  1. I will support this idea if it leads to less "everyone hates knockback" threads!
  2. Somebody official already has weighed in on it. The Homecoming developers in the patch notes in August 2019. BillyMailman posted a link to those patch notes, just a few posts up, showing that the devs already tried to fix this at least once. I'd say that's a pretty good indication that it's a bug. I'm just gonna ride off on my High Horse now. Wooooooooooo! Riding my high horse!!!
  3. Those patch notes are clearly wrong. After all, a PvPer just got done telling us that it's not a bug and provided a google doc as proof. He clearly wasn't lying or trying to gaslight anyone. Oh, no! Also, it doesn't do this as long as you don't slot enhancements in the ability. Clearly the devs don't intend for us to slot enhancements into Moonbeam, right? @Bill Z Bubba How dare you slot enhancements in your powers and then expect them to work correctly!?!
  4. Most of the powers in this game that have a travel time to the target inflict their damage on the target roughly around the time that it takes for the projectile to reach the target. This makes it appear to be the intended behavior for powers in general. This makes it appear to be a bug that this power, unlike others, inflicts its damage out of synch with the animation/projectile. Neither your google doc, nor your statements to the contrary, have convinced me otherwise. Yes, I am aware of this. You see, I am not some n00b who is merely stumbling unaware upon this subject now, as you claimed. I have PvP'd before, both in this game and in others. Reasonable explanations as to why a power is preferable in PvP does not alter whether it's a bug or not. Reporting the events as they honestly appear to me is not "riding your high horse." It's simply reporting the events as they appear to me. Also, you have no idea whatsoever how much effort I've put into becoming informed about PvP in this game or not, whether I like PvP or not, and what my bias' are. You're simply making assumptions about my motivations. Also, it would be libel. Slander is when it's spoken. Libel is when it's written. But what do I know? I'm ignorant and biased, right?
  5. OR... you could simply stop abusing exploits in PvP. Yes, using and relying on a power which is obviously bugged, not reporting it (and then coming the forum and... shall we say... shading the truth a bit in order to discourage people from reporting it as a bug), is abusing an exploit.
  6. Oh, sure enough. I didn't see any decorations, but I forgot about clicking on the doors to trick-or-treat. I don't think I've ever done that villain side. Thanks for the correction.
  7. I think if you play villain side and gold side you won't see any holiday stuff. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
  8. @Icy Mike Yes. There are plenty of people who just run missions with low level characters with just SOs. I'm not sure when exactly you last played, so some of what I'm about to say may not make sense to you. Or maybe you've been playing on Homecoming for awhile and you know all of this already. Do you remember the Vet Reward Powers? (link to the Homecoming Wiki article) Well, you can get them now by going to a vendor in Atlas Park, or Mercy, named "P2W Vendor" (link to wiki page). The multiple lists may be a bit confusing at first, but take a bit of time to carefully read the descriptions and you'll get the idea. Travel Powers can now be picked up at level 4. The Fitness pool is now inherent to all characters. There's a couple of new power pools too. A lot of people are able to get around a lot faster because they have the "Long Range Teleport" accolade (link to wiki page). It's a thing that you can pick up for free. While in Atlas park (or any zone really - this is just the first zone for most of us), get all of the exploration badges. There's 8 of them and you likely know where most of them are. After that, pick up a single explore badge in each zone and you'll have the ability to teleport to it. Also, as part of this there's actually a related macro (green button I think) that you should have in your powers tray instead of all of the various teleport abilities. It will allow you to keep track of and use any of the teleport abilities you might have. And you can pick a lot of them up at the P2W vendor.
  9. Translation: "You've proven that you are correct, but the "tone of voice" that I made up in my own head is going to allow me to ignore your facts." Ok, well that's your choice. Peace.
  10. Well, the person that you quoted and replied to said: So it appeared to me that we were talking about Knockdowns, among other things. Please forgive me for reading the words that people actually wrote instead of just deciding in my head what people were talking about.
  11. Please allow me to help you. Here's a thread posted by one of the GMs. It's essentially the rules for the Suggestions & Feedback subforum. Let me quote his post: "If something isn't fun, we do want to hear about it. If others disagree, that's fine, too." Ok, did you catch that? That's a GM saying that the rules allow us to disagree with your suggestion. If you still don't believe me then please report my post and we'll see what happens. Don't worry, I'm used to it.
  12. My Tanker is Invulnerability. So her defense goes from like next to nothing to 46% if there are 10 mobs gathered around her. The difference is enormous. It's a lot easier for my Tanker to keep aggro and keep the squishies from face-planting if the enemies are gathered round. Not everyone plays with full teams of 8. I often play just with my friends, or my sons. So my teams are usually around 4 people. Not everyone plays a 50+1 Vet Level 1,387 Billion Inf all Tier 4 incarnate character at all times. So yes, there are times where playing this game can present a bit of a challenge. You just have to find them.
  13. No? Ok, well here's a couple of threads about knockdown then: Need more Knockback->Knockdown conversion! July 3, 2019 Knockback revision July 11, 2019 A Moderate Change to Knockback September 29, 2019 I Love Knockback January 5, 2020 Energy Blast and Knockback March 21, 2020 SANCTUARY server (not Homecoming) Energy Blast ... no more Knockback... April 4, 2020 Global Enhancement for Knockback to Knockdown Conversion? July 31, 2020 Proposed Knockback modifcation/fix July 12, 2021 Poll: How do you feel about knockback? July 13, 2021 There's more, but that's all I found with a quick search.
  14. We've already had 137,482 threads on this. Please don't start another one. Please just vent in whichever thread is the most current one.
  15. Yeah, I see what you mean about people being pushed out of the game because of people's reactions to their playstyle. I've seen it happen. I've also seen fun content ruined by devs changing content so that it can be soloed. I agree that giving people grief because of their preferred playstyle is just dumb. Anyway, thanks for answering my questions. So mote it be.
  16. @Bill Z Bubba I agree with you, so normally that wouldn't rate a response, but I did have a question about this: I honestly don't understand what damage is caused by the belief that a game with the words "Multi-Player Online" in the name should have a preference toward teaming. Personally I see a lot more issues caused by people who prefer to solo. Mostly in that they scream that everything, including 40-man raids, should be able to be soloed. I know that this part doesn't apply to you. You already addressed that.
  17. No, the reasoning still works. Just because a new team is working on the game doesn't mean that any powers (not saying that any were) that were secretly nerfed because of PvP concerns will just magically and instantly be reverted. The current devs aren't going to know one way or the other if the retail devs lied about the motivation behind a nerf of a specific power. Look, I did not say that a bunch of powers were secretly nerfed because of PvP. What I said, what I've always said, is that Hurricane is the only power that the retail devs admitted that they nerfed because of PvP. That's what I said. I've said it more than once. My wording is incredibly specific. And, if you read my sentence objectively, you have no choice but to admit that it's true.
  18. No, not a conspiracy. Just a recognition of the fact that people have never liked admitting when they were wrong, and that now days that's been amplified times 1,000.
  19. Yes, you found the exception to the rule. Congratulations. Heroes typically work against villains. They occasionally work with them to save the world. That's an exception that trick-or-treating doesn't meet. .
  20. The Trick-Or-Treat League, at the Paradise Hotel on My Island, is the only time that I can be honestly said to farm. I use it to level up characters that have gotten stuck in the mid 30s, or a brand new character that I don't want to play up through the 0-29 game for the millionth time. It only happens once a year. Get over it or get off of My Island.
  21. Not necessarily. That would require them to admit that they lied when they said that they didn't nerf that ability because of PvP. They had no motivation to do that and a lot of motivation not to.
  22. Let's be completely honest for just a moment, Mac. The truth is that in the entire history of the retail game there was just one power that the developers admitted they nerfed because of PvP.
  23. Thank you for starting this thread, Glacier Peak. And thank you, Homecoming Developers, for all of the hard work that you've put into City of Heroes. I haven't always agreed with all of your decisions, but that's ok. English doesn't have to words to express how grateful I am that you've resurrected, and improved, my favorite hobby.
