  1. IIRC, that was the issue they implemented PhysX into the game (I was one of the 6 people who bought a PhysX card) and I can't even tell you how much time I spent just watching leaves swirl around my Singularity. It was pretty awesome.
  2. Initially thumbed-down for invoking She Who Should Not Be Invoked Ever Under Any Circumstances, upgraded to thumbs' left because that shit is inevitable anyway, first sighting might as well be on Halloween given the effect She has on me.
  3. Whoever wrote that article shares my affinity for Croatoa, a zone that is absolutely perfect except that it makes no sense for there to be a tram line that takes you to the edge of spookytown, other than to force a fresh 24/25 to walk that main thoroughfare to get ambushed by Fir Bolg and random spirits.
  4. I have to be honest, lately I have wondered what the devs were up to, because it HAS been a while, but I was thinking of it more from a standpoint of "I wonder what they're working on" than "why hasn't there been an update???" I think we got spoiled by what the dev team was able to accomplish during the spaghetti time that was March 2020 through ~August 2022 or so. Cut them some slack!
  5. I love SJ, I think it's the most super-feeling travel power in the game, but once I started using Speed of Sound/Jaunt, there was no going back. That gives me a travel power that's useful indoors and outdoors, AND a teleport that I can macro to send me to a specific target, so I can land on the AV right away or materialize next to the teammate who needs PBAoE healing or whatever, or sit back patiently while everyone else figures out the blue cave map, then TP to THEIR side, affording me the appearance that I can somehow navigate those confounding bastards.
  6. Leechers are kind of annoying just in basic theory, but in the grand scheme of things, they're not causing THAT much harm, other than contributing somewhat to the lag that accompanies the ToT shenanigans. I suppose they *do* leech XP/rewards, but they have to be doing damage to do that, and if they're doing damage, they're helping to clear mobs in some way, so it's not like they're door-sitting or what have you. I tell myself that their presence is distracting mobs from beating on my exemplar'd (??) friends, and that I'd just be throwing Alkaloid out in every direction instead of knocking on doors and flooring what comes out of them. That said, when one of their pets was caught dangling in an awning and preventing anyone from clicking one of the ToT doors, I kind of wanted to go spend a few minutes on a high-KB build, clearing mobs out of the middle to deny them even a couple ticks of XP. Or get both my Geav/Darks and just start Black Hole/Dimension Shifting various areas to deny them the targets. But at the end of the day, I just want to click on doors and occasionally warp out to stomp zombies/GMs/Banners. At this point, the leechers are just part of the experience.
  7. Probably a 60/40 split between A) the players in question don't know how to get to KW, and B) they DO know how to get to KW from PI but they're too lazy to do so.
  8. Username checks out. (j/k) But nah, BFR is especially nice on a Corruptor because once you get into Scourge country, it hits like an example of something extremely devestating drawn from contemporary popular culture that everyone should instantly recognize and visualize the results within the context of the subject at hand.
  9. If you think of Healing as just a huge regeneration burst to a set number, it's pretty easy to calculate the quasi-effective regen rate from powers and procs that heal. Take the Power Transfer, Chance to Heal proc on a Blaster with 1205 HP. The proc hits approximately 3x/minute for 60HP each activation; 60HP x3 activations every 60s = 180, 180/60s = 3.0HP/s 3.0/1205 HP = 0.0025 'regen' rate. That's oversimplifying things a tad, because there's 'luck' involved, but it's not a bad way to quantify the impact Healing powers/procs have on survival stats.
  10. Grav/Traps *is* fun to solo with, but what makes it fun toolo (setting traps then using WH/Singularity to force mobs into the traps) is a little too much of a Rube Goldberg operation for teaming, so it plays a lot different in that situation (which isn't as fun to ME but other folks may not mind it.) Ice/Traps is a beauty, especially after the rework Ice got a while back. Ice has confuse, sleep, fear, and KD that allow you to simply walk into the mob and start laying traps. It's good stuff that plays in any situation. If you're not going to run Ill/Traps (best Traps IMO) then Ice/Traps is a good way to go.
  11. A little off the subject, but Poison is really a case of the sum being greater than the parts. If you hold back one of the debuffs or don't move into melee with Venomous Gas, it's going to be underwhelming. Pulling back a bit, Poison doesn't NEED a lot of slotting and it's riddled with skippable powers, so it really lets you put resources into other areas of the build. All my Poisons are Corruptors or Controllers, and they've all been inhaling XP this ToT season.
  12. If you've got a Poison laying around somewhere, Weaken really evens the playing field.
  13. All valid points, but for years we found ways to use Singularity's repel, and nobody that I know of was like "This is awful." Gravitational Pull isn't awful, either. All it is, is a change in where you position yourself as the caster. Where Singularity used to function as a rearguard or haven for squishes, now you just bring it into the pile... and you have to bring it into the pile (or, bring the pile to it) because if it isn't IN the pile, you'll soon find you have two piles, which is less useful than one pile. One could argue that Singularity's owner has to put themselves closer to harm's way to make effective use of the new behavior, but really, what's harm's way in this game anymore? To my mind, they're a wash, but that doesn't mean people can't be nostalgiac for the old ways or fapping handily over the new ones.
  14. That's only because they neutered Singularity to be much less durable than it used to be, otherwise THAT would be the best thing about it. Pull effect versus repel effect is a tactical wash, in terms of advantages gained and lost, but if you spent years running Singularity the old way, its new behavior can take some getting used to.
  15. Plant/Thorn is an absolute roller. So many AoEs. I wish I had tried a few different Dominators before hitting upon Plant/Thorn, because every dom I've tried after that fails to measure up to it.
  16. If the rules say I can't vote for Hasten, and all the obvious candidates (PA, FS) have already been covered, then I'm going to say Faraday Cage. Not only is it fantastic mez protection that arrives (in a level-up build) right when you realize you NEED mez protection, it also gives decent +Res to most damage types and protection against End/Rec/Rech debuffs, and protects everyone in the cage from KB/KU/Repel and Immobilize. Top that off with the fact that it *can* be spammed to wipe off accumulated magnitude mez, such as you might see in an MSR. Plus, those characters that take it don't have to contort themselves to shoehorn mez protection into the build, so they can afford to get a fun Destiny power like Ageless, which is like gifting everyone around you with a distant cousin of the *real* GOAT, which is Hasten.
  17. For what it's worth, I usually 3-slot Health with the Miracle/Numina/Panacea procs, and Stamina usually gets 3 slots of Perf Shift, unless I go four slots with two pieces of Power Transfer and two pieces of PerfShift, but that's because I am a nutcase for +Recovery and random green numbers floating over my head.
  18. Maybe there's an outlier or two, but I cannot imagine a set bonus in either Health or Stamina that would justify not using those slots anywhere else in the build.
  19. My problem isn't with Masterminds as an AT, an individual Mastermind type, or even gangs of MMs purportedly 'leeching' rewards. My problem with AFK MMs is that the ToT league is generally a slideshow to begin with, then you add a bunch of MMs standing around with their 30000 pets just making it worse, and none of the players behind these accounts have to suffer the consequences their 'legal' horsefuckery leaves behind. I'm not 'jealous' of how little effort an AFK mastermind has to put in to get rewarded, and I don't care that some percentage of the 'rewards' are being allocated to players that aren't actually playing. I'm frustrated by the sheer preponderance of lazy assholes that don't give a flying fuck about anyone else's experience.
  20. roleki

    OCD!

No screen shot, but it bugs me to no end that one of the pool powers is STILL not in the correct alphabetical order.
  21. Close enough, it's a binary dog whistle.
  22. Hrm. Maybe I've been preparing for this for a while, as I have a Water/Electrical Corruptor named Embarrassing Wetness and a Water/Storm named Moisture Riser.
  23. If my 16yo son is to be believed, this MoistCr1TiKaL fellow is supposed to be the bees knees. It's possible this may actually be the straight dope, as he has the #7 Trending video on all of the YouTube today. I mention this because at the 5:53 mark, he says it thisaway:
