Nah. In order for this to be the Star Trek Online forums the devs would have to spend a few years flat out lying to us that they're actually creating content for one faction, and then never do it, while the mods ban hammer anyone on the forums that complains about it. And then the publisher would wipe the forums and then the devs would spend the next couple of years denying that any of that happened while the mods ban hammer anyone who links to the quotes on my web page proving them wrong. At least that's the Star Trek Online forums that I remember.

The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime
PeregrineFalcon replied to Ohsirus's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
You should probably just watch it with her, Terror. Then you'll get to hear "In the book they actually did this..." after every single episode. It'll be fun. 😁 -
General Feedback: Issue 27, Page 3
PeregrineFalcon replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
Fair enough. I would prefer that the amplifiers be reverted to their original logarithmic cost and that they be rendered immune to anything that would affect their duration. Oh, and I don't believe that I speak for the entire player base, but someone will certainly accuse me of believing that I do. I just thought I'd save time and get my disclaimer in now. -

The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime
PeregrineFalcon replied to Ohsirus's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
I would love to watch the Wheel of Time series. I even have Amazon Prime. However, I have absolutely no confidence that what they make won't be utter garbage. I'll be waiting a few weeks and then watching reviews. -
If that changes I'll let you know. So I'm a forum PvPer? W00t! I'm a leet PvPer, ya'll!!! 🤣

ZOMG! You're not going to tell us his strength without giving us his full FASERIP stats, are you? IIRC, Spider-Man's strength is either Incredible (40) or Amazing (50).

In Soviet Russia, blaster mezzes YOU! 😄 Did I do that right?
-
Yeah. One of the things that annoys me is that Sentinels don't have any melee attacks. I gotta say, if I'd been making Sentinels, I would have made the secondary sets be a combination of mez protection and armor toggles and melee attacks. So Sentinels would do almost as much damage as a Blaster (no Defiance stacks) but their armor would be much worse than a Scrapper. They wouldn't have the Sniper attacks or the tier 9 armor powers.

That's why I believe that the devs should just change Rage to a toggle and be done with it. I've been reading threads about Rage and asking the crash to be removed since 2006. At the very least I wish the devs would come out and say "We're going to do this with Rage." Or at least the moderators should roll all of the Rage threads into one mega thread and add any new thread about Rage to that thread. Keep the rage all confined to just one thread. They should do the same with the knockback threads as well.

I have exactly 2 SS characters. A Will/SS Tanker and an SS/Will Brute. On the tank I don't care about the crash and, when I do notice it, I just taunt and Handclap (no damage there to reduce) and use Nemesis Staff. This keeps their attention focused on me for the 10 whole seconds that I can't do damage. On my brute it's really annoying. Which is why I only have 1 SS brute and I certainly will never make an SS scrapper. I don't think that SS needs to be changed, but I do think players should only take it on a tank where the -dam can be ignored.

Wait, what? Really? Peregrine Falcon was a Fiery Melee/Shield Scrapper on the retail servers (which reminds me, I still need to get him to 50 on Homecoming). And he seemed to do incredible damage. I never actually analyzed the numbers or anything though. I didn't realize that Fiery Melee was no longer the king of AoE melee damage. Of course this was before Titan Weapons. There's no angry face smiley/emoji. Where is my angry face emoji!?!?! Back on to taunt auras though, I see your point. And yes, giving Regen a taunt aura would just be mean, but Invuln would have a hard time surviving without one. Whether to add taunt auras to the sets that don't have them or take them away from the ones that do. Well, all I can say is this is one of those situations where I'm glad that I don't have to make the decision, because I'm not sure that any decision, including doing nothing at all, is the right call.

I completely understand, and agree with you, that things should be consistent. I like consistency. And yes, Brawl, and everything else, should Crit and Scourge if they Contain. However, sets having differences, even if those differences are inconsistent and came about by happenstance rather than careful planning, is a good thing too. It's one of the reasons to roll alts. Some Scrapper primaries have knocks, some have stuns, some have DOTs. And some Scrapper secondaries have taunt auras and some don't. And then there's Willpower which has a weak taunt aura. (IIRC they only fixed it on Brutes and Tanks) Well, one of the Homecoming devs did post that they are not going to go back and add a taunt aura to Scrapper secondaries that don't have them. I don't believe that they don't care. It appears to me that they just don't believe that it's broken or that it adversely affects game balance. Personally, as I've said, I like the fact that some Scrappers have a taunt aura and some don't. However, I'd love some serious rocket surgery to explain to me why I'm wrong. Few things I love more than reading other people's work. 😁
-
I disagree with that as well. Look, Scrappers have plenty of ways to keep a target from running. My MA Scrapper has Air Superiority, Crippling Axe Kick and Dragon's Tail. Any of which will keep most targets from running. Other Scrappers have things like Disembowel and Jawbreaker. I can hear your reply now: "But Peregrine, you can't knock or immob an AV!" Yeah? Well, AV's will often just ignore taunt and do whatever they want, so what's the difference? Next reply: "But Peregrine, if I take Crappy Axe Kick it'll lower my Arcanatime DPS." Ok. Well, that's the trade off you make, I guess. More DPS or the ability to stop runners. That's sounds like good game mechanics to me.

I'm old and half blind and partial red-green colorblind on top of that. So I totally do get it. I understand your point of view now, and I sympathize. Sorry, I wasn't trying to start an argument. I was honestly just asking questions. Please remember that the "tone of voice" that you "hear" when you read my posts is in your head, not mine. Peace.

Modification suggestion for Lady Grey TF mission 4
PeregrineFalcon replied to Voltor's topic in Suggestions & Feedback

What? No! I don't mind having a taunt aura on my Invuln Scrapper, but I like the fact that my SR Scrapper doesn't have a taunt aura. I use that fact to single out targets while the rest of the team is dealing with other things ,without drawing aggro away from the tank (or the blaster :). Motion denied. We'll adjourn until tomorrow.

How are they not a solution? Not trying to be a jerk here. I'm just asking because I genuinely don't understand why turning the graphics down isn't a solution. This is a super hero game that has super hero effects. And it was made in 2004. If it weren't for the tiny interface I could run this game on my phone.
