  1. I looked through the patch notes, and the accompanying discussion thread, and couldn't find any official word on the motivation for the changes. Was there some specific problem that was occurring due to the Council being "weaker" than some other faction (I personally never noticed this alleged discrepancy)?
  2. This description is probably the best advertising I could ask for. 😄 Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
  3. I love this idea. Maybe even send new Kheld characters there for a specialized tutorial? I know the complexity of the class has always put me off...
  4. Say, does this "Council randomly turning into Werewolves" thing only happen at certain levels? Because I just took my lvl 33 Scrapper through Jose Escalante's Council arc, and I didn't see it happen once. The Galaxies weren't rezzing, either.
  5. I had only ever fought these guys with my lvl 50 Incarnate Brute. So as an experiment, I decided to try soloing them with my lvl 32 Martial Arts/Super Reflexes Scrapper (no temp powers, only common IOs except for a couple of procs in Health and Stamina, nothing but small Inspirations). I managed to fight 3 Crone Matriarchs and 1 Hollow Reaper before I got tired of door clicking (Got a boatload of costumes, though! Wish I could sell them...). On the Crone Matriarchs, I consistently could only get them down to about 1/2 health before I ran out of Insps and had to flee. I beat the Hollow Reaper, but just barely. We were both down to a sliver of health, I decided to take a chance, and was able to finish him. Are they too tough? I dunno, probably not. They seem to be about on par with some of the nastier EBs in the regular game. If I had done more prep (like loading up on large insps), I probably would've been fine.
  6. This Was Your Life...? ID: 64453 Architect Entertainment has announced that you can now use their holograms to re-live the events of your own past! Take a whirlwind tour of your favorite hero's triumphs and tragedies! (But be advised, there may still be a few bugs in the system...) Length: Very Long Morality: Heroic Level Range: Starts out 1-10, then gradually ramps up to 40-54 for the final mission. Two missions contain Archvillains, but you get (optional) helpers. One mission is Defeat All, but it's a small-ish bank map. Kind of meta and a little bit goofy, but hopefully has some fun surprises along the way. Enjoy!
  7. The PvP zones are also a convenient place to hunt for certain mobs if you're trying to get the defeat badges. I think Bloody Bay is the only place you can find Shivans just hangin' around in the open world, for instance.
  8. Amen. There is literally no incentive the devs could offer, short of maybe real-life cash, that would make me want to lead a team. And believe me, that's for the best.
  9. One is a symptom of the other. If they spread the spawn points out a bit, that would solve both the "long, empty stretches" issue and the "clumping at intersections" issue. Now, I have no idea how difficult this would be ("Standard Code Rant applies", as they used to say back on live). If it would be some huge undertaking, then no, probably not worth the devs' time. But if it's just a matter of going into some spreadsheet and moving some values around, then it'd be a nice little Quality of Life adjustment.
  10. Admittedly, it's more of a minor annoyance than a major concern. Still, the difficulty settings ought to do what they say, no? If you want double-size spawns, you have that option, and more power to you. If not, the maps shouldn't take it upon themselves to double up the enemies for you. Otherwise, what's the point of having difficulty settings in the first place?
  11. Agreed, that's pretty aggravating. Is this a new thing? I swear, I don't remember it being such an issue until recently. I can't say that I've noticed this, but I'm usually running at x1, so it's probably less obvious...
  12. That does seem a little sus. I was solo ToTing and got the 10 and 25 badges within an hour or two.
  13. Alas, not everyone is as sanguine (no pun intended) about bad PUGs as you are, Snarks. 😉
  14. Me, getting ready to fight Silver Mantis...
  15. I'll admit, one of the reasons I don't team very often (besides just being kinda anti-social) is the fear that I'm going to screw things up for everyone else with my general ineptitude.
  16. Keep your filthy paws off my Inspirations. Some of us need all the help we can get.
  17. You gotta wonder: If PvP is so fun, why do devs have to go to such great lengths to trick/coerce players into doing it?
  18. Same. The difficulty in these large group activities tends to be very binary. Either you're an expert, or you're a liability. The learning curve is a vertical line. 😛
  19. I know, I know, it's kind of a jerk move, but like I said...best I can do. I try to be a good sport, and I'm perfectly willing to let someone score a victory (which I assume helps their "ranking", or counts towards a badge, or something...LOL I literally have no idea how PVP works). But I'm not going to stick around and repeatedly be a punching bag in their reindeer games. I got stuff to do.
  20. I've been to the PVP zones a number of times, usually hunting badges (I used to be very diligent about getting all the exploration badges on every alt, since it was an easy way to get merits in the early game. Nowadays, I mostly don't bother). In all those times, both here and on the old live servers, I've never seen another soul in those zones. I wouldn't complain if someone came after me. That's what the zone is for, after all, and I'm the one intruding. I'd probably just stand there, let them get their "win", and then leave and come back later. Probably not very satisfying or fun for the PVPer, but that's about the best I can do for them. 😉
  21. I use Discord for other things (including pen-and-paper RPGs). But the one time I joined a team in CoH that was using it, it got very annoying very quickly. People arguing with their spouses, dogs barking, music blaring, etc. etc. No thanks.
  22. I really should do that, since (aside from my one "badge toon") I always quit playing an alt once it hits 50. And I have done it a couple of times. But there's this annoying voice in the back of my mind saying, "One of these days, they'll come up with endgame content you actually like. And then you'll be glad you still have all those old toons with their enhancements intact."
  23. Yeah, unfortunately Null is not well-documented or advertised within the game. I think the only place he's mentioned is one of those loading screen tips that flash by for 0.5 seconds when you enter a mission. And even if a player knows about Null, they might not realize why GF can be a problem, until they experience it. I know that was the case with me...I left the setting alone, thinking "What's wrong with flying?" until I got on a group where it was used, and then I was all "Holy cow this sucks, where's Null?"
  24. As long as both parties are satisfied with the outcome of the transaction, it's a win-win. I'm happy to pay extra to get that Performance Shifter proc *right now*. Yes, I could get it for cheaper if I was willing to wait, but why bother? Inf practically rains down from the sky. What else am I going to do with it?
  25. Ok, but only if we also get a "BMX" powerset:
