surrounding group(s), collect X glowies, escort an NPC out. Yeah - this ain't a "Next-Gen" game, but if you're here for that, then you're doing something wrong. In general, could things like finding glowies use some TLC? Of course, but I don't think your suggestions are the best way to go about doing that...
