  1. So what would you call an iTrial? Is that challenging content? If there's not enough challenge in this game for you then how about you go solo the AE 801 series instead of trying to nerf all my characters and force me to play your "game is too easy bro" mode! Basically people are, once again, complaining about being a super hero in a super hero game.
  2. Here we go again... So basically you power munchkined your characters full up with Purple IO sets and all T4 Incarnates and you're complaining that the content is too easy? Wow. What a shocker. Your character became Superman in a superhero game. If you'd rather play Lame-O the Wonder Clown instead of Superman then go play WoW.
  3. The weak aggro aura has been fixed on Tankers and Brutes, so you won't have that problem to worry about. The biggest problem that I've had with my Will/SS Tank has been, believe it or not, a lack of endurance drain resistance. If you're near the softcap on most things then that probably won't be an issue for you.
  4. Except that it would. There's an opportunity cost involved. If the Council of 13 is working on coding this that's time they could have spent coding in something else. It would be one thing if, like Sonic Bubbles, it affected a lot of people and the effect was placed on to other characters, but that's not the case with Whirlwind. Don't like the look, then don't take it. Problem solved. In the entire time I've played on Homecoming I've seen one, exactly 1, person use this. So it wouldn't be hard to move so that you don't see them or just not team with that one player. Also, I'm old, nearly blind and red-green color blind on top of that. I've bought a larger monitor to make it easier for me to game. I change the color of my UI and I never pair red and green on a character's costume. When I'm making a character I often ask other people to look at my screen and tell me what color something is. Now could the devs do a bunch of work to make things easier for me? Sure they could. They could add the names of every color to tool tips and do a powers pass to make sure that every NPC's power is a different color than all of the other colors so that I can actually see each individual power, especially in a group setting. Am I asking them to do that? No. Why not? Because I would much rather see the developers work on stuff that benefits all of you instead of working on stuff that will only benefit myself.
  5. I can't imagine that this affects a significant portion of the players and I'm tired of everything being changed for the 0.01% to the detriment of the 99.99%.
  6. A lot of people now days are just determined to stick with their world view no matter how many people tell them they're wrong. It's why I didn't bother to cite a source. He would have just nit-picked it to "prove" it wrong and there is zero chance that he might actually change his mind. *shrug* It is what it is.
  7. @GM Impervium Any chance we can get someone to say something about Gadgetry?
  8. I can't actually respond to this without giving away that my character might be involved in a possible IP violation. But there is a good explanation out there for this. On the plus side I agree. Mmmmmmm... brownies! 😄
  9. Basically, my character that's a robot from the future, who may or may not have a phase plasma rifle in a 40 watt range, really needs to have some flying drones. And of course my other character, who's from a place far far away, could really make use of a nano net and a jetpack. Also, thank you so much for the possible animation Luminara. As is often the case I agree with your suggestion. 🙂
  10. I've been waiting for awhile to roll up some real high-tech heroes using the Gadgetry Powerpool. According to the Homecoming Wiki it's supposed to have drones, jetpacks and shoulder launched missiles. Ok, I may have just made that last one up, but can you blame me? Tell me you don't want a shoulder launched missile for some of your characters. Anyway... Does anyone have any idea if this is ever going to be released? Have the devs already talked about this and I just totally missed it? I'm stuck at work and, due to technical issues, I can't actually do any work right now. Help me out. 🙂
  11. Based on your post, you're clearly far more interested in attacking and insulting me than in actually learning anything and possibly changing your outlook. Besides, if I do provide a link, instead of reading the information and possibly even changing your mind, you're far more likely to just state that they're an unreliable source because they don't agree with your political beliefs and then use that as an excuse to attack my intelligence, again. Also, I'm not google. Do your own research.
  12. Yes. Psionic damage is common in the late game. There are IO's that you can slot that will give you defense or resistance to psionic damage.
  13. I don't know if this is directed specifically at me, but I'm going to respond to it. I don't "denigrate the poor." I simply read and recite the statistics. Personally, I'd like to see a situation in which there are better education and training opportunities for the poor so that they can lift themselves out of poverty and not so readily see committing crimes as a viable alternative. It's one of the reasons why I'm so critical of the public school system in America. Simply speaking the truth isn't insulting or denigrating anyone. When I say "water is wet" that's simply a true statement, no matter who is offended by it. And I'm not in any way saying that rich people don't commit crimes, or that they don't use their wealth and/or influence to cover up said crimes. You're reading words into my statement that I never wrote if you though that's what I was saying. Personally, I think that the rich and/or powerful should have higher mandatory minimum sentences when they do get convicted of any crime than poor people do. First, because they have far less excuse to commit crimes and, second, because it would cause them to be a little bit more concerned about the consequences than they currently are.
  14. This is absolutely untrue. Statistical work from criminologists has proven that poor people are far more likely to commit crimes than rich people. Part of it is from wanting money and part of it stems from the same mindset that keeps them poor in the first place. The poor are statistically far more likely to commit violent crimes in addition to being more likely to steal money or resources. It's just that when the rich do commit crimes it's far more likely to make it into the news.
  15. CoH is the only MMO I've ever played that lets me do this. I had a really hard time getting used to melee combat in other MMOs because I had to close range manually. I use 'V' for target nearest enemy. I've used this key for so long that I don't remember why though. And am I misremembering or did you complain about Hover not closing to melee range on the retail forums?
  16. OMG Bill. I suddenly had flashbacks to your posts on the retail forums...
  17. I'd pay good money to be able to download the current version of Homecoming's server software and simply click install and have it run without needing to have lots of technical skills.
  18. I think that I've mentioned before that I have a Force Field / Beam Rifle Defender on each of the servers. They're a ton of fun to play. First I bubble everyone, then I run around acting like a blaster for 2 minutes. Occasionally I'll use Aid Other on someone, but that's pretty rare. Is Force Field the best set in the game? No. Would I be ok if it got buffed? Sure. But is it the boring set that no one wants on their team the way it's being portrayed in this thread? Absolutely not.
  19. Bree, the editor-in-chief of Massively OP, recently said that she knows at least some of Homecoming's developers and that she knows they are people that do/did work as game developers. I even started a thread about it awhile back. People freaked out because they thought that I was trying to out/dox the devs, which I wasn't trying to do. In that thread I even linked to the MOP article where Bree said this. The way people were acting I suspect that at least some of those accounts that attacked me are the devs' own personal accounts. And, needless to say, even though my thread violated none of the forum rules it got locked. Because the devs don't want people discussing this subject. They seem to forget that this information isn't a secret. The internet never forgets. Screenshot my post and look for it next week. Even money it's gone.
  20. Neiska, may I respectfully suggest that you stop inviting 13 year-olds to your D&D game? Yes. What you're describing has been a problem for DM's, and roleplayers, since the 80's when 13 year-olds first discovered D&D (and other RPG's) and began using them to play out their power fantasies. The best way to deal with a situation like this isn't to complain about it on the forum, it's to just stop allowing that person into your roleplay group. Don't bother trying to explain anything to them, just avoid the drama and avoid them. (P.S. Mods, once my post gets reported, don't waste my time claiming that I'm insulting anyone with this post. Claiming that children are immature isn't an insult, it's a known fact. Saying that a child is immature is like saying water's wet. If you're going to ban me please at least come up with a believable reason.)
  21. Here's my suggestions, for whatever that's worth. You could try some of the less optimal powersets and/or AT's. Not every Scrapper needs to be TW/Bio or EM/Shield. Try something different. It might actually be fun. Play the game for the stories. Actually read the text. If you like playing AE then find some good AE story missions. Create one of those awesome story missions in the AE. Lead task forces and/or incarnate trials. You think playing the game is easy? Try herding people through a Rikti Mothership Raid. That's a bit of a challenge. Do what a lot of people do and spend your time on the forums trying to convince the devs to nerf the players and/or buff the enemies in some form or other. It seems to be a very popular pastime for people with your outlook. Work on updating the wiki. TL;DR: There's tons of other, non-repetitive stuff, that you can do with this game.
  22. Time for a funny anecdote that is guaranteed to make someone hate me! 🙂 A rule that I developed on the Retail servers, before The Snap, is to never invite Controllers or Dominators that I don't know to a PuG. Never. Never, ever, ever. The few times I've violated that rule, almost always by accident, I've been reminded why I created that rule in the first place. I'm usually on a tank when I'm PuGing and PuG controllers will inevitably fire off their AoE immobs before I get the mobs locked around my Invuln tank. Which means that my defense is lower and I can't hold all of the aggro. And then they fire at the controller, drop him, and then the controller gets mad that I wasn't able to keep the aggro off of them. And then, before I can finish typing my response explaining why they are problem, they quit the team. But I'm not bitter about it or anything. No, not me! &$%@( idiot controllers.
