  1. I'm really liking this particular combination, but here's something "darker" - "Drowned in Sorrow":
  2. Combining elements from my last few costumes, I present "The Darkest Alabaster":
  3. It is a fairly trivial matter to get a character to 50 - if your namesake character is that important to you, get them to 50 and any concern will fade away...
  4. It may seem counterintuitive, but staff fighting has some flashy moves that could kind of be interpreted as "I can swing this around like I do because of my super speed"...
  5. Because the hooved feet use the character's skin color, it is difficult to match it to pants very well; It would be great if there was an option to apply a color to them like you would any other leg options...
  6. It was originally stalkers-only, (in a slightly different form), but was propagated to sentinels and scrappers either in the SCORE days or when HC took over/was made public...,
  7. Love this one, especially how you managed to use that Roman-esque chest piece, yet not look like your typical "I'm wearing Roman armor" character!
  8. Maybe they could do something like if you do not defeat any civilians from levels 1-10, you get badge A, from 11-20, badge B, and so on; So you may miss one particular level range's badge, but can still work toward the next level range's...
  9. Decided to pay KREA another visit, and was really impressed with how this one turned out:
  10. I can't decide if this is innovative or cliche... "Ideal Destruction":
  11. Say what now???
  12. If you want to try something different, give war mace, battle axe, titan weapon, and/or katana a try with the ninjitsu secondary set - it's actually a fairly new armor set for scrappers, and has some great utility, not to mention a sort of "lite" version of a stalker's hide ability. If you want something a bit tankier, give savage melee/radiation armor a try - it's a very tough and highly sustainable/self-sufficient combination. If you are up for a somewhat different experience, (namely, one that requires a bit more attention to play), try dark melee/shield defense. It's a bit more end-intensive, but you have a ton of tools to draw upon and the tohit debuffs stack nicely with shield's defense.
  13. I think a lot of it comes down to "team flow" - if people are defeating mobs swiftly and working together effectively, those enemies will be defeated in short order and you'll be onto the next mission before you know it. In my experience, problems only arise when everyone leaves, save for 1 or 2 people holding up the group, or if the team as a whole is struggling with the current number of enemies or their level. Honestly, just please speak up if you're on a team and aren't sure how to proceed...
  14. Huh? I use the different ammo types, and not just fire. Still, the great thing is you can stick to what you like, and others would have options. Further, it is possible this hypothetical set could tweak the effects to be more balanced and/or to provide variable effects...
  15. Please, drop the notion of retrofitting an existing set. I, at least at this point, am talking about wholly new sets. Yes, they may use existing animations, but that's about it...
  16. Well, I think we're talking about hypothetical new sets, here, (at least, at this point, I am), not retrofitting existing ones. Still, I get your point, but that's the great thing about having options...
  17. Well, given the comic book setting CoH takes place in, I don't think things need to be treated so realistically - a minimum height and body scale character can wield a titan weapon just as well as the largest character can, not to mention that said giant weapon can be anything from an actual sword to a rail road crossing sign, yet still be just as effective. Some sort of "variable weapon" is not so far fetched...
  18. Or maybe just a temp power that gives your character a Groucho Marx glasses & nose, or something. I don't think I can get behind a "I'm going as myself" costume. Maybe a torso/chest piece that is a simple t-shirt that says "I'm just here for the boos" or some other cliche phrase...
  19. Umm... ok. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  20. Personally, I think you're fine. TBH, I much prefer storm cell to the frustratingly limited combo system of dual blades. Regardless, give seismic blast a try, (if you haven't already), and i very much like how the HC devs kind of experimented with sentinel SR...
  21. What's interesting is they kind of did an end-run around this by giving sets like martial assault "envenomed blades" or stone armor, "brimstone armor" for scrappers/sentinels/stalkers, which adds extra elemental damage. I agree that existing melee sets shouldn't have this function shoehorned into them, but I wonder if some hypothetical new armor set include such a mechanic, (for instance, imagine a "storm armor" set with a toggle that caused you to deal extra energy or cold damage)...
  22. Well, do you consider "some powers build up a resource and others consume it for additional effects", a "hokey gimmick"? That's pretty much the case with most of the sets, even those released later on in CoH's run while it was still live. Since Sentinels were, AFAIK, only added in the SCORE days, do they count? Seismic and water blast are pretty good. I've only played marine a little, but from what I've experienced, it's quite good. I can't speak to arsenal control or assault...
  23. I hear the anti-vamp party is gaining ground...
  24. We're also *not* talking about a modern game, where there could be an extensive load time between logging out then back in...
  25. It may be because you need to direct them WHERE to go. Still, some commands don't work correctly in macros or binds, (i.e. the pet emote command only works in macros, IIRC).
