  1. It's not so much about "stuff is being copied", it's about some weird "out there" reason that could cause other complications, (again, only from my admittedly limited understanding of things), like HC receiving a cease & desist or some other oddity...
  2. From my understanding, it has more to do with "hey you copied our stuff" and any potential ramifications that may entail, than not wanting to implement what is or is not a good idea...
  3. I am not using them BECAUSE they were not implemented in a way that works with anything else. If they were, then I probably would. They should not have been added as separate pieces because they do not fit with anything else.
  4. You're asking the wrong question; Why would the developer add costume options that don't fit with each other, when they are supposed to be generic enough to fit with a wide variety of pieces, (because asking for total universality isn't possible).
  5. Aren't the options under a particular category supposed to be interchangeable, though? I do not think it's intended that costume parts should only look good/correct when used with other parts of the same set...
  6. For some people, heroics or villainy are a way of life, demanding total dedication. For others, who are looking for an exciting job with flexible hours and good pay.... Join "Cast 'n Blast" Inc!
  7. Don't you fight Black Scorpion on that map at the end of his first Patron arc?
  8. I keep revisiting energy blast hoping to find some eloquent solution to the KB. Telling people they can take a power from the teleport pool, which requires 2 prerequisite powers, is not this. IO set bonuses would be one way to address the loss of a more useful 6th slot instead of the KB->KD IO. Either way, I'm not going to bother quoting quotes of prior quotes. Do what you like, but I'm not going to bother responding on this any further.
  9. You seem to be implying, from the above quotes, that fold space is a better or more preferable alternative to introducing an IO set with a set bonus that converts KB->KD.
  10. People will always complain, but people complaining is not grounds to *not* do something. What I'm having difficulty in understanding is how providing a KB->KD set bonus is worse than advising people to just take another power, (one that, should be pointed out, requires 2 other TP powers to take).
  11. So you shoot down my suggestion of an IO set with a bonus being KB->KD, but are in favor of taking a completely separate power to re-group those knocked-back enemies? This doesn't track...
  12. It is literally impossible to make an effect that scatters enemies "more appealing", when keeping them all nicely clumped together is preferable, (short of having any KB effect 1-shot enemies).
  13. Kind of a "side suggestion" - what if they added a few IO sets, (ranged, AoE, melee, melee AoE, or a universal damage set), that instead of having a special IO that changed KB to KD, it had decent set bonuses, with one of those being the conversion of KB->KD, (maybe from only slotting 2 or 3)?
  14. It isn't "necessary" to slot acc or damage, either, but it's sure nice to do so...
  15. I'm on the fence about these kinds of mechanics; What's the point of me selecting an AT, primary, secondary, pools, etc, if what really matters is that I move out of a red splotch or attack some random object, (possibly only during a "vulnerable period")? Additionally, if said mechanics favor, say, control effects to prevent some big attack that can 1-shot the team, then it skews things further. Ideally, there should be a multitude of ways to approach any encounter, and they should all be equally viable...
  16. Either way, (and obviously I can't speak for the dev/mod team or the particular person I quoted), but if I were in their shoes, I would not want to give someone my "blessing" who has no track record, seemingly just joined the game, and with no way for said dev/mod team to cut them off, should they do *anything* to cast a negative light on HC in such a public way; I'm not saying they'd actually do this, but what if, while streaming, that person starts spouting slurs or something? Seems like a lot of risk with virtually no reward...
  17. Are you expecting some sort of financial sponsorship from HC? I cannot see the mods/devs officially endorsing a random player...
  18. Oh no doubt, and I am loving Creature Commandos. I just don't want expediency to overtake good quality writing and presentations, etc...
  19. Can... can I just get a version of energy blast w/o the KB in every attack? Elec is ok, but it's not the same, and I don't wanna play a WS to get a janky version of the blasts. Heck, I'd even settle for being able to use the energy blast animations on other blast sets, at this point...
  20. How about a /ninjitsu scrapper? You get the best of both worlds, (and a superior version of ninjitsu, IMO). You can be sneaky, but also good in a stand-up fight, (better, again, IMHO)...
  21. I think it sparks an interesting thought experiment as well - is a character's "origin" even worth mentioning if how they function in the now is based upon something else? When Stark lost access to his armor and operated as "The Mechanic", where he had to use his wits and intellect instead of relying on his armor? Heck, you could argue that Dr. Strange had to rely more on his own intelligence and perseverance in order to even get into the mindset where he could accept that magic was real and start to learn, (or maybe he would have taken to it faster if he weren't so smart/set in his ways)...
  22. Gone to the Americans or /jranger?
  23. I would say that, beyond the general "player fiat" type of declaration, that it depends upon how much "skill" is required to use that tech. For instance, Iron Man is tech not just because it's a suit of powered armor, but also because Stark can't really do much (combat-wise) without said technology, whereas someone like the Winter Soldier was a capable fighter before his augmentations, and it doesn't really matter what weapons he uses. Similarly, Batman, while indeed utilizing a dizzying array of gadgets, still requires a lot of skill and training (natural ability) to do so. I mean, in Iron Man 3, Pepper had the Extremis implant applied to her and suddenly became a good fighter, and in End Game, she had her Rescue suit, and I'm pretty sure she neither developed nor had extensive training. Heck, Rhoadie in Iron Man 2, had, AFAIK, zero practice with the suit but was able to pick things up rather quickly. I suppose, in short, it's a very flexible definition. Heck, I've used natural origin for "digital beings" because their abilities are inherent to what sort of entity they are. Even a robot could conceivably be "natural", since, from their perspective, their training and abilities are the result of the form they exist in. Now, if that very same robot built all sorts of augmentations for themselves, or were otherwise provided with such accessories, then I'd say they were "technology" in origin...
  24. IIRC, KB powers include some distance calculation as to just how far they knock the target back, so why not utilize that to determine how much additional damage is dealt?
  25. Counter proposal; All powers used by everybody across all servers knock back whatever character @Snarky is playing, (with those KBs queued up in the event that he's not logged in at the time).
