  1. I would log in CO looking to do team content and just flat out not find a team far too often. Whereas, here, the challenge is to send a tell before the teams fill up. In fact, I think Homecoming is more team friendly than Live was.
  2. Maybe this means support ATs can finally contribute more than helping to keep other support ATs alive. (... and debuffing the AV so it dies in 8 seconds instead of 10).
  3. What you're asking for is basically already available by just playing a blaster in melee. Now if you want to make some new animations and melee options so I can throw a fire ball with a swing of my katana, I'd be down for that.
  4. My alts are organized like a car collection. Up front there's the cars I love and drive regularly. There's literally no expense spared on these. They have all the best costumes and names. Highly tuned builds. Any adjustment needed as a result of powers changes get made as my first priority after release. Next there's the retired section. These are may classics. They're cars that used to be up front, loved, used daily, but now are just kept in a place of honor, but not driven. Their builds are never updated, but also never stripped for parts. And their names and costumes are never reused. And then lastly there's the junkyard. Out back... tons of cars that I'll strip for parts, or costumes... most with bastardized names so I could reuse a name and concept that I liked. I'll sometimes sift through the mess and pull something out to clean it up and turn it into something worth of the front few pages. But basically they're just sitting there collecting rust.
  5. Sleep is a great tool for soloing... But on teams it's just much more practical to buff the heck out of your teammates.
  6. Martial Combat has "Inner Will." This give you 60 seconds of status protection but has a long CD so it's not possible to have it up 100%, However, if you set it to auto, it doesn't fire until you get mezzed, thus you get protection when you most need it, and then it generally lasts for the rest of the fight and more. If you combine this with really high ranged defense which will make most mezz powers miss to begin with, you'll be very close to immune.
  7. Just guessing here, but maybe when you heard "single-player" people were talking about playing solo.... as in not teaming. That happens a lot, but they're still playing online connected to the server. Playing "offline" would not be something that is common practice.
  8. This is a great game and stuff... but compared to the MCU and DCU, CoH will never be more then a footnote in a footnote of an underappreciated text stuck in a drawer and never read by anyone. We're experiencing the peak of this game right now.
  9. As I was reading this my mind kept picturing Jackie Chan performing these moves. He's probably done them all numerous times, although usually the weapon is a common household item.
  10. As with most content in this game... the solution is purple inspirations.... or in some cases, team purples.
  11. Impressive list of changes. Looks mostly good. While you're looking at VEATS, my personal pet peeve is Mind Link's cast time is enormous... almost 4 seconds. And it's not really a "cast before jumping in" power because this game just doesn't play that way.
  12. This enhancement is not unique so we can slot it multiple times. But looking at the combat attributes, it doesn't seem to stack with itself, thus you only get the benefit from the first one. I think this should be made unique, or allowed to stack.
  13. 4 years later and I still feel like I'm one of the only players who abuses Disrupt. I combine it with TF to perm-stun the most dangerous target with my opening hit out of hide (including +4 bosses, and AV's while their purple triangles are down). Disrupt also significantly reduces the additional attacks coming in from melee range by stunning minions and LTs on it's own. Vengeance is a complex beast.. I usually deal with it by killing LT's last and out of range of the next spawn. This way I don't have to account for it in my builds so much. I haven't played my EM/EA stalker in a while... this post has me feeling the itch. That's a really solid combo.
  14. When I make a new toon, I'm always rushing up to level 7-11ish... that's then I can buy SO's and get them slotted and get that significant bump in power. That's when I slow down and start to enjoy the game. But the thing is, the pricing for SO's was never set for starter toons to be able to afford them. I always send 20M inf from an alt to my new toon so I can afford to buy SO's and upgrade them at each level. My suggestion is that we tweak the cost of SO's and and the cost to "upgrade" so that they're affordable by a typical player (playing without 2x XP and inf turned off.) I think we can just drop DO's from the game like they did with generics. I never thought DO's were significant enough to bother with to begin with and SO's are really where the fun begins. Just start selling SO's at level 5 like DO's do now and let the fun begin sooner. This won't affect balance of the game since most all of us can just email ourselves 20M inf.
  15. Rest doesn't take sets. I even tried it just to confirm. Good thought though, but I think the original Devs anticipated this trick and squashed it. Especially with the prestiege sprints where you could quickly abuse something x 5.
  16. Some of the most fun things I've ever done was a group of people getting together to "ebrace the suck." Whenever I do synapse, I usually start making comments about how "I hope the next mission is the one where we get to kill all clockworks in the lab."
  17. I think on Redside, if you form your own teams, you'll easily find people to join. But if you're looking to join others who are forming, that's much more frequent on blueside by far.
  18. Originally I went to the real world for a while, working while getting my MBA, etc.... This began was before sunset. In fact I learned about sunset after the fact and missed out on seeing CoH one last time. I spent a lot of time with Netflix and Amazon Prime as well at that time. I dabbled in DCUO for a while. I did Monster Hunter World for a while as well. Both of those were good games, but I never got into them enough to get to max level/endgame play. Again, real life got in the way more than bad game expiriences. I spent a few years at Champions Online and fully flushed out multiple endgame builds (if you were there, my most notable toon was Collision Theory). I enjoyed it actually, but it really was just scratching the itch that CoH filled so well. Once I got around to logging into homecoming, I never logged back into CO. I nearly went down the rabbit hole of Table Top D&D with online gameplay options... but never really pulled that string completely. Mostly I just spent 3-4 months doing character builds and never playing them. Currently my free-time rotating between CoH, Mountain Biking (weather permitting), Netflix, Duolingo, and Clash Royale.
  19. I remember that April fools gag. That has to be one of the worst jokes/pranks ever. (or does that mean it's the best?... No. No it was bad and I'm still not over it.)
  20. I'd like to see the rez turned into something that triggers when you die and lets you keep fighting with negative HP and not die as long as you get back to positive before a timer runs out... maybe even gives a damage boost while below 0.
  21. I've never tried this, nor talked to anyone who has.. .but there's about 100 versions of this on Amazon. Makes me think someone is buying them anyway, if not using them.
  22. I could see them giving out a series of non-combat missions, with players doing things that are easy with powers, but not so easy without them. I'm not sure how to make that fun and rewarding, but it'd be thematic. edited... I have an idea on making non-combat missions rewarding... have them give desirable temp buffs.... Like XP multipliers or influence multipliers.
