  2. While not a perfect solution, selecting something like "crystal minimal", along with darker colors, is at least less obtrusive. That being said, I would like a truly minimal or "No FX" option as well...
  3. "The Inhibitor" is an archetype focused on directing enemy aggro via control effects. Basically, think of them as a tank that generates and handles aggro through the use of control powers. Their primaries would draw from the existing armor sets, but their secondaries would consist of highly modified melee power sets with a focus on applying or taking advantage of various control effects. This archetype's special effect/ability would be "antagonize"; For the duration of any control effect (applied by the Inhibitor), that enemy is taunted toward the caster and suffers both a defense and resistance debuff, due to them not being able to pay as much attention to attacks directed at them from other sources. The duration of these control effects would be shorter than their similar control powers, but generally the recharge times on these powers would be shorter, (to encourage a more active playstyle instead of simply applying an AoE and just sitting back to allow the inherent do all the work). I imagine the armor values being lower than that of tankers, but higher than scrappers. Similarly, the control durations would be shorter than that of controllers, and their damage would be similar to that of tankers. Adapting sets that have both a control and melee set should be fairly easy, (like electric control and electric melee), with outliers requiring a bit more creativity, (like illusion or gravity control not having a 1:1 melee equivalent). Similarly, I'm on the fence about whether to carry over taunt, or to replace it with a ranged control power and adding in the -range component...
  4. Sure, but the question is whether their blasts provide enough additional DPS or utility vs what a controller's primary set has to offer...

How about an event where some "bizarro" copy of a zone appeared, (optional to enter, of course), where player characters are basically turned into plain old civilians, and have to try to get the attention of passing heroes, to save their purses from mean old Hellions and Skulls? All your powers get replaced with "call for help" and "hold purse really really tightly"...
  6. I would never want to force the loss of travel powers on anybody, at least not in the main game world. Rather, an instanced event, maybe something like a giant hedge maze, could work...
  7. Another idea could be to make level 1-20 IOs automatically attuned to the character, so they grow as that character does...
  8. What if the base values of all IOs, (generic or set ones), never dropped below that of their level 20 or 25 equivalents?
  9. There are 2 versions of the, I think, imperial hat with hair; 1 where the hair color is fixed so you can apply 2 colors to the hat itself, and one where one of the hat colors is locked but you can change the hair color. Something like that could be done for the stocking cap...

  13. I can't imagine that they'd ever allow players to write in their own text to be associated with a temp power that granted an item with said text to other players. Maybe make use of the various titles we can select, along with badges, that character's origin, AT, and powersets...

  17. No offense, but if your computer gave you a BSOD, then everything is *not* ok with your PC. No one is saying YOU did anything, but there's probably something with your computer, (be it software or hardware), that caused that. Could you see if there was a recent restore point created as a result of a recent update somewhere? If so, maybe try rolling back to a point before you started noticing issues?
  18. Those are 2 games owned/operated/controlled by different companies, so they aren't going to simply apply CO's graphics to CoH. As @Grouchybeast mentioned, you can enable cel shading. The thing to keep in mind is that Homecoming is operated by a volunteer team and basically has no income, besides some basics just to keep the game running, and with the core game being 20+ years old at this point, a complete overhaul is unlikely. Maybe it's out of nostalgia, but I kind of like the graphics style, and I find working within those limitations to be an interesting test of your creativity/imagination...
  19. Then there's your answer. An official response is not in fact owed to every such request, (whether you or I think it warrants one). Sure it would be nice to have one whenever requested, but that's not how the real world works...
  20. Basic notes? About a topic that really doesn't come up all that often? "Basic notes" would be things like what kinds of behaviors warrant what kinds of corrective actions, not every policy or request that has been or may be implemented. Neither of us know their internal processes or workings, so maybe there is, in fact, a good reason as to why they couldn't provide a concrete answer immediately...
  21. And the issue only really came up like a day ago. You assume that they are aware of all policies at all times. Someone asked for something to be implemented, and within a few hours we got an official answer. Doesn't seem to bad to me from a volunteer staff.

  23. In a perfect world, sure. From a volunteer staff who are possibly in different time zones and have lives outside of HC, not so much. This isn't a full time professional staff that are only concerned with this game...
