Only 3 LotG’s now cuz Sorcery, but hey, Sorcery made the build faster 🙂 But yes I completely agree in most cases. I tried that here though and it complicated the chain too much to have Moonbeam recharge any slower. So I kept the Crushing Impact and Decimation sets even though that’s rare for me.
-
On Tankers etc I definitely would slot more procs, but Dom secondaries can be super hungry for recharge.
-
Smite/Midnight Grasp/Gloom/Moonbeam are all 4 very good DPA powers. Unlike /Fire, /Dark can slot the +damage proc in a long recharge heavy hitter (Midnight Grasp) which is a nice selling point. I also wonder if the -tohit helps with pet uptime but evidence is shaky on that one. Oh and with how aggressive I made this build I probably would’ve been killed a couple of the rounds were it not for Life Drain 🙂 I needed a lot of recharge bonuses to keep the Moonbeams coming so my slotting is Smite 5 Crushing Impact / Glad Strike Proc Midnight Grasp 5 Hecatomb / Ascendency Proc Gloom 5 Decimation / Glad Jav Proc Moonbeam 5 Apocalypse / Glad Jav Proc All of the above except Moonbeam have the minimum possible recharge enhancement (whatever has recharge enhancement is attuned instead if boosted). Moonbeam needs the max recharge. Sorry for not having mids on my macbook 😞 I’ll screenshot the build later. But yeah like I said I made some hefty sacrifices. It’s kind of making me want to make this a multi-build character. Because that is not how aggressive and squishy I’d normally build it were I not trying to push a boundary here.

Five more runs on new build Dark/Dark/Ice Dom T4 Musc Core / Degen Core / Pyronic Core / Ageless Core / Assault Radial Still Had Offense, Defense, and Survival Amplifiers Ridiculous build I would not normally make. Traded nearly all my extra slotting in toggle end reduction/mitigation, and control slotting for both 6 slotted Spirit Ward and Enflame, as well as adding the 2 +pet resistance procs. Reliant on Ageless and so on. Examples of substantial sacrifices include: most of my toggles only being slotted with procs (LotG, other res/def/travel uniques); both AoE controls are just slotted with Cloud Senses and relying on Domination for potency; and I literally skipped Dark Grasp (1-slotted immobilize will be used on AV's). Haunt was still typically dead most of the time but could often take an extra hit. Umbra Beast (with Spirit Ward and more resistance) on the other hand would only die maybe once per run and late enough that I'd be able to immediately resummon. That being said... 1:23 1:19 1:40 1:30 1:28 Average 1:28 EDIT: @Voltak

I will try to work in a little testing without amplifiers here and there. I am doing some truly obscene things to this dominator build at the moment trying to see what I can do about the dead pets problem, while also getting greedy for a couple other things.
-
Yeah I guess I already have a few scrappers without taunt auras and they’re more or less fine…
-
No to resist IO’s, yes to Soulbound (though it’s in Haunt because that one needed more recharge enhancement and I think I want to move it to Umby) and yes to Ascendency -> Midnight Grasp. Want to add resist IO’s and Spirit Ward for next round. Considering the pets were dead half of the time or more, that’s what I want to focus on improving. Enflame if I can fit it but I highly doubt I can. I will consider deleting my amps for a test too if I’m in the mood to care about the difference 🙂
-
Think I want a /regen scrapper now because my brute has neither RoP nor (obviously) Shadow Meld. Curious how that would go - definitely seems like it would help me feel less like Barrier Core vs Ageless Radial is just too hard a choice on Regen. I would’ve made one already but admittedly all this talk lately about Scrappers with vs without taunt auras has been steering me away from playing some secondaries as Scrappers.
-
Well, still need to rebuild and try again, but here are your preliminary results with half dead pets (and amplifiers) added to your own test. Same attack chain as you (Gloom/Moonbeam/Smite/Midnight Grasp, rotate in Sleet and Gather Shadows). If I add Sorcery to this it better bring the average under 1:40.

Again Bill, nobody is saying Regen stands up well next to meta sets like Bio, Shield, EA, SR, Rad, etc. Well someone might be saying that but he’s wrong. What *I* am saying is that, with modest inspiration usage, the job. Gets. Done. (With ease). That’s all 🙂 And saying “well some sets don’t need inspirations” is irrelevant to me because I have zero problems with using inspirations and consider them an integral part of the game - and so my response to that is a resounding “k?”. We’ll agree to disagree here because you have a severe inspiration allergy. Ok, fine. I don’t feel the need to play set comparisons unless a set truly makes the game a slog. Sonic Blast or Kinetic Melee are a slog. I have never found Regen to play like a slog, since the only way an armor set truly fails is death - which will only happen in coincidence with severe inspiration allergies - aka not for me. But yes, obviously, let’s hurry up and add some of these debuff resistances and other modest buffs and such to Regen. I am all in favor of that. But I shouldn’t have to join the chorus of “lol regen sux” to advocate for minor common sense buffs.

Give Doms and Trollers pets at a lower level, say 12 or so

If the logic in this thread is of any value, we have a lot of reordering to do since apparently the best powers need to be accessed earliest in the design visions of a few here. Any form of delayed gratification is oppressive bullying, or something like that. EM needs ET at 1. Kin needs SB and FS by 2. All T9’s must be the set’s most suboptimal power. Let’s do it 🙄 -
Sigh, I was going to go with “save Sorcery builds for Controllers” but there was still so much pet downtime on my pylon tests, and I want to see that potential pet DPS. If pets were actually alive I’m sure I’d cross over into 500+ DPS. Looks like I have another respec to go before settling down. To find any more slots, I may have to do some wild stuff. Am I a kook for thinking about 1-slotting or even ditching Dark Grasp?
-
Unfortunately I haven’t tested for this. I know the extra recharge wasn’t necessary in this instance to maintain the attack chain, and the +15% damage couldn’t be adding more than, say, 15 DPS (thinking about base DPA before enhancement). What I don’t know is the effect of shaving that extra few seconds recharge off Sleet, Gather Shadows, and pets..

A few tests in, and, so far, the Dark/ does NOT contribute much DPS against a pylon because the pets die way too quickly. I tried to use Shadow Field to give the pets some extra protection but I'm still only getting one miss at a time, not consecutively - and each pet can only take two hits apparently. Now, if you had Spirit Ward, or were a Controller, I can see these pets doing a lot.

Fun fact: explaining what I mean by “*MODEST* inspiration usage” and then having someone else on the forum accurately represent my claim…. Has never happened before in history. While you’re musing about what’s helpful and what’s not… put hyperbole down in general. There is a world of difference between popping one purple or one green in a tough spot every few minutes in a completely sustainable and reliable way, …. and spamming multiple inspirations so much so that you have to purchase inspirations or email chain them. Anti-inspers that won’t acknowledge the difference won’t make any progress with me. Also keep in mind there are regen buffs that have been proposed that I have consistently advocated for and have zero problem with. Debuff resistances at the top of the list.

Yeah your limited grasp of English is making this tough, I agree. Like continuing to tell us feedback doesn’t count as feedback. I won’t pretend to understand your own private version of the dictionary. -
Garbage party for sure homie, but at least they’re not guilty of bringing up US politics in the Scrapper forum.

Nobody has to suffer in this game. It’s consistently easy if you but use the resources available. Some of us just don’t want the experience cheapened even further than it already is. -

Except nobody is doing that and he’s not the only one that can’t find a shred of consistency in battlewraith’s arguments. (I had to google the definition of brow beating to be sure, but yep no sign of that) -
I’m sure you can PM many of us if you need someone to play with 🙂
