  1. Not disagreeing with any specific proposal for field medic, but no pool power should ever be as strong as a comparable primary, secondary, or epic power. By design.
  2. I snagged Thundersteel for my new Elec/Shield scrapper about a week ago. Good Riot album. Felt like a generic enough name though I was a little surprised it was open on both torch and indom.
  3. Dude, people are literally asking why continuing to attack them is not banworthy harassment. Of course that’s what they’re suggesting. the confused emoji is cute, but if you would just read the thread...
  4. And IO’s.. and villains... the game wasn’t designed for much of the current meta at all, was it...
  5. The common/uncommon salvage problem reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry started to get carpal tunnel for trying to sign too many $0.12 checks. The loss is so microscopic that it’s simply preferable for many of us to just trash them right away.
  6. Serious question: can you name for me an MMO where you *would* expect to be left alone without fail the second you asked for it in a zone primarily intended for PvP? It just seems to me like you’re raging at the state of MMO PvP as it has always been and always will be, but you’re trying to make some small handful of CoH players out to be problems. Do you acknowledge that some of this is a how-online-gaming-fundamentally-works issue and not a toxic-CoH-players-are-evil issue?
  7. Also, the only way, logically, that afk farming is an “exploit” is if one of the three following things are an exploit (and I don’t believe any of the below has been confirmed as an exploit by the GM’s): 1) passive damage auras 2) defenses adequate enough that a player’s regen rate is adequate for survival 3) roaming mobs EDIT: I suppose you could also include auto-attacking and the power Burn amongst these. Either way, Lockpick, can you please identify the exploit you would like nerfed from these items?
  8. This was my thought when reading the OP, a new IO proc
  9. Since when are final powers in other pools considered all that good across the board though? Origin pools aside.
  10. These phrasings were not quite what I had in mind, but I do react differently to different badger attitudes as well. It tends to go one of two ways. If I do decide to hunt down a badger, it’d likely be because they made their case in a snarky, passive aggressive, condescending way. Or I didn’t see their request in the first place because what kind of masochist wants to be a part of RV broadcast chat.
  11. These measures punish far more than AFK farmers. Again, why? Personally, not only do I actively farm the content you are promoting nerfs for, but I even have a tendency to load up these types of missions up on non-farm characters for casual xp.
  12. Anyway, my only comment here is a +1 to please give us something not entirely useless after 99. Anything.
  13. Necessitating god knows how many additional hours of farming to achieve the exact same effect =/= making the game harder. At least not in a good or fun way. If incarnates are a problem, the problem is with the stats being too good, not the work being too easy.
  14. Zac, this thread is about what is allowable without being banned for harassment, not what is ideal behavior. You seem to be missing that.
  15. Jesus christ that is not what I meant. Now that you know better, please do not mischaracterize me again. What I meant is that any team of GM's worth anything would want to avoid subjecting their player base to excessive and frivolous banning. A player's ability to play the game should not be taken away lightly if the GM group in question is competent.
  16. In case you haven't realized yet, I have never /e slapped someone in my entire life. I'm not asking because I'm dying to harass people; I'm asking because I believe in allowing people some level of fundamental rights.
  17. Yeah... sorry... go ahead and just delete my off topic drivel.
  18. Well I don't feel like getting into an argument about what the entire case is, but surely these facts would come into play: (1) /e slap is a dev-created part of the game; (2) whether or not we agree on this one, we would likely agree that some bans somewhere are draconian; and (3) whether or not we agree on this one, we would likely agree that some things should be allowed whether we are asked to stop or not. In addition to the PvP example, for instance, we might be able to agree that the people in a recent thread that expressed annoyance at people spamming "LFT" in the LFG channel would have no case whether they asked those accused spammers to stop or not. I sincerely do not understand, in light of these facts, how we can act like the /e slap pandemic is an open-and-shut case of punishable harassment.
  19. Off-topic, for sure, but man would I love to hear a GM talk about how they would deal with a case like this. I think there should be limits of some kind in the sense that a player should not be able to follow and stalk another player for very long at all, but I sure hope all these complaints about emote usage on a person - maybe multiple usages but all at one time and place - don’t amount to the bans some people clearly want to see. Like, I just hope like hell for the sake of the human race that this whole phenomenon of wanting to ban pixel slappers at least comes with a few warnings first for the utterly harmless offender.
  20. Every MMO I've ever played has been the same as the CoH dynamic you seem to hate. Some sort of arena and some sort of pvp zone that you can either avoid or risk being killed in. The kind of game you seem to want to play is the kind I haven't seen yet. That being said I've only played 3 major MMO's so maybe someone else can comment here.
  21. People sometimes get likes or thanks here just for mocking people that others felt deserved it or wanted to join in on. So, yeah, these rankings tend to have zero value. I once surged to the number one spot for awhile on another forum's rep system many years ago. I cracked a lot of jokes, talked a lot of shit, and certainly would not have considered myself to be #1 in terms of kindness and helpfulness.
  22. Perhaps I’m just building tanks to have too much mitigation. I don’t have pleasant memories of tank damage post-buff, but it’s true that the tank in question had more mitigation than any brute would ever have.
  23. I see how you get more bonuses,, slots, etc and how tankers can do a fair bit to close the damage gap. What I don’t see is how you get enough to overpower brute damage at typical fury levels (75%+ or so?), and what I *really* don’t see is any data that is remotely adequate to conclude either (1) “brutes are useless” or (2) “more people play tankers than brutes in the endgame”. Also, I, for one, have never started a tanker build by making a brute build first. Seems like a strange way to do things. Then again I frequently forego traditional build wisdom, for instance by building like half my toons without even trying to get anywhere close to soft capped defense.
  24. Of course. Just thinking out loud since the GM’s have waded into political messaging like that discussed in some posts here in recent months.
