  1. Have you managed to find out what your graphics card is yet? If you don't have one then that's probably the problem. CoH's graphics are old but, you still shouldn't be using an onboard graphics chip. Especially on a laptop.
  2. I agree that Sorcery is a very good pool for Controllers. I've never used Spirit Ward on Singularity before, I'll have to try that. He's pretty tough though. What I really like Sorcery for is Arcane Bolt. When it procs it's the highest damaging attack my Grav/Storm has. With Containment it hits like a truck.
  3. Yes. I have a Sudden Acceleration KB to KD slotted in Singularity in my controller. It works like a charm, especially with his new gravity power. The I drop Tornado on top of him and sip my coffee while the two of them toss everyone around like salad until they're dead.
  4. I do respecs all of the time, and I also have a lot of macros on some characters. Plan your build. Screenshot your power trays. Respec. /cleartray. Use the screenshot to quickly organize your macros. Place your powers. Use the screenshot to help if necessary. I do this all the time. Total elapsed time less than 1/2 hour.
  5. You can make multiple builds for the same character. You could make a build specifically for hunting explore badges in PvP zones that had flight and stealth powers. Then, when you were done hunting these explore badges, you could go back into the PvE zone and switch right back to your PvE build.
  6. It's not about the zone or the event or the game "belonging" to anyone. It's about respect for other people. Look, if you announced that you were going to run an impromptu event that required a large percentage of the entire server population and then people started informing you "Hey, we already have an event just like that one scheduled to start in about 30 minutes. Please don't disrupt our event. People are already planning to show up then. You're welcome to join in." If you disrupt that event then YOU are being the jerk. Now it seems (I wasn't there) that that's basically what happened but their language should have been a little nicer, something that I already agreed with in my first post. However, it was still the same thing, just not stated nearly as diplomatically. Either way, the person showed up and risked disrupting an already planned event when all he had to do was just wait a few minutes and join the one that was about to start. Unnecessary, and probably childish, words aside, he was the one risking disrupting an event. In my opinion, he's the jerk here.
  7. Banning people who disrupt organized events IS behaving like a reasonable human being.
  8. He keeps defending the poor developers from you because you forgot to preface your posts with "I realize that the developers are volunteers and that I get to play this game for free..." Remember, we learned, back in November, that the only acceptable way to criticize anything the Council of Thirteen says or does is to start your post off with those magical words.
  9. Make no mistake, the person who refused to listen to people telling him "there's an MSR scheduled to start in 30 minutes" is the jerk here. When you show up and announce you want to run an event and people tell you that one's scheduled in 30 minutes, you can wait 30 minutes. People are already planning to be there in 30 minutes. People have taken time to let everyone know about it. More people are likely to show up than at an impromptu session. Look, I'm not saying the people asking him to wait for the "official" MSR weren't being jerks. But your boy who refused to just say "oh thanks for letting me know" and wait for previously scheduled raid, that was only 30 minutes away, was the real jerk here. As for the raid leader banning some people from his raid. Well... you're a problem causing jerk, don't be surprised when people say that you're not welcome at their event. TL;DR = Learn to social skill properly.
  10. I don't play on the other servers so I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the info. You're right. That does suck.
  11. This is the part where I jump in and say "Other CoH servers allow players to customize their MM pets!" Or am I not allowed to mention that? 😁
  12. I have a Force Field / Beam Rifle defender on each of the servers. And I played a lot of Force Field defenders on live. I agree with Sandwich on Penetrating Ray and Repulsion Bomb. Both are great powers. So is Force Bolt, which I would take at an early level instead of Personal Force Field. While PFF is great, it just doesn't have the utility of FB. While I'd take Cutting Beam, if I could fit it into a build, it wouldn't be until later levels. Like 2$B said, you probably won't have time to use it and you don't really want the aggro that it'll generate anyway. I'd drop Field Medic, Resuscitate and reduce the number of slots in Aid Self/Aid Other. Unless you're keeping those for the set bonuses I suppose. If your bubbles are properly slotted your teammates might need an occasional heal, if they need more than that then you all should try reducing the difficulty after the next team-wipe. Don't use Resuscitate. There are too many rez powers and awakens in game to waste a slot on that. Also, why do you have Teleport Target? The only reason that I can see for that is to beam someone back to you so they can be rezzed, but you don't have a rez in that build. If you're trying to help people get to the mission door then use Assemble the team and Team Transport. People have travel powers, they should use them. Assault and Tactics are more useful than Maneuvers. Increasing peoples' ToHit, Damage, Placate resistance, and allowing them to ignore smoke is worth a lot more than a few more points of defense. So that's my 2 cents. Hope it helps.
  13. Now that's the way to do a focused feedback thread. Thank you for all of your hard work, Faultline.
  14. Siolfir's post matches my aging memory of posts made by the devs, or community managers, back on live. But since everyone can get the pet for free now I'd suggest just giving the pets 40% defense to everything, and not buffing them in any other way. This makes them useful for soloers and low level characters, but still nearly worthless at higher levels where no more buffs are needed.
  15. Because I was busy yesterday and forgot to post this when I got home from work. You beat me to it! 😄 DANCE GUN!
  16. Well, there's two problems with what you've said: 1) Not everyone that plays is on the forums, turning all of their characters into Billion INF softcapped monsters. 2) Knockback, especially when well done, is great mitigation and is not universally despised in-game the way it seems to be on the forums.
  17. I have a Force Field Defender on each of the servers. I never solo with these characters and people, regardless of level, are always happy to have bubbles. That's not to say that it's the best, cause it's not, but I'm not sure why they suddenly suck at levels 35+. My advice, for what little it's worth, is play the support set you want to play. If you know what you're doing people will always be happy to have you on the team.
  18. Thanks. I have the same habit so I know what you mean. Don't worry about it. I'm just cranky and should have adapted faster.
  19. I had a ton of fun yesterday, as always. Thanks for helping me get my baby tank up to level 32 yesterday! 🙂 I'm really looking forward to the all tanker MSR in June.
  20. *@$%&! a heal! I'd much rather just have the correct damage and critical chance on an EM Scrapper and Stalker.
  21. *sigh* Yeah... But hey! After they do that, they can go ahead and finally issue Energy Aura to Tankers! Don't worry though, they'll find a way to nerf it so that it's not as good as it should be. Just like they did with EM on Scrappers and Stalkers.
  22. You know, they don't actually have to nerf Rage in order to give Super Strength to Scrappers. Or at least not nerf it on Tanks. They could just Scrappers a version of SS that has Build Up instead of Rage. Problem solved.
  23. I've always pronounced it "Super-eh-deen." But I'm American. I have no idea how things are supposed to be properly pronounced.
  24. Personally I like how the GM posted, warning us to be civil to the guy derailing the thread. But the guy derailing the thread? Nah, he's going to be allowed to go off on his one man crusade in every thread he touches and there's nothing we can do about it. Because derailing every single thread with this horrible idea, that has nothing to do with the topic of the thread, that's ok. That's not rude at all. Nope. There's nothing uncivil about derailing every thread you post in. Nosiree!
  25. Look, I realize that this is your thing. The thing that you reflexively post in response to anything. But, this has literally nothing to do with what we're talking about. This thread, just in case you missed it, is about buffing Brutes or nerfing Tanks. Blasters, and the defense hard cap, has nothing to do with this. Try to stay on target, Red Five.
