You slot 1 pet power and that benefits all pets in that tier, not to mention the multiple attacks they get. The upgrade powers, similarly - only require you slot them once, yet ALL your pets benefit from them. Imagine if you had to slot each and every separate attack your pets get, like you have to for a VEAT's Nova or Dwarf powers...

And heaven forbid you get into one of those "limbo states", where you've accidentally clicked and the icon just kind of vanishes or becomes an hourglass for a few moments, before eventually coming back...

Or just roll a "Crabbermind"...

Would it have been better or worse if that was an embalmed abomination, (or maybe this is how they get embalmed...)?

Can somebody tell me what this effect is on this character?
biostem replied to RikOz's topic in General Discussion
Really wish you'd have included your status bar area - would have had icons about all the active effects on you. -
Not specifically - I was thinking more about just using one of the general dynamics robots or something. You'd still have someone performing the lines and directing the action, etc...

You already have options, like radio missions. The problem is that CoH is *not* a modern game - and that's why many of us love it! I do not want CoH to be transformed into a "modern game", and while I can appreciate your desire to have the game respect our time better, at the same time, that is something wholly in our control - don't run content you don't like. From my perspective, it isn't even about how long or short, or however many zones the mission/arc sends us - it's about who I am running such content with. When you get a good group of people together, and people are chatting it up and having a good time, the particular mission almost becomes irrelevant...

Love the designs, but I gotta say the bits of gold & blue/turquoise in the first set you posted really screams "Egyptian" more to me. the latter set seems more like an "ascended" or just a more modern take on the character...

Somehow managing to convince the people in City Hall that she'd make a good hero, this little kobold now operates under the moniker "The Cute 'lil Cutter":

Well, I was more thinking how some PvP puzzle games are handled, where you don't/can't directly attack the opposing player(s). Instead, your actions may spawn more NPCs or environmental hazards or the like, that the other team has to deal with...

There are powers that can be anchored to a friendly target, such as disruption field; It's a very deliberate design decision to have limited other such debuffs to enemy-only, and that is, IMO, factored into the values and other such aspects of the powers. What would you be willing to give up, in exchange for the increased flexibility of being able to place the buffs on your allies, (especially for Ats that have their own pets). I would very much like to see this form of "indirect PvP", especially since it wouldn't require players focus so specifically on a PvP build, while still fostering competition.

I wonder if they could pull off Short Circuit, but use actual robots, (and not just ones that are remotely controlled)...

Captain America: Brave New World
biostem replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
IMHO, it started around phase three. Which movies from the first 2 phases do you think weren't good? Thor the Dark World jumps out as the worst of the bunch, but compared to films in the later phases? They're still better overall... -
Universally? No. If they are targetable and have specific names, then use targetcustomnext or something similar. I suppose if you knew *all* the possible glowie names, you could include all of them in one bind...

Captain America: Brave New World
biostem replied to Excraft's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Some of us just remember how good previous MCU films were, and at substantially lower expense. We can also notice how the writing and FX of the last few films are not up to par with, again, what they were able to accomplish with smaller budgets, (even accounting for inflation), so the question remains - where is the money going? I don't care from a "you're spending our money" standpoint, but rather from a "I know you can do better" one. Either way, if a trailer doesn't sell me on a film, I'm not going to pay to go see it... simple as! -
Why is the "Spring Fling" hosted during the Winter?
biostem replied to Echo Night's topic in General Discussion
I know it's not quite the same thing, but fight some of the updated Council to get your "Freem Fix"... -
It's not about whether environmental damage steals XP or not - it's about whether the effort to gather the enemies around said environmental hazards results in a significantly greater defeat rate, thereby raising the XP/hr. If it does, then by all means, go for it! If not, then carry on as normal, I suppose...

Also, IIRC, Disney didn't make the toys in-house, so they're either splitting the profits with the toy company or are just collecting a licensing fee. It's also important to note that, speaking very generally here, it is the follow-up movie that reflects whether the audience enjoyed the initial film or not; TFA had the benefit of being the first film in a while, so there was a huge amount of hype. TLJ built off of TFA's success, but it also became a focal point for those who thought TFA was just a rehash of ANH and not liking the direction Johnson took the saga. ROS had to attempt to undo/retcon or otherwise account for the drastic change in direction TLJ took, and changing back to Abrams, and wasn't as well-regarded. Either way, I think we can all agree that had the drop-off between each subsequent movie in the trilogy not been as severe, and had the movies been truly planned to progress the story better from the outset, not to mention having more general appeal/faithfulness to the OT, they probably would have performed better at the box office.

And if they do create that "too close" copy of any character in-game, I'll be right there with you, rooting for them to be generic'd. Until such time, I see no issue asking how to create any character in-game. We aren't in grade school here - the time to act is when a rule is violated, and not a moment sooner, and we certainly won't get anywhere assuming every poster does so with bad intentions...

As the saying goes "there is nothing new under the sun" - If you provide us with a character, I'm almost 100% certain we can find some other character in fiction/comics/fantasy/sci-fi that came before, and is a very close match to them. My point is, you may not view something as original, (or "original enough"), but that doesn't mean it is actually a copy or infringing. Again, let them create their characters and arc(s), and then the devs/mods/GMs can rule on them if and when needed...

The only difference is that those conversations took place decades ago, behind closed doors. My point is that we should be focusing on what the OP, (or any other player, for that matter), does with the information provided. If they do the boring thing and just do 1:1 copies, then that's on them and they should be genericed and possibly banned, but if they use that information as a jumping-off point to create their own faction and characters, (though still inspired by the BoEM), then there's zero issues...
-
I'm pretty sure that was the OP's intent all along...

Thematically, the 2 sets fit, but having played one back on live, I never really felt like /traps contributed as much as other possible secondary choices. I do like acid mortar, but found ffg, (even with it's higher base def value), too fragile to be relied upon, and having to be recast quite often. The other powers... just really didn't stand out for me, (though you can place some nice procs in caltrops).

I'd say it's more like a custom mantle than a full shoulder or chest piece.
